《Ice Cold ~ Toshiro x Reader》8- Midomi-chan

Without much thought, you ran towards the centre of Seireitei where the meeting was held, gaining you many strange looks. You looked down at yourself, confused, then remembered you were still wearing clothes from the human world. A school uniform, to be exact.
Just as you arrived to the "head-captain-meeting-place" you suddenly realised you had absolutely no idea where to go. Sure, you made it to your destination... but where now? It wasn't as if you could just turn around and go back home. The middle of Seireitei was easy to find, but... you had no idea how to retrace your steps.
Though I hate doing it, I'm going to have to ask for directions...
You sighed, and searched anxiously for a friendly looking person. You noticed a friendly looking man wearing a pink kimono and a straw hat. Mustering up the courage, you stepped over and awkwardly hovered by him as he talked to an uptight looking lady. You fiddled with your skirt, and waited for him to finish his conversation. You traced the patterns on his kimono with your eyes, resisting the urge to interrupt.
"Taichou, isn't that the girl from the meeting?" someone asked, causing you to perk up. You raised your head as the man turned around.
Great. A Captain. Just what I wanted. At least he's wearing pink? Makes him somewhat less intimidating.
"Oh, you're right, Nanao-chan. Helloooo~!" he greeted you, causing you to open your mouth in surprise.
"U-Uhm, hello..." you murmured shyly, slightly soothed by his casual tone of voice.
"Do you need any help navigating?" he asked, causing you to feel ashamed of your actions.
"Yes, Taichou!" you say, bowing respectfully.
"Not a problem! Please, call me Shunsui, or Kyouraku," he smiled, and you gaped at him.
"N-No! I couldn't! That would be disrespectful..." you disagreed, shaking your head with wonder.
"No, no, it's fine! You can call me whatever you want," he insisted.
"Taichou, I don't think we have time for this. Seriously," snapped the one that he had called Nanao.
"Oh, right. Well, I'm sure we have time to direct this young lady to where she needs to go. Where are you looking for?" he asked with a smile. You contemplated this for a bit.

"Ahh... maybe... to someone friendly that can... help me get some food? Oh, and clothes!" you answered happily, earning you a chuckle.
"I see. I would take you, but..." he trailed off, glancing at Nanao and shooting you an apologetic look.
He pointed at a building in the near distance, and you stared at it.
"That building is where the fifth seat of the third division lives, Midomi Himari. She's quite nice as far as I'm aware, I'm sure she'll take you," he informed you with a smile. "Bye, now! Let's go, Nanao-chan."
Sighing in relief, you walk to the building, smiling at the sight of flowers on window sills. Soon, you find yourself at the building in question, and you knock on the door cautiously. Even though you had already knocked, you noticed a fancy knocker on the door and lifted your arm. Before you could knock on it, though, the door opened, and you whipped your arm back down as fast as lightning.
"Haah? Who are you?" asked a purple-haired girl. She looked as if she just ran a marathon - sweaty, out of breath, and angry. Wait... angry?
"U-Uhm, Y/N at your service!" you chirped, saluting her goofily. She stared at you blankly, and you both were silent for almost a minute.
"Not really at your service... it's just a thing people say, meaning that you're there, I guess..." you mutter, trying to fill the silence.
"I'm aware, dumbass. What do you want?" she asked, rolling her eyes. You stared at her, your mouth open. Quite nice?! Quite the opposite I would say!
"Well... I needed someone to, um, take me... shopping, I guess. I'm just a human, and I have high reiatsu or something, so that's why I'm here. Kyoraku Taichou told me you would take me. I have no clothes... or food... or anything," you murmured quietly, wincing in preparation for an explosion.
To your dismay, her face immediately brightened.
"Shopping? Sure! I mean... I guess I have to, huh? I'm just a filler character and all, and will never be seen again, so I guess I have to agree!" she sung, obviously a failed attempt at sounding annoyed. You shook your head.

Now I know why he chose her.
"So, when are we going?" she pressed. You rub the back of your head sheepishly.
"Whenever, I guess," you replied. You watched, amused, as her eyes light up.
"Well, we can go in a few minutes! S-Since you want to go so bad..." she added. You raised your eyebrows as she ran back inside and slammed the door. You heard several bangs and shouts, but before you knew it, she was walking out of the door again.
"Let's go!" she exclaimed, taking your hand. You smiled a little.
"You like shopping a lot, huh, Midomi-chan?" you question. She stops in her tracks.
"No! Well... yes, but... not a lot. I'm only doing this because I have to, so don't get the wrong idea," she muttered. You rolled your eyes.
"Okay, okay."
~
"It's very different here. In the world of the living there's places called malls," you observed, eying the market stalls.
"Well, too bad for you," huffed Midomi. You pouted.
"I wasn't complaining. It's nice here. Old fashioned, pretty, and calm. I like it." you smiled, searching clothes racks. You bought yourself a white kimono with a turquoise sash, as well as a few Shihakushos and just some random hair clips and accessories. You also picked up some bread, fruit, rice, and vegetables, and managed to stuff it all into your basket.
Maybe if I wear a shihakusho, Hitsugaya Taichou's haori would look better on me... er, not that I'm planning to take it again?
"This is all, I think, Midomi-chan."
She held several large baskets in her hands which were stuffed with clothing. Kimonos were wrapped around her neck and thrown over her shoulders. Several hats were piled onto her head, and jewellery was stuffed into her pockets. You stared at her, but quickly looked away so you wouldn't seem rude.
"Hmm? Okay, if you say so. I do have more money, if you want, but..."
"Ah! No, it's fine. Thank you so much for all of... this. Hitsugaya Taichou is too busy to take me anywhere, ehe..."
She smiled at you, and you smiled back warmly.
"It's no problem!" she exclaimed, nodding at you. "Come over any time."
"Oh! If I, um, drop over in maybe an hour or two, could you take me back to my squad? I have no clue how to get back," you admitted, sheepishly fiddling with your baskets. She smiled at you again.
"Sure, I'm not busy or anything. My Captain doesn't seem to enjoy giving me any work..." she muttered ruefully.
"Alright, thanks again, Midomi-chan! Bye bye~!"
With that, you walked away happily, and through the houses. A few minutes later, someone called out your name.
"Hey, Y/N, right?"
You jumped a little, genuinely confused.
"Yes...?" you answered cautiously, as a girl appeared in an alleyway. She had strawberry blonde hair and beautifully bright blue eyes.
"Janni Lilyette, nice to meet you! Um, actually, could you please come this way for a moment?" she asked nervously. You nodded, and she grabbed your arm and pulled you into the alleyway. Another two girls appeared, one with green eyes and black hair, and one with both brown eyes and hair, blocking your exit.
"Uh. What did you need?" you asked, biting your lip in confusion. "I'm just saying, this is a very murder-y situation..."
The brown-haired girl glared at you. "Listen up, dumbass. We don't need anything. You've been hanging around our Captain, and you're just a human. Pretty suspicious if you ask me," she snapped. You put your basket on the ground, raising an eyebrow at her accusation.
"Yeah! What Rosa said!" piped in the black haired girl.
"Um. You guys...?"
"Don't 'um' me! If you're gonna deny it, we'll just have to make you confess."
