Vegas parked his car outside the Main Family. Pete then went outside.
"I'll pick you up before 10 in the evening." Vegas said and smiled to Pete.
"Are you sure you don't want me to help in the business?" Pete said and look at Vegas worrying.
"No, you did well enough besides I'm giving you a whole day to spend with Khun."
"That's a good thing!" Khun said out of nowhere and immediately grab Pete away. "You can now leave, Vegas. Sho! Go away!"
Vegas rolled his eyes. "Stay here at the mansion and don't go anywhere."
"What if I want to bring Pete at a bar?" Khun asked provoking Vegas.
"Then I'll make sure that the bottles you will be drinking fit into your throat."
"Vegas!" Pete warned and widened his eyes to tell Vegas to shut up.
However, Vegas words didn't even affect Khun.
"Whatever, go now and leave Pete to me. Good thing! Just make sure that you won't cheat or he you will never see him again!"
Cheat? It didn't even came across his mind.
When Khun left and started walking, Pete stay still.
"Are you not going?" Vegas asked when he noticed that Pete is just looking at him. "Look at your former boss, he's talking alone." Vegas said and laugh.
Khun thought that Pete is walking behind him so now, Khun was walking while talking alone.
"Pick me up at 10 and buy me food." Pete said.
Vegas smiled. "Yes. Don't you want me to go?" He asked after noticing that Pete is still not moving.
Vegas can only laugh when Pete tried to look left to right checking if there are other people.
"Pete. What's wrong?"
Vegas tries to look outside if Pete felt something suspicious but this is in a Main Family's territory. Pete is definitely familiar with everyone.
"Are you not comfort--" Even before Vegas finish his sentence, Pete kissed his lips.
"See you later." Pete said shyly and ran as fast as he can.
Vegas can only follow Pete's movement with his gaze as he smiles.
"See you later." He replied despite he knew that Pete will not hear him.
When Vegas can no longer see Pete, he tighten his grip and the calm face turns into someone- fierce, mad and defensive.
The barrier this cold Vegas always have came back. Now, it's time to protect what belongs to him.

Vegas received a sudden call from Khun Ja this morning, setting up a personal meeting as what the old Khun Ja says.
Unlike any rivals Vegas had, Khun Ja won't hesitate to fight face to face, information vs. Information. He isn't hiding for a long time that made Vegas excited.
All for once, Vegas can finally get the answers he wanted.
Vegas arrived in an expensive restaurant. He was immediately guided to a VIP area.
There are only few guards outside.
When he entered, Khun Ja was already waiting. He is holding a cup of tea delicately.
"You came on time." Khun Ja said and smiled to Vegas.
Without letting his guards down, Vegas cautiously sat at the opposite side.
"Did you like my gift?" Vegas ask first without giving Khun Ja the momentum to start the conversation.
"You mean... White's body?" Khun Ja asked and laugh a little. "I didn't thought that you'll be that harsh. His body was almost distorted."
Vegas doesn't even feel bad for doing that. After all, White gave himself a free pass to death. Vegas only helped him to easily go to his destination.
"Do you want some tea?" Khun Ja offered.
"Pete." Vegas said and looked at the eyes of Khun Ja. "What do you need from him?"
"Wah. You're not just harsh but very direct to the point." Khun Ja said in amusement and clap his hands.
That behavior made Vegas clenched his jaw. His patience was already fading.
"Isn't wrong that we will have what belongs to us?" Khun Ja asked him back.
"Belong?!" Vegas raised his voice. "Pete doesn't belong to any of you."
"He is Khun Vegas."
"What?" Vegas can only ask that in disbelief.
"He belongs to me, Khun Vegas." Khun Ja pointed himself and smile evilly.
"Are you his father?"
After hearing that question, he saw how Khun Ja smiled mischievously and places the cup of tea on the table.
"A father will always find a way to get his son back." Khun Ja replied.
"What if I told you that I won't let Pete go with you?" Vegas clenched his fist until his hands went numb and pale.
Khun Ja laugh sarcastically. "Do you think a son will not crave for the presence of his father?"
Vegas can only give a disappointed look. The way Khun Ja behaves is so different from Pete that no one even from the Main Family will believe that he is Pete's father.

The evilness in Khun Ja and the kindness in Pete will never match. How can Vegas let Pete meet his father, if he's evil?
Khun Ja looks at his wrist watch and prepared himself to leave.
"There is only one thing I'd like to ask, Khun Vegas. Do you think Pete will not accept his father if he found out that the reason why he grew up abandoned was because of Kan?... Your father was the reason why Pete grew up without his parents." Khun Ja said almost whispering at him.
"Goddamn fuck!" Vegas can only cursed and think deeply.
He knew that Pete always wanted to meet his father. There are times where Pete will tell him stories out of nowhere and will mention that he's wondering how it felt like to grew up with a father.
Pete grew up without knowing any details about his father. He also grew up believing that his mother died due to Pneumonia.
How can Vegas tell Pete the truth if he knew that his father was involve to Pam's death?
How can Vegas tell Pete that it was his father's fault that is why Pete didn't experience to be with his parents?
And now that Pete's father appear, Vegas knew that it will only get worse if Pete meet him.
Khun Ja isn't the type of person Vegas will trust.
If it's true that he is indeed Pete's father, Vegas will do everything to keep Pete beside him.
Now, Vegas needs to look after Pete from time to time just to make sure that Khun Ja will not approach and be involved in their life once again.
If killing Khun Ja will cover up everything so that they can finally move on... Vegas will consider it as an option.
I will not allow Pete to leave me.
After picking up Pete from the Main Family, Vegas noticed that he has been looking at his phone.
"Don't you think your eyes will get hurt?" Vegas asked as they walk inside the mansion.
They walked holding each other's hands but Pete's attention has been into his phone.
"Pete."
"Hmm?" Pete asked without even looking at him.
Vegas grab Pete's phone. "Why are you too busy with your phone?"
Vegas takes a look and found a text message from an unknown number. "Who is this?"
Pete snatched the phone back. "Khun Pat asked me if I can meet him tomorrow."
Vegas heart beats fast with all the nervousness that immediately give shivers through his spine.
Isn't just Khun Ja that was working to get Pete but also Khun Pat.
"Why are you going to meet him and where did he get your number?" Vegas asked frowning.
"When we met him, I gave him the business card I use." Pete explained and went near. "Maybe he just wanted to talk about business."
"No. You're not going."
"Why?" Pete asked as they went inside.
To be honest, this isn't the right time to go outside and meet Khun Pat or Khun Ja.
"I don't have work tomorrow. Let's stay here, first." Vegas said and sat on the couch.
Pete sat beside him and hugged him. It was like the comfort Vegas has been looking for the whole day.
"I think Khun Pat wanted to say something important." Pete still argued as he bury his head on Vegas chest.
"Then he should send it through email." Vegas sat properly. He places his palms on Pete's cheeks. "Don't go."
Pete nodded. "I won't but if it's really important, I will." Pete said stubbornly.
Letting Pete go out will only make it easier to Khun Ja to get him.
Vegas won't allow that to happen.
Four in the morning, Vegas intentionally woke up early. He prepared the foods that will last until in the evening.
He already prepared the clothes Pete will need for the whole day.
Vegas sneaked through Pete's phone and found a message from Khun Pat from last night that Pete forgot to read.
After knowing Khun Ja, Vegas knew that Khun Pat isn't someone that can be trusted. Khun Pat might looks like he can't harm someone but the fact that he's connected to Khun Ja is just making Vegas uncomfortable.
Vegas placed Pete's phone on his pocket, get his thing and went outside.
Vegas makes sure that he will get Pete's gadget and won't be able to contact anyone from the outside.
In front of the door, Vegas held his keys and locked Pete inside.
"Sorry." Vegas spoke softly and closed his eyes.
His hands are already trembling with the guilt he was feeling.
If I need to lock you up again to keep you, then I will.

Reinventing the Struggle
The (sort of) original working title for this was "Reincarnated into a neo-feudal world of mecha knights, I will reinvent the panzerkampfwagen and mess up the social political order!" or something along those lines. And honestly that's a good enough synopsis given the nature of isekai titles. This story is unapologetic trash but at least it's the least cringe stuff I have written so far, so here it goes.
