《Hide and Seek》Leaf Bug

Hawaii giggled as she began to wander around the room, poking her head in the kitchen. "I'm going to find yoooouuu!"
First on the list was Alaska. He hid where Hawaii could find him. Alaska always helped her out, too. Now where would he hide?
"Is anyone in here?" Hawaii stepped into the kitchen and immediately felt a wave of hunger roll through her. She climbed up into the marble counter and fished through the cabinet until she found some Lucky Charms.
Hawaii hopped down and chomped on the marshmallow cereal. "What was I doing?" She thought for a couple of seconds. "Oh ya! Hide and seek!"
The lei-wearing state hummed and straightened out her skirt. "I'm still gonna find you, nā hoahānau!"
Now who was she looking for? Alaska! Right! But where would he hide? Maybe in the fridge? There was a big one in the garage. Hawaii frowned. But could they hide outside? She couldn't remember. Oh well. She could at least check!
She bounded over to the kitchen door and went outside. The house seemed to give a simultaneous groan.
Hawaii skipped down the path, admiring the rows of lemon trees, apple trees, orange trees, apricot trees- there were so many trees. She looked back at the enormous house, which was speckled with grey-and-blue brick. The beautiful flower beds held many petunias, daisies, and marigolds.
She skipped down the path, which was lined with many vine plants, and immediate saw something that caught her eye.
"What?"
It looked like a little leaf- but it was standing upright! It had two huge blue eyes and little legs.
Hawaii got closer to the little bug. "Are you a bug or a leaf?"
It hopped closer, it's shimmering wings green and transparent in the sunlight.

Hawaii gave it a confused look. She held out her hand, and gently scooted the leaf-bug onto her palm. "But I don't understand. Why would a leaf need to be a bug?"
She let out a soft giggle as it inched around in her hand, tickling her. "You're so cute!" It hopped around a bit more, and then spread two very shiny wings and flapped off.
Hawaii stated at the patch of sky it flew off into for a couple of seconds. "Goodbye. Have fun!"
She continued into the yard, sitting on the swing that was attached to a willow tree. "What was I doing again?" She looked down at her bare feet and thought. She was going to the garage right? Well, what was in the garage? Hm. There were ice cream sandwiches. Her stomach growled. Ya! That had to be it!
Hawaii jumped off the swing and happily sauntered into the garage, where she opened up the freezer and got herself an ice cream sandwich. She then walked over to the swing and plopped down onto it.
She licked the ice cream as it began to drip down her wrist. Hawaii was doing something before this- she just new it! She probably got distracted again.
"You get distracted so easily!"
Hawaii scrunched up her forehead and tried to think.
Oh no!
She had completely forgotten! They were playing hide and seek!
