The Host Club wasn't doing anything. They were just chatting with one another as they were getting ready for the club to open for business.
Y/n and Haruhi sat away from the others at a small table, sitting next to each other with their backs facing the male members of the Host Club. The two sisters were both reading a book until Y/n yawned and placed her open book on the table, slowly putting her head on the surface of it, her arms cradling her head as she viewed the words in the book gradually get blurry as her eyes became unfocused and started to flutter close.
'When will this day end? I just want to go home and sleep...' Y/n thought tiredly, her brown eyes drooping.
Haruhi glanced at her sister and noticed that she was dozing off, causing her to softly smile in adoration.
Once Y/n's eyes were completely closed and was asleep, Haruhi placed her head down on her arms and gently rested a hand on Y/n's head, soothing down her shoulder length, wavy hair.
Slowly, Haruhi began to feel herself drift off. She kept opening her eyes, trying to stay awake, but her eyes kept closing. And it stayed that way as sleep took over her.

Y/n and Haruhi were entering the gates of a big and prestigious school called Ouran Academy. They were accompanied by their father who was wearing a black suit and his hair was styled in a low ponytail. The two sisters were wearing their standard navy blue and red middle school uniform. Haruhi moved some of her long, brown hair away from her face, allowing her to view the school more distinctly.
The bell to the school rung as the three Fujioka's made their way inside the high school building.
They eventually arrived to the Deans office. The sisters' father, Ranka, was talking to the Dean while the two girls sat away from the two adults.
"I'm happy to say both of your daughter's futures here at Ouran Academy is assured. Their test scores are nothing short of brilliant." The man praised.
"That's the trouble; they're too smart for their own good." Ranka let out a small chuckle. "They insisted on going through the entire application process without my help. After they'd aced the entrance exams, they even tried to persuade me not to come with them today. Can you imagine?"
"Is that right?" The man questioned and turned his head to look at the two sisters, his spectacles reflecting a flash of light. "Miss Fujioka's. Would you mind if your father and I spoke privately? You're more than welcome to explore the grounds, if you like. Of course, most of the students are gone for Spring Break, but you two might make some new friends even so."
"Go on, sweethearts. Let Daddy and the nice Dean here handle all the boring paperwork for you two, okay?" Ranka convinced with a small, reassuring smile.
"Alright, thanks, dad." Haruhi acknowledged as she stood up from her chair.
"See you later, dad." Y/n said before following Haruhi out of the room.
The two sisters walked down the hallway, silence taking over the atmosphere until Y/n spoke up, keeping her eyes straight ahead of her.
"Where do you wanna go first?"
Haruhi shrugged. "I don't know. Let's just walk and look around."
Y/n nodded as they proceeded to walk down the corridor. Y/n and Haruhi paraded up some red stairs that had two separate ways of going up--they walked up the right side of the stairs.

The two sisters continued to walk down the hallway but stopped when they heard birds flying by a window that's beside them.
As they looked out the window to stare at the blue sky, a clock sounded through the hallway. Y/n and Haruhi turned their head to the direction of where the clock came from and saw a door that was cracked open. A small hand that looked like it belonged to a stuffed toy waved its paw as a way of telling the two girls to go over there but it quickly disappeared behind the door.
Y/n and Haruhi's main attention was towards the double-doors now. They suddenly caught sight of a pink stuffed bunny, who was eating a banana, wobbling around.
"What-" Haruhi cut herself off when Y/n took steps forward towards the door labeled 'music room three'.
Haruhi followed after her sister towards the room. They both peaked through the door and saw that the stuffed bunny was staggering away, not holding the banana anymore.
It stopped walking and a powerful motor sounded throughout the empty room. A circle of dust surrounded the pink stuffed bunny. Y/n and Haruhi gasped as they witnessed the stuffed toy slowly go down the area of where the floor accumulated dust, the floor was now missing a piece of tile, making the surface have a black hole in the middle of the flooring.
"What the? But it's a stuffed bunny. How can it be moving?" Y/n demanded with widened eyes.
The stuffed bunny flapped one of its ears in farewell as it was soon no longer in sight.
"Hey! Wait! Hold on a minute!" Haruhi called after it, rushing away from the doorway.
The two sisters dashed towards where the stuffed bunny was but slipped on a banana peel. The two females slid forward due to the peel of the yellow fruit, making them plummet down the dark, empty hole in the floor.
"EH?! AAHH!" They both screamed as they fell down the hole.
Tears were pricking at the corner of their eyes because of the wind that was gathering due to them falling.
"When is this going to end?!" Y/n yelled as she felt like her heart was going to pop out of her chest, but only got responded with Haruhi's shouting and shrieking.
Once they both caught a glimpse of bright, blinding light, they tucked in their skirts by using their hands and waited for the impact of them landing.
Y/n came into contact with the floor softly while Haruhi landed in a graceful-looking vase, causing her rear end to get stuck in the opening of it.
"We're okay." Haruhi mumbled in easement. She then yelped when she felt the vase moving forward, making Haruhi collapse onto the floor, landing face first.
"Are you okay?" Y/n expressed concern as she frantically crouched down beside her sister. She glanced at the vase that was still stuck to her sisters backside before looking directly at Haruhi.
"Ow-w-w-w." Haruhi groaned silently in pain and then tried to remove the vase from herself. Her body went limp since the vase wouldn't detach from her. "Can you help me out, Y/n?"
The said girl hummed and got up from the floor. She grabbed the end of the vase and began to pull on it with all of her might, almost lifting Haruhi up while doing so. "It-it's stuck!"
Haruhi groaned under her breath. "Oh, come on. This isn't fair."
Without warning, the two females heard a case of something opening, making them stop what they were doing and look to where the sound came from, which was coincidentally right in front of them.

They saw a young boy that looked like an elementary student. He was wearing a green uniform of some sort but he had monkey ears and a monkey tail. He exited the piano and propped the lid up. Beside the boy and the piano was a tropical tree. It was a palm tree that utilized bananas.
"Excuse me." Haruhi called out to the strange young boy, catching his attention.
The boy flinched and quickly screeched. Haruhi began to wiggle herself towards him, Y/n helping her in the process.
"Um, hi. My sister got herself stuck in this vase. If you wouldn't mind giving us a hand, we'd really appreciate-" Y/n was interrupted when the boy jumped up onto the tree, grabbed ahold of a banana, then landed on the floor.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Haruhi summoned out to him.
The boy looked back at the two sisters and took a bite of the banana that was in his hand. He then disappeared and pink smoke took over his place.
"Huh?" The two sisters wondered with disbelieving eyes.
"He disappeared!" Haruhi pointed out in shock.
Suddenly, a smaller version of the boy ran out of the cloud of pink gas.
"Wait! Hey, please come back and help us out!" Y/n implored. The reduced form of the boy ran towards a small pair of doors and entered it. It would be impossible for anyone to step foot in that room unless you were the size of an ant.
Y/n and Haruhi groaned as they approached the tiny door. Of course, Haruhi wiggled herself to the door and Y/n assisted her. Haruhi opened the small pair of doors and looked inside.
"What is it?" Y/n questioned, crouching down beside her sister.
Haruhi peeked into the room and saw the young boy whispering something into the toy bunny's ear. He let out a gasp when he noticed Haruhi. He, along with the stuffed bunny who was eating a banana, ran away once they were caught.
Haruhi closed the small doors. "It was the monkey-looking boy and the stuffed bunny from earlier."
Y/n sighed with closed eyes. 'What's even going on..?'
Haruhi inched herself away from the small doors and looked inside the piano. Y/n followed her sister and took a glimpse inside the piano as well. The two girls sweat dropped when they saw a normal sound board.
Haruhi quietly grumbled. "Where'd that thing come from?" She questioned about the boy that appeared in the piano.
"I don't even know... There's no way that kid could've been hiding in there." Y/n pinpointed at the instrument.
Haruhi glanced around the room. "There's got to be some other way out of here, right?"
Y/n and Haruhi paused for a second before looking back at the small pair of doors that the young boy went through.
"Unless..." They both muttered in thought.
They made their way towards the bananas that were laying on the floor. Y/n and Haruhi swiftly grabbed a banana each and ate it.
Pink smoke appeared around them. The vase that was stuck on Haruhi was finally released from her. Y/n looked up and noted that the walls seemed bigger than her and the floor was way closer to her than before. She then gazed at the vase and realized that Haruhi wasn't there.
"Huh... Haruhi?"
At the call of her name, Haruhi's very small figure lifted the vase off of her and she let out a relieved sigh, stretching her arms up.
"Come on, Y/n!" Haruhi vocalized as she began to sprint towards the small pair of doors and Y/n quickly trailed behind her.
They walked through the miniature doors and started to walk through the small, unlighted hallway. Little by little, light bulbs lit up the wall beside them and formed the word 'female'.
"Female?" The two sisters read as they walked past it.
As they continued to stroll down the hallway, the wall lit up again but it began to countdown from three. Once the countdown reached the number one, the lights formed a banana and the bulbs blinked steadily.
Y/n and Haruhi stared at the light bulbs that formed a banana in confusion.
"Banana?" Haruhi observed.
Out of nowhere, the two sisters slipped on a banana peel for the third time that day. They propelled forward at a rapid pace, both walls that were beside them lit up as the girls past by them.
"Ba-na-na!" They pronounced loudly as they shrieked.
A red arrow that was aiming downwards lit up and the floor that the girls were about to fall on abruptly opened. Above them, the word 'caution' was organized with light bulbs.
The two siblings descended down the dark hole as they screamed, desperately wanting this to end.
"Not again!" Y/n yelled with widened brown eyes.
They were only falling for a second due to them suddenly being engulfed in water.
Y/n opened her eyes and quickly held her breath so she won't collect any water up her nose. She dived up to where the waters surface was and saw Haruhi's head already above the water.
"Are you okay, Y/n?" Haruhi examined with slight worry.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." She panted, steadying her gasping of air. "What about you?"
"I'm okay." Haruhi replied, swimming towards her sister.
They glanced around at their environment. They were in a large pool and on the surface there was a throne-like chair.
"How did we even get in a pool?" Y/n mumbled as she and Haruhi began to swim towards a latter that leads to solid ground.
When Haruhi placed her hand on the latter, a voice began to speak out to them.
"You've both cried quite a bit, huh?"
The girls looked over at who just spoke and saw a big caterpillar who had the face of a male human that was wearing glasses and was positioned on a large mushroom.
"You must have, to fill a pool this size. See, this water is an accumulation of all the tears you've shed in life." The caterpillar explained, his back facing towards the two girls. "This is both of your tears combined. It's rather impressive, actually. Looks as though you've girls been through more than your fair share of hardships."
Y/n and Haruhi stared at him with faintly widened eyes. 'How...?' Y/n pondered. 'How is this even possible?'
"Speaking of which, I'd get out of there if I were you. It isn't safe." He instructed, making the two girls bemused.
Just then, a sound of something emerging from the water was heard. The sisters looked behind them and saw a head appear out of the water. Two other heads popped up as well. There was a total of three girls whose heads were behind a small, dome-like glass. The girl in the middle had cropped brown hair and olive-green eyes, the girl on the right had long, light golden-brown hair and dark brown eyes, and the girl to the left had chin length tawny-brown hair that was bouncy and she had dark grey eyes.
The three girls began to swim towards Y/n and Haruhi, emotionlessly. Suddenly, the three girls revealed their bodies which resembled a robotic alligator.
Y/n and Haruhi shrieked at their appearance. Haruhi scrambled out of the pool and grabbed ahold of Y/n's arms to help her out, tugging her younger sister against her body. The three robotic alligators lunged towards Y/n with their sharp and strong teeth but fortunately she was already out of the water, clutching onto Haruhi like her life depended on it.
"What in the world? What were those things?!" Haruhi quizzed breathlessly as she saw the three girls that were attached to individual robotic alligators go back under the water.
"This place is way more dangerous than I thought." Haruhi further stated, her arms loosening themselves around her sister.
Y/n nodded as she gulped, moderately. She looked down and raised an eyebrow, removing her arms that were around Haruhi. "Wait... Are we back to our normal size?"
"Not yet. But we can take care of that for you," the caterpillar began as he blew bubbles from the pipe that was next to him, "if you're both interested."
Y/n and Haruhi neared the mushroom that had the caterpillar propped up on it. "What are you talking about?" Haruhi inquired.
He blew some more bubbles and exhaled heavily. "It won't be cheap, though." He looked at the reflection of one of the bubbles and saw two new people approaching him. "Ah. We have guests."
One of them was a tall, young man wearing a dark cloak and had a cat hand-puppet. The other visitor was a young, little girl that had blond hair and bright blue eyes, she held the young mans hand that wasn't occupied by the hand-puppet.
"Yes, hello." The male with the dark cloak greeted in a mildly eerie voice, doing gestures with his hand-puppet. "Might my little sister and I have a bit of mushrooms?"
"Of course. We can settle your tab at the end of the month." The caterpillar accustomed as he wrote in a black notebook.
Y/n and Haruhi moved closer and glanced up at him, using the mushroom to support them.
"You know, I think you're the most shrewd caterpillar I've ever met." Haruhi claimed, bluntly.
Y/n nodded and then stared at the notebook that was in his hands. "What are you always writing in there?"
"Oh anything. And everything." The caterpillar halted his scribbling once he consummated the girl's words and looked up from his notebook. "That's odd." He glanced down at the two girls, specifically at Y/n. "You said 'always' just now, and yet you and I have never met." He alluded with a small smirk as he leaned towards the girl with brown wavy hair.
"'Always'?" Y/n repeated, contemplating. "Did I?"
As Y/n thought to herself, the two guests from earlier took a mushroom each.
"That's weird, isn't it?" Y/n nervously chuckled as she focused on the caterpillar.
The young man with the dark cloak and his little sister took a bite of their mushroom and immediately glowed, the male flared pink while the young female flared blue.
"I'm getting smaller." The one with the cloak stated as his voice grew higher until it was changed to a jumble of noises while he grew smaller.
Eventually, the cloak was now on the ground along with a dark wig and a baby took the place of where the tall male was just standing. The baby extended his arms out as the cat hand-puppet fit around his blond haired head.
"I'm getting bigger." The blond haired girl affirmed with her eyelids covering her blue colored eyes as she grew taller and her voice became more mature. Her clothing got smaller the bigger and taller she got, making her white shirt now look like a crop top.
The Fujioka sisters sweat dropped at what they just witnessed. "I'm sorry, that's not exactly what I had in mind about getting back to size." Haruhi disclosed as her eyebrows twitched.
The sound of a door creaking open caught Y/n and Haruhi's attention, causing them both to turn around and see the baby go through the dark abyss that the door led to.
"Hey, look! That little baby's crawling away all by himself!" Haruhi publicized, looking back at the caterpillar with anticipation.
The blond haired female was sitting on the mushroom with one leg crossed over the other, a playful smile on her lips as the caterpillar traced the top of his pen on her chin.
"It's not any of my business." He simply replied, fixated on the girl in front of him.
Y/n scoffed as she saw him continuously trace his pen over the blond haired girls chin, her eyes narrowing. "Unbelievable."

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

There's going to be sections with lots of dialogue and little descriptive narration. ***Word of warning and advice. To save yourself the potential disappointment! The MC is mostly a pacifist! If you're looking for a super OP protagonist that uses his powers to get what he wants and to hell with the consequences, this story IS NOT for you. There are times when it should be obvious why, other's it's only implied. Either way, if you are expecting "shoot first ask questions later" mentality from the MC, regardless of how powerful he is, save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere. I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the readers and commenters of my story. It's all the positive feedback and comments that really give me the motivation to keep going. Honestly. It sounds cheesy, but it's true. So, again. Thank you!
