"How did we let them talk us into this?"
"It'll be okay, Haru-Chan. It was so easy to sneak in and wearing this uniform I really look like I'm in elementary school." Honey assured, hiding behind the wall corner of the hallway with Haruhi.
The two high school students were dressed in uniforms that belonged to their underclass pupils. Honey was wearing the males elementary school uniform, which was a dark green attire consisting of short trousers and a double-breasted jacket with lapels, under which is worn a short-sleeved, white shirt and black loosely-bowed tie. Haruhi, on the other hand, had a long, straight brown wig on and she was wearing the females middle school uniform. The girl was wearing a brown and white dress with darker brown loosely-bowed tie decorating the v-neckline rising into a nautical-style collar; the dropped waist sits over a pleated skirt which may be short, but not revealing, and black knee-high socks with black Mary Jane shoes.
"Yeah, you do. I understand why they wanted you to wear an elementary school uniform." Haruhi acknowledged, peeping her head out from behind the wall. "I mean, we are sneaking into an elementary school and you totally fit in, Senpai. What I don't understand is why they made me dress up in this middle school uniform."
"Alright men, it's time to initiate our mission." Tamaki spoke in a low tone, the Host Club was standing in a dark room, their eyes practically glowing.
"What do you mean?" Haruhi questioned, sitting next to Honey.
"What mission?" The short third year carried on.
Y/n looks at Tamaki, Kyoya, the twins, and Mori with confusion in her brown eyes. "Yeah, how come I haven't heard of this so called 'mission'?" She inquired with a raised eyebrow.
"I've assessed the situation. We'll infiltrate the elementary school. You two are going in!" Tamaki said with a determined look on his face, his stare being directed towards Haruhi and Honey.
"But where are we going?" Honey and Haruhi both asked nervously, sweat dropping.
Y/n gazed down at the floor, a shadow casting over her eyes. 'Sorry, Haruhi. Sorry, Honey-Senpai...'
"Why did we even bother with disguises?" Haruhi questioned, noticing the many elementary school students staring at her and Honey. "We stick out like a sore thumb."
The door behind them cracked open by Tamaki who was now glancing at Haruhi and Honey with the Hitachiin twins. "Oh, there's a reason, a damn good reason." He began as he saw Honey pull Haruhi's arm.
"This way, Haru-Chan!"
"Isn't she the cutest?" The twins awed at Haruhi's appearance.
"Look at her in that miniskirt. Haruhi looks like a little doll." Tamaki annotated with a red blush covering his face.
"So you just wanted to see my sister in a skirt, huh?" Y/n crossed her arms over her chest, a slightly dark aura surrounding her as if the room wasn't already lightless, glaring at Tamaki who was now sweat dropping.
Tamaki and the rest of the Host Club followed Honey and Haruhi to an empty classroom, entering it without warning Haruhi or Honey.
"So the kid's classroom is empty, is it?" Tamaki enjoined, rhetorically.
"This sure takes me back." The twins commented as they walked through the open doors with their hands in their pockets.
"I wonder if doodles are still on my desk." Kaoru thought out loud.
"Doubtful, the school changes out the desks every year." Kyoya stated, walking into the classroom after Hikaru and Kaoru.

"Let's check out the cafeteria after this." Hikaru suggested.
"I wanna see the old gym."
"Good idea, Kaoru!" Tamaki said, agreeing with Kaoru's proposal of checking out the old gymnasium.
"Hey! If you're gonna barge in here like that then why'd we have to sneak in here in these stupid disguises?" Haruhi whispered, staring at the hosts with a inscrutable expression.
"Because they wanted to see you in a-"
"Don't worry about it." Hikaru collected while covering Y/n's mouth, stopping her from finishing her sentence.
"There's no one here to catch us." Kaoru claimed, shrugging one of his hands out while Y/n firmly detached Hikaru's hand from her mouth.
Just then, footsteps echoed throughout the corridor, coming closer to the classroom that held the Host Club. Everyone in the room hunched down, hiding behind the desks to not be seen by the teacher walking by.
"If the teacher finds us-" Kaoru began quietly.
"-we'll have a hard time explaining why we snuck in." Hikaru consummated, glancing at his brother.
The two Fujioka sisters shushed the twins. "Shut up, guys." Y/n whispered, making the Host Club look at her and Haruhi.
"Keep your lips zipped, got it?" Haruhi pretended to zip her lips with an invisible zipper. The twins and Tamaki blushed, zipping their lips closed like Haruhi.
"These boys are helpless..." Y/n sighed quietly, slowly shaking her head in slight mischance.
Haruhi looked out the door once the teachers footsteps got further away. "It's alright, he's gone. But you guys, we came here to get the scoop on Shiro, so what do you think we should do now?" She questioned, gazing at the hosts as they stood back up.
"Well, here's something interesting."
The Host Club members looked over to Kyoya, who was standing next to Honey looking at some pictures on the wall.
"What's up? Did you find something?" Y/n examined while walking towards them.
Kyoya pointed at a picture frame that held a image of Shiro and a young girl playing the piano together.
"Hey! That's Shiro!" Y/n observed as the other Host Club members made their way to where the picture frame was.
"So he's in the Classical Music Club." Kyoya concluded, focusing on the picture.
"He looks like he's enjoying himself." Haruhi denoted, making Y/n hum in agreement. "It's nice to see him with a smile on his face. I had no idea he could look so sweet."
Y/n nodded, crossing her arms over her chest while leaning her weight on one side of her hip. "Especially since he has the attitude of an asshole..."
The club gasped at Y/n's language, except for Kyoya and Mori who acted indifferent about it.
Haruhi lightly slapped Y/n's shoulder, giving her a admonishing glance. "Watch your language when we're in public."
After that, the Host Club made their way to the elementary music room and stood outside the indoor window, looking inside at the group of kids that were in the room, but only one stood out to them.
Shiro Takaoji.
He was sitting on the windowsill, looking outside and blocking everyone out. One of his legs were propped on the windowsill while the other one dangled over the edge.
"There he is! There's Shiro-Chan!" Honey whisper-yelled, catching sight of the said boy. The club members saw a girl approach Shiro. She looked like she was the same age as him.
"Excuse me, Takaoji? I'm sorry, but have you been practicing the new piece teacher gave us?" She asked with a gentle smile, holding two books in her arms.

"The new piece? Not really." Shiro answered, glancing down at the floor.
"If you want I can show it to you." She offered sweetly. "Do you wanna come play it with me?"
"No thanks, you go ahead. After all, there's only one grand piano. You should use it, Kahmishiro."
The girl known as Kahmishiro stopped smiling for a second, then she showed Shiro a closed eyed, tug of her lips. "Thank you! I will then! And if you want to join me just let me know. Ha." She said warmly and walked over to the black grand piano. She sat down on the small stool and took a deep breath in before playing the keys of the piano.
Y/n smiled delicately. "She plays beautifully..." She then looks over to Shiro and saw a small smile on his face while his eyes were closed, listening to the alluring melody Kahmishiro was playing.
The door to the music room opens and a young girl walks out. She was wearing a elementary girls' uniform which was a two-toned uniform consisting of a pink pleated skirt with a long-sleeved, white pullover top with pink cuffs and a pink bib collar that covers the shoulders front and back, red loosely-bowed tie, white tube socks and dark red Mary Jane shoes.
"Pardon me, mademoiselle." Tamaki excused, catching the girls attention. "I've never seen a rose more lovely than you, my dear." He held out a white rose to the young girl. "Here, this is for you."
The young girl had a small blush on her face as she accepted the rose from Tamaki.
"I was wondering if you could tell me anything about that young lady playing the piano. Do you know her?" The blond haired male asked her, his violet eyes aimed on the young girl at the grand piano.
"That's Hina Kameeshido." The girl smiled, looking at Tamaki as she held the rose.
"Her name is Hina?"
"That's right, but you better not fall in love with her."
"Why?" Tamaki questioned softly.
"Didn't you know? Hina has to move away soon. Her dad just got a new job in Germany, so they have to move there at the end of the week." The girl explained.
The door to the elementary school music room opened once again. "What do you think you're doing?! I want you idiots to leave immediately!" A familiar voice yelled, their blue-grey eyes narrowed at the Host Club.
Tamaki walked over to Shiro and placed him over his shoulder, ignoring the young boys anger.
"Aah! Put me down! What are you doing?! Aah!" Shiro exclaimed and tried to get out of Tamaki's grip, but the blond haired male turned around and began to walk away with his fellow club members. He stopped struggling for a second when he saw Kahmishiro standing at the doorway. "Let me go! Just put me down! Where do you think you're taking me?!"
"It's time to go, gentlemen. Quit thrashing around." Tamaki calmly spoke as the Host Club continued to walk away, but Y/n quickly approached the girl who gave them information about Shiro's friend.
"Thank you for telling us about that talented girl, sweetheart." Y/n smiled at the little girl, who had a light blush on her cheeks, crouching down to be at eye level with her. She then looked at Kahmishiro with the same smile. "You play the piano wonderfully." She then stood back up and waved at the two girls before rushing over to the Host Club, walking alongside them.
They made it back to the clubroom. The lights were off, the only thing that's not making the whole room dark is the natural lighting from outside. Tamaki placed Shiro down on the red couch.
"What is your problem, you big idiot?!" Shiro shouted, bothered and annoyed by Tamaki's actions.
"I'm sorry but you're the idiot." Tamaki shot back. "You said that you wanted me to teach you how to make women happy. But that's not it, is it? You're not concerned with the happiness of just any woman. You've got your sights set on one woman in particular. You only care about one, and that's Hina Kamishiro."
Shiro's face contorted into a face of shock at the sound of her name coming out of the blond haired males mouth.
"But I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to help you with that." Tamaki continued calmly. "Listen, Shiro. I know that I told you, it's the job of a host to make women happy. But when you care for someone, you must find the courage to express what is in your heart. You have to tell her how you feel about her. You didn't come to me looking to become a full-fledged host. You want to be a full-fledged man."
"It doesn't matter anymore." Shiro began evenly, looking down at his hands that were resting on his knees. "I've run out of time. I just wanted to hear her play before she left for good. That's all."
Tamaki abruptly pulled open a yellow curtain once he walked away from the young boy. "That piece she played. It's Mozart's Sonata in D major for two pianos, isn't it?" Once the curtain was drawn away, a black grand piano was revealed.
"Wait a minute, since when is there a grand piano in here?" Haruhi questioned with a deadpanned expression.
"Well, this is a music room, after all." Kaoru said smugly, he and his brother leaning against a pillar holding a teacup.
"So why wouldn't it have a grand piano?" Hikaru questioned rhetorically.
"It is a music room, after all." Kyoya informed, sitting at a small, circular table with Honey and Mori.
"It is a music room." Mori repeated after Kyoya.
"It's always been there. We just had it covered up." Honey explained, eating a piece of cake.
Once Tamaki took a seat on the piano stool, he began to press down on the keys and play music, slightly shocking Y/n.
"He...he can play?" Y/n mumbled loud enough for her sister to hear.
"Looks like it..." Haruhi replied.
Shiro got up from the couch he was sitting on and continued to watch Tamaki. "Awesome."
Y/n and the rest of the Host Club smiled as they saw Tamaki play the piano, the music reaching their ears and making their insides feel relaxed.
After Tamaki was done playing the piano, he looked at Shiro. "For the next week you will spend your mornings, lunches, recesses, and free-time after school in piano lessons with me."
"But, why?" Shiro asked.
"You wanted to be my apprentice, right?" Tamaki quizzed with a small smile. "Besides, that young lady looked like she wanted nothing more than to play the piano with you."

A couple of days have passed and the day has finally arrived. The day when Shiro and Kahmishiro play the piano together. The young girl was handed an invitation to the clubroom two days prior.
All the hosts waited for the arrival of Kahmishiro. They all wore white suits with red and yellow ties. Y/n wore the white blazer with the tie, but instead of dress pants, she wore a black skirt.
The doors to the clubroom opened, allowing the bright light and rose petals to flow through the open doors.
Standing at the door was Kahmishiro. The Host Club stood on either side of the door with welcoming smiles.
"Welcome, princess, we've been waiting."
"I present to you, Shiro Takaoji's...", Tamaki guided his hand towards the grand piano. Sitting on one of the chairs was Shiro, "piano recital."
There was a small blush on Kahmishiro's cheeks as she caught sight of the young boy.
Tamaki pulled out the other chair that was beside Shiro and gestured for Kahmishiro to take a seat. "If you please, princess."
"Let's play together, Hina." Shiro smiled, turning his gaze to look at the said girl.
Kahmishiro showed him a closed eyed smile. "Okay!" She accepted the chair that Tamaki was holding out for her.
Without a minute to spare, Kahmishiro and Shiro began to play the piano. Together.
"This is really cute." Y/n smiled warmly, placing her hands on the middle of her chest.
Tamaki nodded. "We did a good thing."
"He loves with all his heart. So I guess that's one more way Shiro takes after you, huh, Senpai?" Haruhi stated with a gentle tone and a small smile, looking up at the blond haired male.
"Why, yes, I'd say so." He looked down at her, and Haruhi let out a small laugh.
- - - -
Ten days have passed ever since Kahmishiro moved away to Germany. Like always, the Host Club was open for business and the music room was filled with female customers.
"So you've been exchanging emails with Hina everyday now that she's in Germany?" Y/n asked Shiro, a small smile evident on her lips.
"Yeah, more or less." Shiro replied. "I like her but she can get pretty jealous for an elementary school girl. She'd be upset if she knew I was with you ladies, so let's keep this our little secret."
The girls surrounding him giggled while Y/n sweat dropped.
"Oh! Isn't he the cutest?!"
"His little girlfriend is so lucky!"
"I wish I had a little brother just like him!"
"Naughty boys are the best." The girl beside him said and kissed his cheek.
"I could kiss you." The other girl on Shiro's other side claimed and also kissed his cheek.
'I'm pretty sure that's the girl that he said looked like a carp...' Y/n thought, her eyebrow slightly twitching.
"You brat, what are you doing. Those are my guests." Tamaki grumbled as flames were practically surrounding him.
"Well, it looks like they've found someone they like better. It was so easy to steal your customers." Shiro settled with a smirk and got up from his seat on the couch.
He walked towards Y/n and pulled her down by her arm so she was his height. She suddenly felt a pair of small, soft lips connect with her cheek as Shiro gave her a kiss, catching her and the Host Club by surprise.
"I think there's a new host king in town." Shiro smirks.
Tamaki screams furiously. Hikaru and Kaoru had to hold him back so he wouldn't lunge at the boy. "I thought he'd make it through without exploding this time." Kaoru exclaimed.
"We should've known he was gonna blow up sooner or later. The icing on the cake was Shiro kissing Y/n on the cheek!" Hikaru added, tightening his hold on Tamaki.
Y/n stood up straight when Shiro let her arm go. 'I have no idea what he got out of that.'
"Shiro really does have a lot in common with Tamaki-Senpai. And I can't believe you got a kiss on the cheek from him." Haruhi said with an unamused look.
"Me either..." Y/n mumbled, placing her hand on her right cheek where Shiro had kissed her.
"I get the feeling that Senpai was also a spoiled brat when he was a kid." Haruhi stated further.
"I was not a spoiled brat!" Tamaki defended, turning his head around to look at the two sisters and point his index finger at them. "I was nothing like him when I was a kid! I was a sweet, innocent, precocious, adorable child! You hear me?!"
Shiro displayed a closed eyed grin and held up a peace sign.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022.
