(Steven runs to his house and bursts through the door.)
No, this isn't happening!
(Steven sits on the couch and covers his face when he suddenly remembers something.)
Heck, I forgot Peede asked for my help too! I'd better call him. *takes out his phone and calls Peede*.
*through the phone* Steven, what's up?
I'm calling you because of what you did tell me the other day.
Oh, really? Well, don't worry about it anymore, we'll manage on our own. Bye, I'm quite busy. *ends the call*
He sounded like he was upset. *grunts* Why is all this happening to me? Mr. Dewey died, Buck and Peede are mad at me, Onion is hurt, and my powers aren't working right-
(Steven's whole body turns pink after a long time without doing so.)
NO! *takes a deep breath and returns to normal* I know this is serious, but I'm not going to let a year of therapy go down the drain! I could have stopped all this from happening, but I was busy doing what my therapist advised me to do... *sighs* I'd better ask Gems for help now. None of them have come home in three days, I guess they must be out on a field trip or too busy with some extremely important Little Homeschool business.
(Steven warps into Little Homeworld and sees how in the whole place there is nothing but utter desolation.)
: What the-?
(A tumbleweed rolls by.)
Oh, just like in the movies... Wait a minute, why is nobody here?!?!?!
(A bewildered Steven scours a desolate Little Homeworld in search of the Gems who should be there.)
*yelling* Garnet! Amethyst! Pearl! Where are you?!
[Scene change to Bismuth's forge.]
Bismuth, are you here?!
[Peridot's greenhouse.]
Peridot! Lapis! Are you guys in there?!

[The center of Little Homeworld.]
IS ANYONE HERE?!?! A NEPHRITE!!! A QUARTZ!!! A RUBY!!! WHOEVER!!!
(Steven walks near the Little Homeworld warp pad.)
This is worrisome, Little Homeworld isn't usually empty.
(A silhouette of a Gem, carrying two strange cylindrical containers with her, emerges from the bushes. And she is walking towards the Little Homeworld warp pad at this very moment by sheer chance/convenience.)
*thinking to herself* It was hard to get rid of all these Gems, but I finally finished the mision. I can get off this crappy planet now.
(The Gem breaks a branch by accidentally and conveniently stepping on it, the sound of which is heard by Steven.)
Huh!? *turns around* What was that?
Damn, I didn't think anyone was still out there!
Who's there?!
(Steven runs to the warp pad and looks at the Gem who caused the noise.)
You?
Oh, why, hello there!
Is that really you? I almost didn't recognize you.
*giggles nervously* I-Is that so?
Yeah, you are unrecognizable, Spinel.
(The mysterious Gem had been Spinel all along.)
If it wasn't for your heart gem on your chest, I don't think I would've recognized you looking like that. Seriously, why did you reform in green clothes, and what's with that X? Not that it's any of my business nor do I want to pick on you, just curious.
The likes of you wouldn't understand.
Anyway, it's up to you how you look, who am I to judge you?
...
So, what brings you to Earth today?
The... warp pad?
Hehe, not literally, I mean what are you doing here. I Heard that a few days ago Homeworld was attacked by some bad Gems, they even poofed you, didn't they?
*fidgeting* Uhh, you see, about that-
Well, If you're here and you're fine, that means everyone on Homeworld is fine too, right?

Pfft! Heck yeah! I don't know what you heard, but everything's just fine! Homeworld has never been better!
I'm glad to hear that... By the way, I can't help but notice those things. *points at the containers* Are you carrying anything in them?
Uhm, you see... what I'm carrying in them is something very valuable to me. They're, uh... *looking around nervously* They're...
(Spinel catches a glimpse of a sign in the distance that has "Earth Souvenir Shop" written on it.)
Stuff from the Earth Souvenir Shop? Yeah! That's all I carry in these Gem containers- I mean, only containers. *grins nervously*
Oh, okay. I don't quite understand why you carry souvenirs in those things, but I guess you must really like Earth, right?
Yeah, you have no idea how much I love it, man! That's why I bought a bunch of those, uh... what was it, souvenirs? Yeah, that! *giggles nervously* Souvenirs!
I see. By the way, haven't you seen Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, or any of the Gems who live here?
Nope! I haven't seen any Gems anywhere!
Oh, man, you were my last hope.
Well, um, if you don't mind... I gotta go!!
(Spinel runs quickly to the warp pad.)
*waves goodbye* So long, dummy! *warps out*
Okay, see ya, I guess. What's with the insult? Wait a minute, how did she buy so many souvenirs if there was no one in the souvenir shop to sell them to her? Hmmm...
(Steven ponders, but jumps to the wrong conclusions.)
*gasps in shock* No way! She took them without paying and thought I'd scold her if I found out, probably why she looked so nervous. I'll overlook it this time, but the next time I see her I'll let her know it's wrong what she did. Well, she and all the Homeworld Gems are fine, and that's the important thing. Now I just have to find the Gems here.
(Steven continues with what he was doing without noticing anything, his powers of deduction leave much to be desired.)

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.
8 199Innocence: Exiled Prince
Victor Lawson; a son of a King. Quite a scandalous King, but over the years, he had proved his own worth to the people that he ruled not with force but with words. Yet, this story isn’t about The King. It’s about his son; a Prince in a frozen land, a noble-born with a pedigree as clear as the driven snow. The boy had everything; wealth, title, inheritance to the whole kingdom. Everything that could make his life of lavish luxury and comfort. Or at least it was promised to him, a promise he believed because he is the only heir to his father’s crown. Such abundance came with its own problems and restrictions. To him at least, it made daily life drowned out by the mundane and the inane obedience of others. Yet a few people make to his life, temporarily filling that void. Hope was something he had; If only he could break this mundane loop he called life. A harmless wish of youth, he believed at first. Or so he wanted to believe until he met a...
8 191Through All Our Faults
One denies the pain that lurks in their mind. Another has let themselves be molded into someone unrecognizable. The third seeks a life that lies beyond their reach, forever an unattainable dream. The fourth has given up, drowning within their thoughts. Four individuals, each so unlike the other, brought together against a force greater than themselves. Each carries weight on their backs, unable to find relief from their burdens. As threats and dangers continue to gather, the outcome will fall to them, whether that leads to tragedy or success. As they face beasts and foes, they'll have to confront their inner demons and survive. If they can't rely on each other, the end will come.
8 147To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
8 239Memories of the Bean Times
To those who have survived: I write this now, for I fear my death is imminent. Barnabas Schmidt wasn't serious when he said he knew what was going on in Paris. Thomas Sauer wasn't expecting to put his life on the line studying a mysterious disease. Julia Krause wasn't trying to join a cult. And the Holy Roman Empire wasn't prepared to fight the Beans. In the year 1587, the small farming village of Dijon in the Kingdom of France is attacked by seemingly immortal monsters made out of baked beans. As Schmidt fights against the Beans on the front lines, the Beans steadily approach the Empire's borders. As Sauer searches for the Beans' weaknesses, the Church of the Beanmeister paves the way for the arrival of the God. As Krause helps the Church, she begins to question her loyalty to the Beanmeister. Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Chapters are available earlier on the Bean Times website: https://beantimes.github.io
