(Mad inspo from a comic)
"Let go!" Ben growled, making a pathetic attempt at prying your small but strong arms off of his waist.
You giggled and held on tighter, lying your head on the bottom of his back. You were glad he was so much taller than you, especially because you were only six and he was thirteen.
"No way, you bean!" You cried, laughing and stuffing your face into his soft tan robes.
"Y/N!" He yelled again, finally wiggling out of your grip. He turned and knelt down on one knee, putting both hands on either of your shoulders as you looked at him with a pout. Everybody on the Resistance Base knew that Y/N had a huge crush on the Prince, Ben Solo.
And it stung, oh yes it stung, when he went off to spend time with Lenelli; who was a nice Jedi girl around Ben's age. Even as a small child, it pained you to watch your only childhood love fall in love with someone else
"I know you like me, but you have to relax, okay?" He nodded his head in your direcion and you nodded in compliance. It seemed you had this conversation every day now.
"But I don't want you to go!" You whined
"I'm not going to be gone for long. I'm just going to visit Linn for a few hours" he reassured you, ruffling your hair slightly. "Why don't you go off with your friends?" He asked
"Nooo!" You cried "They're mean! You know that!"
"I know, I know" he complied, looking down.
"Why won't you stay?" You complained, turning and sitting on his knee, crossing your arms.
He sighed, balancing one arm around your stomach to keep you in place. "Because Linn is my friend too" he decided

"No, Linn is your girlfriend" you huffed. You may have been young, but you were far from stupid.
He didnt reply, and he didn't have to.
"And you're my princess!" He cooed, making you smile as he playfully left a kiss on your cheek.
"You should tell Linn that" you retorted, liking the way you made him laugh.
"I will inform her!"
///
"Please don't go" you whimpered, letting your tears soak into his navy blue uniform. You rested your head on his back, just as you had done twelve years ago
Twelve years ago, it was easy. Whenever Ben left, he would be right back every single night without fail to tuck you into bed. Now, you were eighteen, and he was twenty-five; leaving to join the Grand Army of the New Republic.
Back then, you were just a little girl with juvenile feelings. Now you were both adults, and you had both fallen deeply in love.
He rested his hand over yours on his stomach
"I have to" he croaked, and you could hear his voice cracking.
You lifted yourself from his uniform and turned him around to face you. You grabbed his hands and clung onto his fingers, letting your red irritated eyes meet his brown glossy ones
"I love you" he blurted out, startling you. He had never said that before. You had assumed you were "dating" but neither of you really made it official. It just slowly happened over the years.
Your lips parted slightly and your eyes widened, shocked by the words. It felt like you had heard him say them before, or almost like you both knew it but never said it.
"I-- I love you too" you returned, trying to make light of the bittersweet moment.
He squeezed his eyes shut and pulled you in, kissing you passionately as long as he could.

You savored the sweet taste of his soft lips and especially the feeling of your hands through his ear length soft black hair. You knew you would miss him, and the thought of not being with him made you sob.
You cried together.
"The thought of not being with you--" he stopped kissing you, but leaned his forehead againdt yours "I can't breathe!"
You nodded in agreement "I don't want you to go" you said, your nods turning into frantic shakes no as you clawed at his neck and shoulders, trying to keep him close to you
"I know" he said simply, a single clear tear rolling down his cheek "But I have to"
"That's not Fair!" You cried, letting yourself slip from your strength as tears streamed down your face.
After the rise of the First Order and the beginning of a new war, millions of capable young men were drafted. Ben, despite being heir to the Resistance, was one of those unlucky men.
"You could get hurt! Or worse! You could--" you choked up "you could. . ." you couldn't finish your sentence. You didn't want to think of those horrible possibilities.
"I'm not going to. I'm going to come back for you, okay?" He said, working to wipe away your tears with his thumb "and after I become a Jedi Master, we are going to run away together"
You nodded, pecking his lips one last time "you promise?"
"I promise"
And with that, he kissed you on your forehead and left.
///
"Oh my God! He's here!" You squealed, skipping the stairs and jumping right over the ledge and onto the cold metal floors of the Resistance Base. If you weren't so excited for Ben's return, you would have noticed the pulsating pain in your ankles as the struck the ground.
Four entire years wirhout seeing Ben. And he was finally coming home
You sprinted out the door, and when you were met with the landing of the infamous Falcon, you caught yourself rocking back and forth as your heartbeat began to quicken just from the thought of being wrapped up in his arms again.
You couldn't have more excited. You were twenty two now, and Ben would be twenty eight. Your life essentially began Now.
Finally, you heard the hissing of the door of the Falcon as it slipped open. Even before it was halfway open, Ben flew right out, sprinting towards you.
You met him in the middle and pounced on him, both of you falling to the ground in a mix of tears and kisses. He squeezed you so tight that you worried you may explode, but you didn't care.
"Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben!" You repeated over and over, wrapping both legs around his waist and your hands cupping his cheeks to make sure he was real.
"I love you, I love you, I love you" he repeated just as frantically, kissing you where ever he could find bare skin. Your lips, your nose, your cheeks, forehead, neck, collarbones, anywhere.
You tangled your fingers in his long black curls, neither of you paying any attention to the cold wet grass beneath you as You continued to worship each other. Everything about him was just as you remembered it, minus a few scars and scratches that didn't phase you at all. Ben was back, and that was all that mattered.
"Don't ever leave me again, you bean!"
"I won't, princess. I'm home" he whispered, kissing you again.

This is a spin-off novel of AK – The Alchemy Kingdom. You don't have to read the other novel to understand or follow this one. It might offer some additional information and entertainment, tough. You can also check my other spin-off novel, Harbinger of Death, which will be more action-focused and a little grimdark. Even if you are not a fan of the genre, give it a chance. I'm adding some soft romance in the hopes to make it unique and interesting. I'm trying to improve my writing skills, so your comments and reviews are welcome. New chapters three times a week. The Ginsu Mage
Currently in queue: Episode 13 in progress. Set in the Aurora: Apocalypse universe.Updated every Friday. If it's not updating, I'm working on my other fictions. If nothing's updating, I ran out of whiskey. Be patient. The Gunsu Mage is a hot mess of garbage that should not be taken seriously by anyone. It’s a vaguely-GameLit spoof of Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomoni (In Another World With My Smartphone) where the MC ends up in another world and fused with his kitchen applicances, mashed up with fantasy western elements. Dungeons & Dragons meets the Wild West in an alternate high-fantasy timeline. Guns & Goblins. Cowboys & Wizards. Locomotives & Dwarves. Don’t expect great writing, accurate numbers, or common sense. Hell, don’t expect anything — just relax and let it happen.
