《Dangerously ~Chris Evans~✅》TWENTY THREE

"Wait, so you said I love you to each other and then got in a fight?" JJ paid for her coffee and stepped aside so Livie could order.

Livie quickly gave the barista her order before answering JJ. "Yeah. And then he left. Well we weren't really fighting when he left. I don't know how we left things. He had to get back to Boston. I didn't want to fight but he declined the call from Chace."

"Is that really worth fighting with him about?" JJ quirked an eyebrow.

"Yes." Livie shot back defensively, "Chace is my friend. I've not crossed that line with him since I started dating Chris. He said he trusts me."

"I can see why Chris didn't want you talking to Chace though after Saturday night."

Livie glared at JJ.

"What? Just saying."

"So what about Seb? Have you talked to him since he was all over that girl at the party?"

"He called me last night." JJ rolled her eyes. "I didn't answer. I don't get him."

"Me either." Livie wrinkled her nose in disgust. "I've gotta get to work. Call me tonight?"

JJ nodded as Livie grabbed her coffee from the counter, blowing a kiss as she walked out into the busy city street.

Livie kept replaying her and Chris's conversation last night before he left. It was true they weren't fighting per se. But she was upset that he had made the decision for her that she didn't need to speak to Chace. And she knew he was upset that Chace called her and that she did want to talk to him. Thanksgiving was coming up and Chris had asked if she would spend the holiday at his family's house with him. She was usually with JJ at her parent's vacation home. They had a beautiful place in Nassau County where they spent Thanksgiving as well as Christmas. Chris's schedule was going to be a lot more hectic as they were trying to wrap filming before the holidays. Which meant unless she went to Boston, he wouldn't have a chance to get back to New York before Thanksgiving. And that was the other thing that terrified Livie. Being long distance sucked. And he was only in Boston. What would happen when he was in other states or across the country. She shook her head to rid herself of thinking about that. Instead she thought about how he had said he was in love with her and a smile took over her face. She grabbed her phone from her bag and hit his name on her call log.

"Hey." He answered on the second ring.

"Hi."

"You ok? It's early for you to be calling me."

"Yeah, I'm on my way into work. I just called to say....that I Love you." She smiled as she said it.

"Now this is a phone call I could get used to receiving." She could hear his grin through the phone. "And I love you too."

"Good. I really hate how things ended when you left."

"Me too. I acted like a jealous idiot. Again."

"It's ok. You're my jealous idiot."

Chris laughed. "I will call you when I get a break."

"I'll be waiting." Livie responded giddily.

"Livie Hart." Livie answered her work line a few hours later.

"Hi Livie Hart." Chace grinned.

"Hey! Why are you calling my work line?"

"I called your cell but you didn't answer."

Livie frowned as she pulled her phone from her bag. Indeed she had missed a few calls from Chace and one from Chris.

"My phones on silent." She rolled her eyes. "What's up?"

"I have a question for you. And I totally get if you say no. I know that JJ's parents have a house in Nassau county and a friend of mine is selling their place over there. I was thinking of buying it. You know, having a place to escape the city occasionally."

"That's a great idea! Nassau county is beautiful. I love going there with JJ."

"So I was wondering if you wanted to come with me this weekend. My buddy is letting me crash there and check it out. I know that you know all the best places in that area. The house I'm looking at is 10 minutes from JJ's parents place."

"I would love to! But why not ask JJ? She's the one who grew up going there."

"Cause I've never hung out with JJ alone." Chace chuckled. "C'mon we always have fun together. We used to hang out platonically all the time before...."

"Before you hit on me on my birthday?" Livie teased.

"Yeah well if you remember I was pretty trashed that night. So obviously my judgement was impaired." He laughed.

"Ok I'll remember that. But seriously why not take Tessa?" Livie leaned back in her chair.

"I think it's a little soon to take her away for the weekend."

"You've been seeing her since the summer."

"Not exclusively. Come on Liv! Just say you'll come instead of trying to think of reasons not too."

"It's not that I don't want too. I'm just not sure Chris will be cool with it."

"So we'll invite JJ and Seb and Dex even."

"I guess that would be ok." Livie chewed on her lip.

"Great! I will let my buddy know it's a go."

"Just don't tell Seb or anyone until I have a chance to talk to Chris please."

"I won't. Thanks Livie."

"Ok, bye." She hung up the phone and immediately called Chris.

It went to voicemail. With a sigh she hung up and got back to work.

"Tell me you're not going away with Chace for the weekend?!" Chris practically screamed in Livie's ear through the phone later that evening.

"Well hello to you too." She crossed her legs underneath her plopping down onto her couch.

"Well?" He waited.

Livie groaned, "Who told you? I wanted to talk to you about it first. And it's not just Chace, JJ, Seb and probably Dex will all be there too."

"Seb told me. He didn't realize I didn't know. And Dex isn't going. So it'll be what? Like a couples retreat?"

"No!" Livie exclaimed. "It's not like that. Chace is buying a place and JJ's parents own a place nearby. He wanted us to come along since we know the area."

"You're not going to go though, right?"

"I was planning on it."

"You're kidding me right?" Chris let out an exasperated sigh.

"No, I mean I understand why you're not thrilled. But we're just friends. And JJ and Seb will be there. It's not like anything is going to happen. Nothing has happened with Chace since I've met you."

"Really? When was the last time you were with Chace."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean when was the last time you slept with him Liv."

"Before you." She pressed her lips together in a firm line.

"I know that's not true."

"You think I cheated on you?"

"No, but I know you slept with him the night of Seb's party. Which IS the night you met me."

"Well if you knew why did you ask?" Livie gritted her teeth.

"I wanted to see if you would answer honestly."

"So you set me up?"

"No Livie I didn't. I've made it very clear how uncomfortable I am with your relationship with Chace. And it's almost like you go out of your way to be around him to disrespect me."

"No." Livie shook her head, "I'm not trying to disrespect you. He's my friend. You said you trusted me."

"I do. I did. But after Saturday....."

"You don't trust me? I didn't do anything."

"So you say. But it's not like you'd admit it anyway."

"How about we just talk later?" Livie forced the tears back her voice shaking.

"Good idea." He snapped as the phone disconnected.
