"What is the matter with you?" Livie screeched in the phone to Sebastian.

"Currently? Or in general?" Seb stuck a spoonful of peanut butter in his mouth.

"Why would you tell Chris we were going away this weekend? I told Chace to not even tell you."

"My bad Liv. Chace called me to see if I was free this weekend to go to the county. I had a call coming in before he had a chance to tell me it was a secret. Unfortunately, that call was Chris and I asked him if he was coming."

"First of all, it's not a secret. I was going to tell Chris. Second of all, do you really think Chris would actually agree to go along on a weekend trip hosted by Chace?!"

"No I guess not. Honestly Livie I kind of forget you're in the middle of those two idiots. Chace is my best friend and so is Chris. Ugh speaking of hang on a sec."

"Sebastian Stan don't you dare put me on hold-" Livie was cut off as Seb switched the call.

"Hey man."

"Livie drives me INSANE!" Chris growled. "She's really planning on going on this weekend with Chace. What the hell is she thinking? She does this on purpose. And so does he."

"Relax. I'll be there. And Chace is a decent guy. I really don't think he has any intentions with Livie. Before she met you and before they.....well you know-"

"Yeah I know." Chris said through gritted teeth.

"Well before that we were all best friends. Chace and Livie hung out all the time just the 2 of them."

"Are you trying to make me feel better? It's failing."

"I'm just saying. Oh my Lord-" Sebastian pulled the phone back to see Livie was calling him back. "She's mad that girl. Hang on Chris-"

Sebastian switched the phone back over. "Olivia."

"I told you not to put me on hold!" She scolded him.

Seb rolled his eyes. "Do you need to finish yelling at me?"

"Chris is pissed at me now and probably won't talk to me. I wanted to be the one to tell him."

"I'm really sorry Livie. But my advice to you is to pick who you don't want to piss off and stick with it. I love you but I'm hanging up." Seb switched back to Chris with a chuckle. "Your girlfriend is reaming me a new one for telling you about the weekend."

"She probably wouldn't have even told me." Chris retorted.

"I think she would have. Call her. I swear if this is her again-" Seb pulled the phone from his ear. CHACE flashed across his screen. "I'm going to need an extra therapy session after all this." He muttered, "Chris I gotta go man."

Livie was being stubborn and wouldn't call Chris. And Chris was being just as stubborn refusing to cave first. It was silly and they both knew it.

They were leaving Friday evening to go Port Washington in Nassau County. Livie was in her room throwing clothes in her overnight bag. She paused as she grabbed Chris's hoodie he had brought to her last weekend from where it hung on the hook on the back of her door. She still couldn't believe he hadn't called her all week. Sebastian had stopped answering her calls because he knew she was only going to complain about Chris. She knew it was childish, but she didn't like him dictating who was in her life and who wasn't. Instead of throwing the sweatshirt in the bag with the rest of her clothes she slid it over her head and smiled. She really missed him. She glanced at the clock on her nightstand. Chace, JJ and Seb would be there in 10 minutes to pick her up. She grabbed her phone and called Chris ready to put an end to this nonsense.

"Liv, hey." He answered.

"Hey." She echoed softly. "Is this a bad time?"

"Um, yeah a little bit actually. Are you ok?"

"Yeah. I just felt horrible for not talking to you all week. I've missed you. I was being stubborn and-"

"It's ok. Look I have to go. I'm at the hospital with Mandy. It doesn't look like her dad is going to make it through the night."

"Oh." Livie bit her lip, "Ok. I'll talk to you soon."

"Alright Liv, bye." He hung up before she could say anything else.

She felt hot tears sting her eyes. Chris sounded off and she knew it was her fault.

"Hey!!!" She heard JJ call from out in the living room, "You ready? Chace is double parked!"

"Yeah." Livie wiped her tears away with the back of her sleeve, "I'm coming." She grabbed her bag and turned the light in her bedroom off. She took a deep breath and plastered a smile on her face.

The ride to Port Washington had Livie temporarily forget about how things were with Chris. Chace and Seb had her and JJ laughing so hard they were in tears. They hadn't hung out so care free like this in a long time.

They pulled up in front of what could only be described as a mini-mansion.

"This is the place?" Livie asked her jaw dropping open.

Chace nodded, "A little pretentious I know."

"It's beautiful. I love it." Livie shook her head as she stepped out of the car.

"Well my dear it is your home for the next 48 hours." Chace grinned.

"Did you know that Port Washington was portrayed as the East Egg in The Great Gatsby." Livie stated matter-of-factually

"We know." Seb groaned, "You're love for Gatsby is not forgotten."

JJ and Chace laughed as the grabbed their bags and made their way into the estate home.

"Well this is no Jay Gatsby Mansion." Chace flipped the lights on, "But I hope it will do."

Livie rolled her eyes at the teasing. "I guess it will be fine."

They were all starving by the time they got settled and decided to go out for pizza.

Squeezing into a booth next to Chace Livie did her best to not think about Chris. She kept checking her phone, but he hadn't called her back. Chace seemed to notice but didn't want to pry.

"Ok so tomorrow I was thinking we could go check out that mansion or whatever it was that inspired The Great Gatsby." Chace took a sip of his coke his eyes on Livie.

"You mean Sands Point Preserve?" Livie's eyes grew wide.

"Yeah." Nate nodded, "You've ever been?"

Livie shook her head slowly. "No, I've only been here during the holidays and it's either booked or closed. Are you serious? It's open?"

Chace nodded, "Yeah I checked it out earlier. I made a call." He shrugged like it was no big deal.

"Oh my goodness!!" Livie shrieked throwing her arms around Chace. "Thank you!"

"It's really not a big deal." He chuckled. But he was glad to see a genuine smile on Livie's face.

Chris didn't call back that night and Livie was going out of her mind thinking about him with Mandy. But then she would remind herself that he was probably thinking the same way about her with Chace. It was insensitive to blow off Chris's feelings and Livie had a horrible time falling asleep thinking of how she had messed things up with Chris.

She was excited, however, to wake up the next morning as they went on the tour of Sands Point Preserve. It was more stunning then she imagined and for a couple hours she felt as though she were truly in the 1920's.

They spent the entire day checking out different spots in Port Washington and by the time they got back to the house that evening Livie's feet were killing her.

Just as she was about to run a hot bath her phone rang. Chris! Finally!

"Hey." She answered.

"Hey." His voice sounded distant and Livie felt a pit grow in her stomach.

"What's wrong? I hope you're not still mad about this weekend. I really am sorry. I've been thinking all night and day about you with Mandy and I can completely see why you're uncomfortable with it even though I swear nothing has happened with Chace."

"Livie, that's what I want to talk to you about." He sounded so sad.

"What?" She was scared to hear what he had to say as she sat down on her bed.

"I kissed Mandy."

Livie felt as if she had been sucker punched as the blood drained from her face. "What?" She whispered.

"The other night. I took her home from the hospital and she was upset about her dad. And I was upset about fighting with you and it just happened. Livie I am so sorry. I feel sick about it."

"Did anything else happen?" She didn't want to hear the answer but knew she had to know.

"No, babe. I stopped it. I told her I couldn't, and she was just upset looking for comfort."

"Comfort in you."

"Livie I love you. I messed up. I know I did. I'm so sorry."

Livie was silent. Her thoughts drifting to her dad cheating on her mom.

"Say something. Please." Chris's voice cracked.

"I have to go." She hung up and set the phone down on her bed. Standing up she opened her door padding across the hall to where Chace's room was. She knocked waiting for him to answer.

"Hey." He pulled open the door, already dressed for bed, well undressed, in just his boxers. "You ok?" He asked full of concern.

"Distract me." She pleaded stepping into his room pushing the door shut behind her.
