The stillness is my companion as I walk along the lonely hallway, my feet kissing the cold oak-wood, appearing into the kitchen. Unfortunately it's common by now. The Wayne Manor becomes more gloomy when the silence buzzes through each rooms, if nobody is paying attention to it; and that's exactly what happen. No sounds of pipes, footsteps echoing in the corridor or creaking noises. The shadows stretches on all corners.
It's been a week since the incident, however I haven't seen Bruce. Not after our last conversation, at least.
I would ask Alfred if Bruce wanted to join us for breakfast out of curiosity, but it became a pattern to ask every day, despite Alfred shaking his head and repeating the same line that's written on his forehead; "unfortunately Bruce will not participate today, perhaps another time."
Nevertheless, I brush it aside, as I grab my spoon from the bowl that I serve for myself, stillness creeps up; starting to be a pattern every morning. I turn to look at Alfred once more, as he sits on the couch with the newspaper, scribbling his pen on it.
"Alfred," I break the silence between us. "Did Bruce tell you what he is doing?"
Alfred's expression flips worryingly, he frowns a little and nods. "Yes, he has. "
"What did he say?" I ask, grabbing my bowl and raising myself from the chair, as I head to the sink.
"It would be easy to tell you if you were part of his life from the start, miss Daisy. Unfortunately, I have an oath to him." Alfred flickers his newspapers.
I turn my head to him, racing an eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean?"
He didn't respond to me, instead, he focus back on the newspaper, and scribble the pen once more.
I hear a knock at the main door as I walk towards the main access to the stairs, but I turn my attention to Alfred from the kitchen. He immediately signals me from reaching the doorknob. Instead, Alfred insists he should do it. Alfred inches down the hallway and towards the main of the hall, he clears his throat and gently pushes the door back.
"Well if it isn't Alfred." A familiar laugh comes from outside. I quietly sit on a step and peek through the stumble to have a quick look; it's Carmine.
"Hello, Carmine. How may I help you today?" Alfred says with fine manners.
"What is this shit show you guys are planning?"
"What do you mean?"
"You know what the hell I'm talking about." Carmine spat, inching closer to Alfred. "Did you tell Batman to attack my men?"
Batman? Was Batman at the club yesterday night? Why would he be there?
"I don't associate myself with Batman, Mr. Falcone. You would know since nobody has any clue of who's behind the mask." Alfred presses his fingertips on Carmine's chest and pushes him slightly further away.
Carmine furrows his eyebrows as nods slowly and licks the bottom of his lips in frustration. "Where is Bruce?"
"Not available sir."
"Bullshit," Carmine protested against his sentence. "Where is Bruce?"
"What do you want?" The sound of Bruce's voice appears out of nowhere. I immediately glance at the sound of his voice, noticing he is standing at the end of the corridor. He takes a quick look at me before he turns it back to Carmine, walking towards Alfred and him.
The conversation continues with Carmine and Bruce, as Alfred walks away. I figure It's not my business to listen any longer, so I get up from my seating down and slowly walk upstairs instead.

I shut the door to the bedroom and decide to get dressed. I promise Katherine I would meet up with her on Election Day; which is today. I know Tom would be there but it still didn't matter, because if I can help as a voter, to not let him win, I will do everything in my power to do so.
Once I zip up my dress and push my hair in a ponytail, I slip into my heels as I grab my coat. The sound of the door creaking; reveals it's Bruce. He looks exhausting compared to most days, it's pretty obvious as I analyze his facial structures and the figure of his solid muscular body; the dark circles underneath Bruce's eyes confirm the tiredness. He is wearing black sweatpants and shirtless again; exposing the masculine contour of his chest as his muscles twitch from back to back. However, the newly made mangle scars around the abdominal muscles catch my attention.
I glance at him for a second, but he didn't say a word, yet takes a couple of steps closer to my small figure. I proceed to watch his movements as I slide my arms through the sleeves.
Bruce reaches closer before laying himself on the bed. Alfred did tell me he sleeps in the morning normally, sometimes at night if his mind gets some peace. However, i didn't expect him to go to bed by now.
My eyes trail off to his body sinking into the mattress, watching him stretch his arms to release the tensions from the muscles. Bruce let out a small groan before crossing his wrist together on top of his eyes; covering the countenance.
"Where are you going?" He rasps, finally breaking the silence.
"It's Election Day. I have to go." I mutter slowly as I fold the coat formally on my figure. Bruce quickly sits up and grabs a hold of my wrist. My eyes quickly glance into his blue crystal-greyish.
"No. You're not going." His voice rasps.
"I have to, I promise I would meet Katherine," I say, as I gently loosen his grip around my wrist. He takes a deep breath for a second and immediately gets up.
"You're not going alone then, I'm coming with you." I look at him and didn't say a single word, simply nodding in agreement.
The gloomy buildings with sharp edges and awkward shapes of windows, racing each other in a quest to touch the soft grayish sky. People littering the streets and sidewalks. Gotham City has its own extraordinary buildings and fast-pacing with everyone, and everything is moving.
I watch through the car window the congest sidewalks with people desperate to either go home or around the block, as the car comes to a stop near the opening part of the city.
I promise I would wait on Katherine as I stand with Bruce across from Polling Place; normally the cathedral would be the place to vote, but unfortunately it's being rebuild. People surrounding the expanses, queuing in two lines as they shivering due to cold. The sky is overcasting with clouds and chilly winds are blowing. My arms grabs the side of my coat, wrapping it around my small figure from freezing. Bruce notice my commitment and trails closer to me, embracing me between his big arms, caressing my back. My mind travels with an instant, remembering I haven't told Katherine that Bruce is joining us.
Some people recognizes Bruce and greets him formally, as well as congratulating his relationship with me; my eyebrow furrows when they disappear towards the line or takes another route.

"Why are they congratulating you? Is it weird for them to see you in a relationship?" I said in confusion, peeking at him.
"Yes." He said completely straightforwardly. "They expected me to die alone. He trails off. "And so did I." I frown a little.
Bruce inclines his head, glancing into my Bambi eyes. "It's all around the news. Alfred told me yesterday. "
Despite Bruce being a famous billionaire, it breaks my heart how unfortunate he was, having to deal with gossips and information being spread around; but nothing hurts me more than his thoughts about dying alone, without a significant other.
An old elegant lady walks up to Bruce with a kind gesture. Bruce immediately grabs my arm and wraps it around his, he leans over and whispers in my ear.
"Please, pretend."
I lift up my head, taking a quick peek into his eyes and nod. My eyes immediately darts to the beautiful elderly woman.
The hair is silvery white in coiffeured to perfection, no split ends or dark roots in sight. Her eyebrows are neatly shaped, makeup subtle and flattering to her best features, while drawing attention away from any imperfections. Her wrinkles are visible around her apple cheeks and forehead, but her crystal-blue eyes is taking the attention away from it. The white mink Faux Fur is covering her entire body from blocking the view of her clothes underneath, however her black heel boots is the only visible part to notice.
"Oh, Bruce! It's such a long time since I've seen you." She says with a warming tone, flashing a friendly smile and digs her hands into her pockets. "You were just a baby when I took care of you."
The lady looks at me and her smile grows bigger. "And of course, congratulation. I pray a marriage will happen for the both of you." I smile softly, although I'm completely shock by her sentence.
"Thank you, Mrs. Hall. It's nice to see you as well." He replies with the familiar husky voice of his.
Bruce hold his palm in front of the lady as she chuckles softly, grabbing it gently with hers. He leans forward and motioning his head downwards, brushing his lips briefly and gently on the top of her hand. The lady caress the side of cheek, once his lips parts from her hand. "How is Alfred? Everything alright?"
They exchange a little conversation, catching up on each other's life's. My eyes trails around to find Katherine walking towards the Roll Place. I quick peek up at Bruce, however, he is still focusing on the lady. My arm slowly unlock our arm together, but his eyes immediately darts to mine.
"You can continue talking, I see Katherine coming over." I say softly. Bruce trails his eyes around the area to finally take an notice of her. He takes a deep breath, nodding slowly.
Katherine stands in the middle of the sidewalk, crossing her arms with an arch eyebrow. Her eyes is already on me, as she must've seen me with Bruce. "What the hell is going? Why is he here? And you still haven't told me anything yet."
She says with a serious tone of hers, as I shrug a bit once my shoes comes to a stop.
She looks beautiful today, despite she looks annoyed. Her luscious long jet black locks is beautifully wavy with highlights. Katherine is wearing black high heels, a red revealing top and the oversize bra underneath, and skin tight black leggings blending with her leather jacket; it suits her intimidating and sensual look.
"Believe me. I will tell you everything, let's go." I reply and grab onto Katherine's wrist, watching her arms unfold.
We walk towards the end of a line and stand behind a woman and what I assume to be her child, waiting for our turn. I start explaining everything to her; from to good. How I met Batman, the Tom situation and what is currently happening. Katherine didn't say a single word but shock crosses her face, her mouth dropping and her eyebrows rose in surprise.
"So now..." I pause, finally coming to the end of the story, motioning my feet in sync with Katherine, once the line gets smaller. "I am pretending to be with Bruce."
"There is absolutely no way." Katherine says shockingly, scoffing in disbelief as she shakes her head.
"So that idiot of Tom, caused you damages because he is jealous?" narrows her eyebrows and chuckles once more. "Men."
I nod a little. "Absolutely."
Our conversation continue till we reach the end. Katherine and I sign over the keypad of the electronic poll book, before we receive a paper by the electronic poll book; however, I notice the name Tom Crawford written on the paper. My eyes trails around the names, until I finally see a familiar one. Bella Reál. The lady who spoke to Bruce at the cathedral. I haven't spoken to her before, but the commitment she has for the city caught my attention when I saw her on the news.
I immediately scribble my vote on her name, taking my ballot ticket to the ballot scanner, as I meet with Katherine. I have a feeling she would be the best for Gotham, and we never had a lady standing above men so it would be a great opportunity for her.
Katherine and I trails off to the main door; until i feel grabs from holding onto my arm and pushes me further away from the door. Katherine immediately turns around and her eyes widen in fear. "Daisy!"
My eyes quickly glances at two unfamiliar men grasp onto Katherine and forces her out of the building. I toss my head to the motions of the grip on my arm, to find out it's Tom.
"Now, I didn't expect to see you, Daisy." He says with a deep voice and smirks a little till he clenches his grip. "I hope you voted for me because after my proposal, you sure don't want to look like a traitor to your soon-to-be husband."
I squeeze my eyes in disgust as I raise my lips a little from making a grimace. "What the hell do you want?" My voice is lower than usual, but threatening.
"Now.." Tom trails off as he inches closer to my figure. "The proposal is simple. Your little friend contacted Batman and had my men beaten up. He also destroyed my plans. I had everything ready to win the election," He scoffs with no humor slipping out of his mouth. "So, I got my men to plant a bomb of his beautiful manor, expecting it to blow any minute." His smile crept back up. "If you don't wish me to do so, you will walk outside with me right now, and you will hold my hand as we head to my car. Leave an impression to the audience outside. "
My eyes went wide in shock, my heart is beating outside of my chest aggressively, holding onto my breath for a couple of seconds.
I didn't know what I could possibly do, but the only thing I could think about was Alfred. He is still in the manor.
"Did you hear what I said?" He grips harder and I Immediately nods. "Good."
Tom didn't loosen his grip, instead, he uses the strength of his hand to stroll my feet; taking the lead.
Everyone is staring in surprise, however, they start clapping. In their eyes he's a celebrity to the city.
Tom innocently flash a smile and hides his grip around my arm, waving the other ones to the crowd of people as walks towards a black jeep, forcing me along with him.
I'm panicking by now, eagerly trying find Bruce with my eyes trailing everywhere. The sound of Katherine yelling after my name but her voice disappears in the crowd of cheers.
We reach up beside the jeep, his chauffeur opening the car door for me. My eyes continues to the scan the area until I finally see Bruce around the crowd.
His expression is tightening together with his brows narrowing and walks around the people; however he is peeking everywhere, perhaps trying to find me. My body froze from stepping into the car, gaining the strength to yell for his name.
"Bruce!" Shouting as loud as possible, hoping it'll catch his attention. Tom quickly peeks at me and presses me against the door, forcefully trying to shove me in. My hands quickly grips onto the door, waiting for his sudden reaction.
Bruce immediately turns his attention to the sound of my voice. His eyes grows three sizes, locking it onto mines as his expression turns rapidly. He starts running, pushing each person from the crowd, quickly trying to catch up to us.
Tom grabs the hold of my hands and squeezes it off the edge, pushing me in and quickly sits beside me. He shuts the door quickly, yelling out of the window to the chauffeur. "Come on, drive!" He says loudly enough to catch his attention, running towards the driver-seat before he jumps in and switches the key onto the engine; the sound of engine goes off smoothly and constant noise of motor flowing.
Bruce reaches to the side of my door and punching his fist on the glass window. My hands quickly presses against the window, watching him struggle in anger.
My lips trembling as my tears begin to fill my eyes. I shut my eyelids in hope I wouldn't cry, but it's too late; it steams down my face. My choppy breathing and watery eyes made it difficult to hold back as I weep silently.
My brain constantly races in fear, overthinking every opportunities that could of happened. I should've stayed in his arms till the conversation was over between him and the lady; Katherine could've walked with us with no issues. This wasn't part of the plan, this should've never occurred.
By then, the chauffeur drives away at full speed.
