Zane freed himself from the shackles on his wrists. And there it was. The icy blue dragon. Zane looked up to see the opening to the cave. He slowly walked around the dragon into the open. Just as Zane started to climb, the dragon opened it's eyes and the cave shook, pulling Zane back time the bottom.
"Zane!!"
The nindroid woke up. Another dream. He looked up to someone unlocking his cuffs.
"Cole? You returned." Zane signed with relief.
"Of course I did. I made a promise." Cole said.
"Now, come here! You shiny new tin can!" Cole exclaimed, pulling Zane in for a hug.
"Can you feel the love?" Cole asked, a big smile on his face.
"No." Zane said.
"But the longer we stand here, the shorter amount of time we have to escape!" Zane said making his way to the door.
"Ha! You know, you and Morro were always the smart ones." Cole said.
The earth ninja peeked his head outside the door. No one was there.
"Let's go!" Cole exclaimed.
The guard noticed the keys were gone and hit the alarm.
. . .
Nya opened the door to Clouse's archives. She ran to the book on the pedestal and opened it up.
"Page 102... 122... Aha! Page 149!" Nya exclaimed quietly. She read the page in disbelief.
"Oh, this would change everything!" Nya said. She gasped at the sound of someone approaching.
Clouse just about touched the door handle when a guard came to alert him.
"There's been a breach in the factory. Master Cole has gone missing."
Nya listened and ripped the page off the book, closing it then hiddung behind fine if the book shelves.
"Release my pet. She'll make sure he doesn't escape. I've had it with the ninja running away from custody." Clouse said.
The sorcerer walked into the room, leaving the door open. He saw a white hand print on the book cover of his spell book. He tossed the thought aside as he left the room. Nya sighed in relief as Clouse left.
. . .
Cole and Zane turned left to run.
"Not that way!" Zane exclaimed.
"That will only take us back to where we started!"
"Unh. Maybe you should be leading." Cole said. The two came to a stop at the wailing of something.
"Ah, I-I am not familiar with that sound." Zane said.
"I am. We need to move!" Cole turned back and bolted away.
"I thought I was leading!?" Zane called.
"Trust me! You'll wanna keep up!" Cole shouted.
Zane turned forwards to see a giant purple snake coming at him. Zane took Cole's advice and sprinted in the other direction. The two turned and faced a dead end.
Zane placed his hand forwards.
"This isn't a wall. It's the body of a large serpent." Zane deduced.
"Come on! We have to find another way!" Cole exclaimed. Cole and Zane ran down a different hallway only to be blocked again.
"Argh. Another dead end." Cole said.
And another. The two boys ran into the center hall to see the snake closing off all other pathways.
"The serpent's strategy appears to be to surround us and coil inwards." Zane observed.
"Very clever."
"Yeah, well, my strategy is not to be eaten." Cole shot back. The two yelled out as they just merely dodged an attack from the snake. Cole and Zane were cornered now, only the snake in front of them.
"It was nice knowing you, Zane. I think this really is our dead end." Cole sighed.

The snake charged at the ninja, but they separated to avoid.
"Ah, I don't suppose you can freeze him?" Cole asked.
"Chen took my powers like everyone else!" Zane exclaimed.
"Pixal, calculate escape scenarios." Zane stood up and snacced the area.
"Pixal? You got a girl stuck in your head?!" Cole yelled.
"Calculating escape routes. Activating explosive shurikens." Pixal said.
Zane held his hand out and copper shurikens launched out all around him and Cole. They beeped then exploded, making the floor below break and the ninja fall through.
"Huh. I'm gonna like the new you." Cole said.
"We must move quickly." Zane said.
"Lead the way!" Cole exclaimed, the two rushed away.
. . .
The ninja still in the tournament was gathered all the remaining fighters in Kai's room for a meeting.
"Like I said, I ain't joining your little alliance." Shade said.
"Hey, this isn't about an alliance. This is about finding out who the spy is." Lloyd said.
"No one leaves this room until we find out who is passing information to Chen." Lloyd nodded at his dad who was guarding the door.
Everyone's eyes shifted onto someone different. Lloyd was fixed on Shade.
"Why you looking at me, greenie? I'm not your spy." Shade said.
"Perhaps I can help." Neuro used his power to read everyone's thoughts.
"I don't know who, but someone here isn't who they say they are." Neuro said.
"How do we know we can trust you?" Skylor shot out.
"Maybe I should use your power and see inside your head." She advanced on Neuro.
"I'd like to see you try, power hoarder." Neuro said. Skylor and him galred at each other until Kai ran in between them.
"This is what Chen wants, for us to fight." Kai said.
"But we don't have to. There has to be a more civilized way around this." Kai suggested.
"There is. Everyone who has worked for Chen has the anacondrai tattoo on their back. Find the tattoo, find the spy." Garmadon said.
"Anyone object?" Lloyd asked. No response.
"You don't have one, do you?" Jay whispered to Morro.
"Do you think he'd do that to a kid?" Morro asked. Jay shrugged.
"No, got away before he could try." Morro said.
Neuro stepped forward a and revealed part of his back. No tattoo.
"Can I go now?" The master of mind asked.
"Not until we checked everyone." Lloyd said.
"Who's next?"
Morro walked up and pulled back his gi. No mark.
"Let's get it on!" Griffin said enthusiastically. Everyone lined up and took turns showing no mark.
. . .
Chen sat in his throne room, enjoying and comfort of the kabuki's dance. Clouse walked up to Chen holding his spell book, looking all glum.
"You're hashing my vibe." Chen said. Nya sneaked back into the room.
"You better tell me they've caught the escaped prisoner." Chen said.
Nya rolled up the spell and tucked it in her kimono.
"Sadly, Master, not yet. But I have far worse news to report. Someone has stolen the spell." Clouse said.
"Do you need the page to do the spell?" Chen asked.
"Of course not. But if it gets into the hands of the ninja, the fighters will know we've lied, then they'll rise up against us." Clouse whispered.
Then we must find that page!" Chen said.
"Argh! Kabuki paint, uh, it gets everywhere." Chen exclaimed, waving his arm around.
Clouse looked at the spell book again and took note of the white paint. Nya got pulled into the open to do the dace with the other kabuki.

"Master, I have a feeling a spy may well be in our midst." Clouse said.
"A Kabuki servant? Well, well." Chen nodded.
"The spy may have the page still on them. Guards! Search every servant in this room." Clouse commanded.
Now, Nya was in trouble.
. . .
Dareth was listening to some rock music while signing along with a broomstick he found as a makeshift guitar. He accidentally flipped a lever and the sound was broadcasted around the island.
Before the guards could search Nya, the sound of Dareth's music interrupted.
"What is that racket?" Chen asked.
"It's coming from the island." Clouse deduced.
"It's coming from the spy. Find the signal, find the spy." Chen said.
"You heard him. Search the island." Clouse commanded. The guards rush out of the room.
"As for you, stay put." Clouse pointed to the kabuki.
"Dareth, what have you done now?" Nya muttered.
. . .
Back to the alliance meeting, almost everyone had gotten check.
"Well, only two left." Lloyd said.
"Uh, I hate to do this, but it's your turn. Can I see your back, please?" Kai stutered.
"How could you not trust me?" Skylor asked.
"I came to you with the fortune cookie. Or, are you just doing this to satisfy your friend there?" Skylor asked, pointed at Morro.
"I'm sorry, but we have to know." Kai said.
"Shade's gone!" Morro yelled. Everyone looked around the room. The master of shadow was new here insight.
"He disappeared through his own shadow." Jay said.
"There he is. Get him!" Griffin exclaimed as the master came into the light again.
"I ain't your spy, and I ain't your friend either. That staff will be mine." Shade said.
Lloyd charged up his energy and fired. But Shade disappeared as the energy hit the wall, making a portrait of Kai fall onto Jay. Jay knocked into the other masters, making a chain. Skylor fell towards Morro, and he caught her.
Morro gasped then immediately pushed Skylor off of him.
"Jay, are you okay?" Morro ran to him.
"ARGH! NO!! KAI WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF IN YOUR ROOM?!!!!" Jay yelled.
Shade reappeared and Garmadon tried to stop him from leaving.
"You cast a long shadow, old man." Shade disappeared from Garmadon's shadow and left the room.
"It was Shadow. He must have been the spy." Neuro said.
Morro blew the painting off of Jay.
"Ah-owww.... My leg." He whimpered.
"Skylor! Look, I'm sorry." Kai said.
"For your friends actions? Yours? What? And if you still think I'm the spy, watch me walk out that door." Skylor said. Just as she passed the frame, he revealed her shoulder. No mark.
Kai sighed.
"What happened to our alliance?" Jay asked.
"What alliance?" Lloyd said.
. . .
Chen lay down on furniture while one kabuki served food, another served drinks, and Nya, still thought to be a servant held a palm leaf like a fan.
"Kabuki are always pleased to serve me." Chen said.
"Isn't that right, kabuki?" He asked. The two girls giggled while Nya forced one out.
"Now harder! Really get into it!!" Chen yelled at Nya. She started aggressively fanning the palm leaf.
"Our spy tells me the master of lightning is hurt." Clouse said. Nya flinched and hit Chen.
"Ow! Too hard!" Chen exclaimed like a child.
"The ninja are weakening, master." Clouse said.
"What about their spy?" Chen asked.
"Have you found were the signal's comming from?"
"We haven't found anything on the island yet, but we will." Clouse said. Nya gulped.
The music was still playing loudly behind the water fall, as two guards air guitared away.
"What are you doing?" Eyezor, the head warrior asked the two.
"I was, uh-- I was head banging." One said.
"Mmm. Taking a break." The other said.
"Have you checked out the water fall?" Eyezor asked.
"Uh, yeah, it's beautiful." One said.
"Yeah, so serene."
"I meant for spies, you idiots!" Eyezor yelled, making the two flee to check out the water fall.
"Dareth? Do you read me? They're coming! You hear me?" Nya's voice said, drowned out by the music.
"They're coming for you!"
Dareth gasped.
"Savages! Uh, where is that cloak button?" Dareth ran to the control panel. The warriors were already there, and found the D.B. express. He pressed a button and continuously shifted the vehicle's appearance.
Dareth accidentaly made it into a larger vehicle.
"Now let's test what's under the hood." Dareth said. He drove past them all, turning onto a cliff side. The warriors got into their own vehicles and chased after him.
Dareth was screaming out of his head because he had no clue what he was doing.
"Somebody get me out of here!" He pressed a button and a little robot popped out.
"Autopilot initiated."
"Ha! About time you showed up, little dude!" Dareth exclaimed as he flipped on his ninja hood.
"Alright, boneheads. I got a bone to pick with--" Dareth's hand pressed on the shooting controls as he drove over a bumb, making his shoot a large rock and it knocking all but one persuer.
"Score one for the brown ninja!" Dareth looked ahead and his celebration was cut short by the view of a dead end. The autopilot not let go of the wheel and covered it's eyes.
"Bad autopilot! Bad autopilot!" Dareth yelled.
He pulled the manual controls to a stop and the vehicle flipped over, just before the ledge.
"I've been taken hostage by the savages!" Dareth yelled.
"You're on your own! Go on without me!"
Nya looked at her bracelet. The communicator was on.
"So you're the spy. Ha! The spell!" Chen grabbed Nya's arm. Nya kicked Chen off of her.
"Oh, and by the way, your feet stink!" Nya yelled, running off. Chen grabbed his staff to try and get Nya with ice, but the girl was too fast.
"Get her! And get that spell!" Chen commanded. Clouse ran after Nya.
"They've ordered everyone after some kabuki girl." One surperving guard said.
"What about the escaped factory worker?" The other asked.
"Forget him. Chen will make sure the other workers pay for his actions."
"Ah, poor saps."
"Poor saps?" Cole asked, hiding just around the corner.
"Hurry, the exit is just around the bend." Zane said.
"You go, I can't." Cole said.
"A ninja doesn't save himself. He protects those who can't protect themselves." Cole said.
"I have to go back. I have to go back and save them all." Cole started running down the path he came.
"And a ninja never leaves another ninja's side." Zane caught up with him.
"We'll get off this island one day, Zane. But it's either all of us or none of us." Cole said.
. . .
Clouse just about turned the corner when Nya jumped him. She used a lantern as a rope and swung around, kicking her chasers down. She used Clouse as a spring board and jumped onto the temple roof, throwing shingles down to slow the others. Nya ran further up the roof and escape the light.
"Don't just stand there, find her!" Clouse ordered. The warriors were searing the grounds like crazy, one at every turn. Clouse side jumped up to the roof, chasing after Nya in the night sky.
Clouse just caught up to her on an even surface, when Nya kicked him back again. Clouse kicked up, Nya dodged, Nya when up, Clouse ducked. The cycle went on for a while. Clouse started taking a more defensive approach and Nya was being forced to the end of the roof. She was kicked down, but kept going.
Nya jumped onto the wall at the edge of the courtyard, Clouse pinned her against the railing. Nya looked up and kicked herself down, escaping into the jungle.
"Get her and get that spell!" Clouse yelled in fury.
. . .
"My spy, have they found the girl?" Chen asked as the spy approached.
"No, but it seems you may have bigger problems to deal with."
A purple haze covered the body and revealed a brought orange GI and red hair. Skylor.
"Cole's got the metal man, father." Skylor said.
"Thank you, my child. The master of form's power has proved useful to you." Chen said, embracing Skylor.
"The ninja' stime here is done. Tomorrow, we will end this charade. Tomorrow, we will break up the ninja forever!" Chen laughed.

Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Arching Choices
This is a story I used to do with people in an afterschool club, where I would make up a story, that the user/player would have options to choose from no matter how creative. There will be multiple polls, and I will read comments for the actions of the player, any one can play, because the charater will be gender neutral, but the choices will affect the story, whether it be your companions, and items you acquire. I'm a newbie writer but I just want to have some fun making a story. The chapters will be short so that the viewers can make choices. Longer chapters will be made once this has some good choice options. I thought it would be fun for the readers to develop the character's personality. Critisism welcome, because I have no idea how to write stories. P.S, Once the Character's personality is fleshed out the Synopsis will probably change
