《Joker's Running Wild (Deltarune, Super Paper Mario, Kirby Super Star)》Chapter 4

Marx left Jevil with his thoughts. Jevil slowly turned around and went back to Seam.
"Hey, Seam?" Jevil asked his friend, lacking the enthusiasm he usually had in his voice. "Yes Jevil?" Seam responded.
"Are we unimportant?" Jevil asked. Seam turned around to face his friend. "What? Why would you ask that?" Jevil looked up, his eyes meeting Seam's. "I was just thinking about how nothing would change if we were gone." Seam looked down. "Jevil, where is this coming from? What's wrong?"
Jevil's eyes seemed to narrow a tiny but. "You didn't answer my question. Are we unimportant?"
Seam waited a minute, before answering. "You're important to me." Jevil laughed. "So we are unimportant. Thanks. That's all I wanted to know." Seam stepped forward and grabbed his friend's arm. "You're not unimportant, friend. You mean the world to me. You're the only thing that brings light down to this world of darkness. Don't forget that."
Jevil looked down, then smiled. "You're right. I'm sorry, Seam." He then turned away. "Come on. We have to get back to work. Those high class citizens aren't going to entertain themselves.
Seam followed behind Jevil. He hoped his friend was doing alright. Where was he getting these thoughts from?
Dimentio and Marx watched Jevil's conversation with his friend unfold, being sure to stay out of sight. "Dang it. It wasn't enough," Marx complained. Dimentio appeared to be deep in thought. "Yeah...his friend was able to calm him down. We need more." He turned to Marx and smiled. "How would you feel if you found out your whole world was merely a game?"
Marx rolled his eyes. "Uh, Dimentio. I already know that. That's why I'm here with you." Dimentio continued to smile. Marx's eyes went wide. "Ohh, no. You're not thinking of telling him, are you??" Dimentio nodded. "If he's going to eventually join us, he'll have to find out anyway. Plus, this is the perfect plan to push him over the edge and make him realize his full potential! He clearly longs for more in life. So we'll just give him more!"
Jevil waited about another day, keeping what Marx said close in his mind. If it weren't for Seam, he really would be meaningless. The world would probably keep spinning on just fine without him. But, thank goodness he had a friend with him. He sat alone in his room. Seam was out running errands, so he probably wouldn't be back for another hour.

He heard something. It was...music. It strangely reminded him of circus music. He turned around and suddenly, Dimentio was there, lying on Jevil's bed with his legs crossed. Jevil jumped back in surprise. "Whoa! Dimentio??" Dimentio stood up, then floated over to Jevil. "Greetings, Jevil." Jevil looked around. "I thought you said you and Marx were leaving. Why do you keep showing up?" Dimentio cocked his head to the side. "Because we like you? Why do you ask? Do you have a problem with us?" Jevil stepped back again and waved his hands. "No no no. I'm just curious as to why you're here. Who even are you guys?"
"Ah ha ha, that's exactly why I'm here right now. I have all the answers." Jevil looked slightly skeptical, then nodded. He really did want to know where these two came from and why Seam made it seem like the didn't exist. "Oh. So who are you guys?"
Dimentio teleported himself behind Jevil and grabbed his shoulders. "It would be easier if I just showed you."
Dimentio raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. Jevil watched as his surroundings changed.
Luigi stepped onto Flipside tower. He looked below. A bunch of people were running all over the place. "What is happening down there....?" He asked himself, before taking the elevator down.
In the elevator, Luigi tried shaking away all his nervous feelings. "You got this. You got this. It's just the most powerful, terrifying being in all the land. No Biggy. Heh...." He stepped out of the elevator, and immediately ducked as a scythe like weapon flew past his head. He looked around. There were flying spades and hearts and diamonds everywhere, along with running and screaming flipside residents.
What was going on? This looked like utter chaos. He thought when he heard Dimentio was taking over flipside that he would be more organized. After all, he wanted a perfect world. This looked like the complete opposite. "Whatever. This is probably part of his sick plan to take over and have access to all the dimensional doorways or something."
He heard a small child crying, causing him to immediately rush over to their aid. There was a cut on their arm. "Oh, don't cry. Shh, shh. Here." Luigi took out a first aid kit, which he usually carried on him since he was fairly clumsy, and bandaged up the kid's arm. "Okay, can you tell me what's going on?" The kid wiped some tears away and nodded.

"The clown came back from the dead, and now he's attacking us. He keeps saying that he's looking for his friend," the kid explained. Luigi nodded. "Okay. How long has he been here?" "About a day."
Luigi looked up. He couldn't see Dimentio anywhere. Just a bunch of flying debris. "Okay. Do you know where he is? Can you point me in his direction?" The child shook their head. "He's EVERYWHERE. I think he was first spotted from floor three though."
Luigi nodded. "Alright. Thank you. Go inside and be sure to stay safe. I-I'll try to take care of this."
Luigi took the elevator to floor three. When he got out, he heard music.
....but it wasn't Dimentio's music.
Jevil watched as the world changed around him. He squinted his eyes. It was much brighter here. He looked around. "Where are we??"
Marx rolled up behind the two. "Ah, there you guys are." Jevil jumped around. "W-whoa! What's going on??" Dimentio placed a hand on Jevil's shoulder. "Oh relax. Don't worry. You're perfectly safe."
Jevil nervously looked around. "W-what? What is this place? Where's my room??" Dimentio tried calming him. "Shhh, I know it's a lot to take in at first. Let's start slow."
Jevil took a deep breath. "Okay, okay. Who are you guys, and where do you come from?"
Marx rolled forward. "I'm Marx, as you already know. I originally came from a world called Kirby Super Star." Marx pointed over to what looked like some sort of file. Jevil seemed completely and utterly lost. "You, what?? You mean you're like....from a complete other universe. I didn't even know there were more people out there."
Marx smiled. "Yeah. I was living there on my own, wasting away for years before Dimentio showed up and found me." Dimentio nodded. Jevil, still somewhat lost, pointed at him. "O-okay. Then where are you from?"
Dimentio smiled. "My world is called 'Super Paper Mario.' Though why, I'm not sure yet. All of our worlds are still being developed, meaning the game's aren't complete yet. I was smart enough to know this, so I just teleported outside of my game. I didn't want to live in a world designed for someone else as a simple side character, so I started my search for another world. A perfect world. On the way, I met Marx, who had a lot in common with me. He also knew we were simply side characters in a bigger game, only his goal was to just have power and take over, giving him the freedom to do what HE wants, instead of whatever these developing games will have programed for us."
".....what are you saying? So we're all in a game? And everyone is just a player?" Jevil asked. He was trying to take this all in. "So....you guys are trying to escape before these 'games' are developed. Trying to achieve your goals while you still can?" Dimentio nodded. "Yes." Jevil stepped back. "W-why are you telling me this??"
Marx rolled up behind Jevil, making Jevil nearly trip over him. "W-whoa! Sorry Marx." Marx just shrugged. "We're telling you this because we want you to join us. We don't want to see you be pushed away, forced to be an unimportant character in this game."
Marx sighed. He just repeated exactly what Dimentio told him, almost word for word, back when Dimentio wanted him to join.
Jevil looked around, clearly overwhelmed. Dimentio sighed. "You don't have to make any decisions right away. We know this is all a lot to take in. We can take things slow and continue teaching you new things. For now, why don't we send you home and give you time to think.
Jevil tried protesting. "No, wait, I have so many more questions-" Dimentio snapped his fingers, sending Jevil back to his room.
Marx sighed, and looked at Dimentio. "Well, what's done is done. No turning back now."
