《The Lost Boy's Girl》Alone

Light streamed in through my bedroom window causing me to awake. The light hurt my eyes but it was comforting to know that the light could still touch my skin.
I looked around the room expecting to see my bedroom but I saw posters of singers and dancers. I had forgotten that I gave my room to Star and Laddie. Me, Sam and the frog brothers all slept in Sammy's room.
I could tell that Star was still mad at me and I think Laddie was a bit scared of me. I didn't mean to snap at them it's just so much had happened in the span of a couple days. My brain hadn't had enough time to process everything yet.
I sat up and saw Sam laid on the floor with a frog brother either side of him. They had both sworn to protect him in case I vamped out or something. I didn't even know what that meant.
I climbed out of the bed and stepped over the sleeping boys. I left the room and started walking down the stairs. Every footstep created a creak in the wooden stairs.
I walked in the kitchen to see Mom making pancakes.
"Morning Michael." She said cheerfully as she looked over her shoulder at me.
"Morning Mom" I replied rather glumly as I sat down at the kitchen table.
"I wish you guys could've told me you were having a sleepover. I could've bought more ingredients to make more pancakes." She complained.
"Sorry Mom it was a last minute decision thing." I replied with a smile. I knew that we should tell her about what happened but I didn't want to put her in danger.
"Well I'm gonna finish up this last batch and then I'm heading to work. There should be enough pancakes for all of you."
"Thanks Mom, but you really didn't have to do all that." I explained.
"It's okay I don't mind." She replied.
"Everyone up! Come on!" Shouted David.
My eyes fluttered open to see Dwayne, Paul and Marko on the bed with me. Paul stirred at David's words.
"Five more minutes." He complained.
"It's sunrise come on! They could be coming to ambush us right now." Explained David. I didn't think of David as the paranoid type but maybe he was.

"I'm not paranoid just concerned." Complained David.
"What I didn't..." I tried explaining.
"He can hear our thoughts when he wants to." Explained Paul now wide awake.
"What?!" I said panicked.
"I don't do it often kitten. Don't worry you can keep all your fantasies about me to yourself." He teased.
"What's happening? Is it morning? Why are we all awake?" Asked Marko in a sleepy voice.
"We need to figure what we are doing once night fall hits and those rats could attack at any moment." Explained David with a growl.
"I swear if they come near Marko or Ashley again I'm gonna rip their heads off." Growled Paul.
"Someone please wake Dwayne up! I've never known someone to sleep so deeply." Complained David. I had never seen this side to the boys. They were no longer joking and having fun but were furious and murderous.
Paul got off the bed and slapped Dwayne's leg in an attempt to wake him up. Dwayne rolled over and opened his eyes where David was staring at him.
"What's going on?" Asked Dwayne.
"We need to talk. All of us." Said David coldly.
"We need to show those little runts not to mess with us!" Exclaimed Paul.
"But what about Max?" Asked Marko from behind me. He sat waiting for an answer from David.
"Max?" I asked. We're they talking about video store Max. The Max that my Mom was dating.
"Video store Max." Replied Dwayne.
"He's the head vampire. He turned me and now we are loyal to him." Added David.
"What? How? Surely not he seems so human." I rambled. I mean he seems so normal. He owns a store and everyone is friendly with him.
"Have you ever seen him in sunlight?" Asked Marko.
"Now that I think about it no, no I haven't." I replied. I had never seen him outside during the day or the night. I had never seen him eat anything. I had never seen him do anything human.
"Because Max is head vampire we are all loyal to him. We can fight it but it's very difficult." Explained Dwayne.
"Exactly which is why we had to turn you and Michael." Added Paul apologetically.

"You guys were ordered to turn me?" I asked shocked at what I had just learnt.
"We are sorry Ash. We had to." Said Marko whilst rubbing my arm trying to comfort me.
"If it helps we all thought you were hot before we got the order." Said Paul. He always knew how to make me smile.
"We were gonna come see you anyway." Added David with a smile.
"Thanks for being honest boys. I appreciate it." I replied trying to reassure them.
"Meet me in the cave once you have all woken up a bit." Commanded David as he left the room. Paul followed him.
"Are you okay princess?" Marko whispered in my ear.
"Yeh I think so." I replied. I had no clue whether I was okay or not my brain was still trying to process what happened with Michael. The whole vampire thing doesn't confuse me at all it's like I knew this was always gonna happen. It was like my destiny.
Marko pulled my face towards his and kissed me deeply on the lips. He pulled away and smiled at me.
"We will always be here for you." He whispered.
"It's true." Added Dwayne whilst placing his hand on my thigh. I smiled at him as I placed my hand on top of his.
"Come on we shouldn't keep David waiting. Don't want him in a worse mood than he already is." I explained.
"Your probably right." Said Marko with a giggle.
"My lady." Said Dwayne as he offered his hand to me as I got of the bed.
"Thank you." I said with a smile. I liked the way Dwayne respected women. Yes it's a bit old fashioned but I love it.
He held onto my hand as we walked into the main room of the cave. He pulled me down to sit beside him on the velvet couch.
David didn't look happy whatsoever. I couldn't tell if he was mad, upset or worried. Maybe a mix of all of them. Paul was sat on the fountain nervously bouncing his leg and playing with his hair.
Marko came in a few seconds later and sat next to Paul. He put his hand on Paul's leg to calm him. They both smiled at each other.
"I'm sorry Ash but your brothers have taken things to far. We have to either get rid of them or they need to join us."
"Well maybe if I talk to them alone." I suggested.
"No." He snapped. I mean I expected David to be commanding but it still shocked me.
"Look I'm sorry but they already hurt you once and that was with me around. I can't let you get hurt." He pleaded but still had a stern tone.
I looked down at me feet defeated by his order. I didn't want my boys to fight each other. Michael and Sam just don't understand us and how we live. I can make them understand I know I can.
"Is that clear love?" He asked gently.
"Yes." I replied coldly. I knew it was for the best but I still had to try.
"It's okay Angel. We will figure something out." Said Paul reassuringly. I think he was more trying to reassure himself then me. I knew how close him and Marko were it must've really hurt him to see Marko like that.
We spoke about what do regarding Michael and Sam for the next six hours. Sunset was only hours away. We had decide to go feed and gather our strength and then confront the boys the next night.
"Ash, Marko, Paul go get some rest. Me and Dwayne we keep a look out." Said David with a smile.
I got up and made my way to the bed where I passed out straight away.
"Love wake up, it's sunset and you need to feed." Said David gently.
I opened my eyes to see an empty room where it was just me and David. He had his hand out in front of me waiting for me to grab it.
My hand slipped into his and he helped me to stand up. I got dressed into a random old band t-shirt and some leather pants. David threw a black denim jacket over to me with I put in straight away.
Tonight was the night where I was going to speak to Michael and Sam alone.
