When I woke up Hope was already packing her bag up. I stood up an walked over to her.
"I have to go before the modsteps wake up", she pointed to the north, "that's where the optics live, tell them I sent you".
She tossed me the backpack that Nadeshot gave to me.
She then crossed her arms, " I wouldn't go over without me though, Hex might be home and he's a little over protective", she shrugged ,"just make yourself at home".
She climbed up the tree and started walking on the tree tops. The scatter of the leaves and the pitter patter of her feet were gone.
I sat back down in the tree alone completely bored. I was quiet bored while my real life video game was on pause and I didn't have a cut seen to save me.
I then looked in the backpack, like it was as simple as looking through a packed lunch.
It had a compass in the front pocket with a metal lighter. In the main part of the backpack was two pieces of paper. One had directions to make a fire and a poorly drawn map. Probably both made by Hope, which made me smile.
Then on the side was the leather tube with the sword in it.
I took it out of the tube. The glass gleamed a hi at me. Dotted through the glass were little green pearls. The sword was gorgeous and impossible. It had to be able to brake
I hit it off the tree to see if it would brake. It didn't. It didn't even loose its shine.
I awwed at it letting my dorkness come out. I decided to practice my swordsmanship and started spinning it around playing with it. Pretending I could use it.
I started to spin it faster feeling more confident.

Well I did feel confident until I accidentally lost my grip on it and it got thrown into the crevice of the tree.
I dragged my feet over to the tree. The sword had itself imbedded in the floor of the crevice tangled in the tree roots.
I grabbed the end of the sword and tried to pull it out. It wasn't so mush the sword was heavy but it was really stuck in the tree.
The shiny silver handle fueled my strength, because God dammit I really wanted that sword.
I pulled on the sword again ripping off one of the roots.
BINGO
I started to walk out of the tree to throw the root outside when I heard some cracking. I looked down. The roots on the floor broke and a fell quite a distance.
I got up hoping I didn't get knocked out. Splintered wood surrounded me and the root was broken in half. The green life of it laughing at me.
I looked around to what I had landed in.
It was a circular room about as deep as a well is. I was curious how I survived.
The floor was wood awfully put together. The wood looked like it had gone through water damage with lots of moss and mold on the floor. The more I though about it, I decided the room must have been an old well. The over time a tree grew over it.
I looked around trying to find a way out. Over to the side there was a door that said emergency exit.
It was a strong wood door and the red lettering on it was faded. I tried to open it but it must have been boarded up from the inside.
I did what any natural person would do. Try to brake down the door.

I mustered up all the strength I could and slammed my shoulder into the door.
It opened slightly. I could see the nails from the boards, which I had predicted would be there.
I decided to try something different and kicked at the door. That finished it off.
The door swung open with boards hung from the side off it, only being held by the few nails that didn't fall out on impact.
The room which was dark with only one layer of light coming in, was dreary, but had ambition to become something great. Even though it was bout the size of a closet.
The ladder to the right led up to a open trapdoor.
Ok good,thought to myself.
I looked over at a metal desk that had some sort of markings on it. I opened the drawers. It had pieces of metal and a bag that was like the one Hope took from Josh. I opened the bag and inside was a green marble. I held it in my hand. It almost felt alive.
The ladder led to the stone path.
When I finally got up it was almost night which meant I had got knocked out or slept in for awhile.
I knew Hope would be alright so I went back down and started fiddling with all the things from the drawer. When it started to get cold I made a fire in the middle of the room hoping the place wouldn't burn down.
That night I started working on what saved everybody in my group and all of my friends life. Not a weapon or a potion. But a watch.

"EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings.
