《Mianite: Decay》Decimate

I was trying really hard to wrap my mind around what Martha had told us. Or for a lack of what she had told us before.

I guess we're sorta in another universe. Not like how Mianite is another universe. Like how the core inner workings of the universe have another universe.

Ruxomar is another modern worlds Mianite. Another moderns world fix up place, but people in Ruxomar don't seem to know that. Not even the gods knew of people that fell from the sky or a modern world. That's why people were so advanced, they had civilization and rules and laws because they started just like the modern world had.

No one fell here, and if there are other universes like Ruxomar and Mianite, it seems like no one just falls out of the sky. Except for Mianite.

The Spark that Ianite is married to isn't Jordan. Thank god because the thanksgiving table is screwed up enough with the family tree already present.

There are other yous in an alternate universe. Like an alter ego.

I have an alter ego. Sonja has an alter ego. Every living being has an alter ego. Even gods can't fight the separation of two different universes.

Just like Jordan, Jordan's alter ego, Spark, was an Ianite follower. Except Spark didn't fall from the modern world, he was raised in Ruxomar.

Spark loved Ianite so much that he built her a whole kingdom to get her attention, which he named Dagrun. They built up the kingdom and it became a place of unity, which made a lot of Ianite's move to it.

The gods were at pretty good peace.

This world's Dianite's chaos was good. He brought fun and joy and comedy to the land. He let people be who they were and he was a very excellent business man.

Mianite was a bit strict and didn't talk to his family lots, but he wasn't as insane as he is now.

The town was still a place of unity, even as it became a little more quainter with Sparks old age.

Atleast it was a place of unity until Spark had to leave on a special mission with my alter ego. He was gone for years and still is gone to this day. For ten years he's been missing.

By the tenth month that Spark and his crew hadn't been back, this world's Dianite was killed.

Ianite fell into a pit of dispair as she feared the worse. That Mianite had killed Dianite.

The goddess's sanity started to plummet and the taint started to grow. By the first year Spark was gone the taint had grown and attacked the town, killing the King's wife and daughter.

From that day on he banished the goddess never to call her his mother ever again.

We had the whole plan set to save Andor.

We knew where the Inertia was. Even though farmer Steve was taken captive he still found a way to send directions.

We had the R.V ready and set. Maybe not for medical care, but the soldiers will probably be to confused to try to stop us anyway.

Martha had made us fake badges. We are sneaking in by pretending to be tradesmen, selling some iron. Pretty simple plan from there.

We weren't even really that obvious with the blue, fur coats. We looked like random Mianite people walking around. (Well some of us were random Mianite people walking around, but still.)

Hope was back to normal, atleast grown herself stronger to the situation. She didn't seem lethargic and sad. She just seemed kinda pissed. She had even said in her own words, "I'm going to kick some ass and I want to see if they bleed bullshit just like their words."

"Gear shift, check." I put my feet on the front of the R.V. I'm going to be honest. I was just excited to drive a flying R.V. This was my Braking Bad dream coming true!

"What are you doing?" Tom asked and climbed into one of the beige seats beside me. He was decked out in the whole outfit. A blue leather coat with a fur trim. A badge pinned to his chest and black boots. Just sitting and chilling in shotgun.

"Getting us rockin' and loaded", I said out loud. I really meant to say that lame saying inside my head.

Now I'm embarrassed.

"You're such a dork", Tom started to lean back into the seat and shut his eyes. "Holy shit."

I put my hands on the wheel. "You know friends are supposed to give you confidence", I remarked, "right?"

"Not us", and Tom continued to get even more comfy.

Hope opened the R.V door. She hoisted herself up into the R.V , looming in front of Tom, who was dozing off. She then took Tom's arm, pushed him out of the seat, and took his spot.

He woke up as soon as he hit the cold ground. His eyes were wide with shock as the icy cold hit him from the outside.

"Hey", He yelled out, "That's my spot!"

"I get front", She answered with a bright smile.

"Well you know we could just give up this whole trip, and leave your boyfriend there", he then pointed to himself, "the only reason I'm coming is to save Steve and the only way I'm coming is in that seat."

I held my head, leaning down and almost hitting the horn. "They're like children."

"Or you know", Hope answered abruptly, "I could just shove you in a box and ship you to the Inertia and you could save Steve yourself."

He held up his hands, starting to stand up and ignore the snow all over him. "Fair enough."

Tom went through the front to get to the back seats, just so he could "accidentally" kick Hope in the face.

There was a few quiet more minutes, then some small banter as everyone entered the R.V. Sonja, Tucker, Wag, and Martha joined to the back with Tom.

"Hey Jordan?" Hope asked as I started up the R.V. "Do you have a little fire in the slot over there", she pointed to the A.C vent, "because there's a lot of heat coming out of it?"

I smiled at the question. I forget that she knows pretty much nothing of the modern world and how great her questions are. She once asked me if puppies and dogs were a different species. "You mean the A.C." I answered. "There's a fan in there and it takes heat that the R.V makes from running and-"

"Okay", she held her hand over my mouth, making me stop talking that instant. "Sure."

I looked back in the seat to see everyone in there special outfits. Everyone had there weapons tucked away and it almost seemed like we were on another adventure in Mianite, just with a few extra guests.

"Ready." I asked. Everyone nodded there heads or gave me a smile for yes. "Alright then."

And I hit the gas.

For the whole ride I only sat back and held my head against the window, looking down at the endless ocean we were flying across.

Jordan drove so fast, not for the sake of getting there fast, just for the fact that he seemed so happy. He looked like he was back in an old dream. Like he was doing something he hadn't got to do in a while.

Me, on the other hand, had my thoughts elsewhere. I was horrified, just thinking about what the Inertia could be like. Through the few other months it had been if I got to the Inertia I would have Andor back.

The more I thought about it, though, the more I realized that that wasn't the whole mission. What if I couldn't get through to him? What if I got caught? What if I finally got there and he was gone?

I pressed my head harder against the window, trying to numb my forehead from the could outside. Right now was not the moment to brake down. I wasn't a child anymore. I was stronger then this. I could do it.

"Alright everybody", Martha's soft voice let out. She almost gave a melancholy sigh, but then held through her breath and stood up straight. "Hoods up."

We all put our hoods up, the fur lining the hood blocked my vision of anything. That was good though. That meant this was a good disguise.

We guessed that not many of the minor guards knew who we are. Most of the minor guards would be guarding the trade parking grounds. Unlike if we just tried to swoop in from the front lines like Steve had tried. This was a lot safer idea.

After at least ten minutes of Jordan trying to figure out how to fucking land this thing, he hopped out of the R.V and adjusted his hood one more time.

The Inertia was huge, no huge was an understatement, it was ginormous. Everything was metal, and by everything. I. Mean. Everything. Not a spot of nature was to be found. The buildings didn't even look like buildings. They looked like metal boxes.

There were these huge circular chimneys puffing out something that smelled worse than smoke. The only ventilation I could see was a few metal fans jutting out of the bigger building.

It was like a metal village with square houses and dirty air. To compliment the whole component of rust and coal and gas that laced the water, the ocean right under there silver island was black. A stirring pitch black.

A guard, with blue and white armor had a gun at his side.

The gun wasn't a pistol or a shotgun. It was green and had a strange earthy fluid peeking out of a beaker attached to it. The gun, which each guard had at there side, was more bulky and looked a lot more advanced.

I could even tell from the nervous glances Jordan was giving us that he thought it was advanced.

"Badges please", The man ,with the badge that said Tom, asked.

We all handed him our badges and I tried to keep my head low, just in case someone noticed me. I was trying to pull off me literally trying to dive into my coat just being cold. I shoved my hands in my pockets, pleading that it would help my case more.

The the guard who was named Tom scanned our badges with some thing that gave of this red light from a little plastic thingy that looked like a shower faucet-.

"We can look over everything later", our Tom grabbed at my hand and pulled me along, "but we got to go."

Wag and Jordan carried the boxes that were supposed to be filled with iron, but were really filled with nothing. They whispered to each other and I couldn't only get hints of their conversation.

"Did you see those weapons?", Wag whispered.

"I know", Jordan hissed back, "the modern world's military doesn't even have stuff like that!"

We continued to walk in silence after that. The scary green gun was still tapered to Guard Tom's side.

We then got to a landing that was a few inches off of the snowy ground. In it were a bunch of wooden pallets and brown boxes, which had been the most natural thing I had seen so far.

Guard Tom grabbed a crowbar and opened up our boxes. He then stopped suddenly and held tighter around the crowbar.

"Where's the iron?!" He asked sternly.

Wag gave an innocent grin. He would be the one they would know the least. "There's not iron in those boxes?" He tried to act dumb and the very stupid plan was actually convincing.

Guard Tom gave us a strange look, then sighed rubbing his temples. "Stay here. I'm going to get my supervisor."

Guard Tom trudged off in the snow, not leaving some very nice words as he left.

Our Tom stepped back a little to relax his muscles.

"Oh fuck", Tom swore and then lifted his boot. He seemed like he stepped on something. "What the hell."

Jordan kneeled down and brushed the snow off of something. Something very small and red.

"It's a crab apple." Jordan held up the small, shriveled up round apple in his hand.

Tom then grew one of his very simplistic evil smiles. "Steve you sneaky bugger."

I then realized that there were a whole trail of crab apples leading us to one very special metal house.

Farmer Steve truly was a Dianite. He had to had thought up of that plan in the blink of the eye, and that plan took wits. I mean, bloody hell, if he was able to get that path going no wonder he was able to get a letter out.

The prison box, which is what I was calling the buildings now because they literally looked like shipping boxes, was one of the smaller ones in the metal lot. It had slots about a meter wide with metal bars and a door that was completely open. Nothing was blocked by the wind and even inside was as cold as outside.

In the prison box, which looked about as big as a boxcar, had lots of cells lined up. The floor was cement and the bars were clean silver. At least I could see from the spot I was stuck at that the cells had plenty of blankets on a futon and a slot to get food in.

"Steve", I yelled out, "were here to save you!"

Tucker shushed me.

"Oy!" And there was that Australian accent that always bossed me around, "over here mate!"

His voice was coming from the end of the cells. I pointed to the direction for Martha, who was too confused at the moment to find anything on her own.

"Oh Steve", her light little voice let out.

She ran down the hall lined with metal bars until she was at the bars that belonged to Steve's cell.

She held on to the bars, even though her hands were probably freezing cold. "Oh Steve, you look horrible." She fussed.

He didn't even look that bad. Sure he had a few bruises and there was snow on his chin that he hadn't been able to shave. Nothing a little booze couldn't fix.

"I'm not as bad as squirts going to be", Steve leaned up from the estrange spot he was sitting in. He then moved his gaze to us. "Find the key so we can find Andor and get him the hell out of here."

"How?" Jordan asked. I almost felt like he was about to get out a notepad and take notes.

"On the side over there", he pointed to the right side of the jail cells, "is this safe. It has some sort of codes with shapes and numbers and things."

Jordan groaned. "- I bet it's just geometry-."

"Yeah mate", Steve hissed, "well I ain't smart. So get it!"

Jordan trudged over to the safe and started to maul over it. If anybody could figure out the puzzle it was him.

"What are we looking at here?" Hope asked. I could tell her mind was occupied on something else, which was reasonable.

Steve whistled, which was never a good thing. That was his 'holy smokes' whistle. "Well I wish I wasn't telling you this, but they're not just using the Inertia as a prison.-"

Hope sighed. "Oh no-"

"- it's like they're running some fucking slave camp or something." Steve continued. "They use this as a factory for only Mianite knows what!"

Hopes eyes widened and she got even paler, "is he-"

"No", Steve shook his head hastily, "they have him hidden."

"Why?" Hope continued to ask questions.

"They're not allowed to arrest anyone with royal blood." He squinted his eyes at Hope. "They use the law to try to keep Mianite's safe."

"So this Mianite", Tucker asked, "he kinda runs everything? In this world? Because it seems like you can't be with any other God."

"Yes", Martha spoke quietly, "that is about how it works anymore."

"Seriously", Jordan yelled from over by the safe. "You don't know how to find a circumference!"

"Just get it done!" I practically screamed over to him. I'm surprised nobody heard us.

"So here's the plan." And Steve gave us the low down. "They have Andor hidden in some of the lowest parts of this place. Right by the mines. I got a map quickly and hid it in my coat", he laughed a little to himself, "those blokes should check the peasants better. I heard another guard talk about how the Lieutenant had him in the hidden room under the fan." He pointed to us. "You seen those big chimneys they have."

We nodded our heads yes.

"Well they have a big fan pumping out all of the dirty air from the mining area. Andor is under there."

Hope still looked extremely pale and a little green. She was almost burning inside on the factors we were just noticing, the conditions here were sick. "Why did they stick him under there?"

Steve shrugged. He didn't have all the answers.

Hope sighed again, deeper this time, and stood up to look out at the door. I think she was trying to freeze her eyes with the cold crisp air so she wouldn't cry.

"Got it", Jordan said triumphantly, "I got the key."

He then humbly walked over with a gate that made him look like a really cheap version of sheriff woody.

"You're free sergeant", Jordan spun the key in his hand then tossed it to Martha. He then tipped up his imaginary cowboy hat, "take it as a warning this time."

Martha didn't spend much time wondering over Jordan's act. She just opened the cell door.

"Stop", Hope gave out with no monotone, but you could tell by the corners of her mouth that she was trying to forge down a smile.

Then suddenly a siren went off. A loud siren that made me want to rip my ears off. I wish I knew where the school bell was so I could throw a rock at it.

Prisoner escape. Prisoner escape. The no monotoned voice seemed to be buzzing through my head. Was this their version of a loud speaker! Contact the Lieutenant for immediate directions!

"Shit!" Steve yelled out, "We got to go."

We all mechanically grabbed our weapon and gripped them on our hands. With the clatter of boots and the snow flying under our feet we were gone to save Andor.

We ran across an old cement bridge. We hadn't seen any guards yet. Steve had us being taken a safer direction. Not that we weren't ready to fight. I'm not sure where they had all of their good fighters, but Steve said they weren't here. The Lieutenant loosened down on soldiers for some reason.

The buildings by us were getting bigger and the smoke was getting thicker. The chimneys were letting out more smoke and the air was getting chillier. I looked up to see a statue in the middle of these four buildings that were bigger then anything we had seen. The statue was moderately tall, but I could tell that it was Mianite. Blue metals and the pure gold used gave me enough hints.

We ran through the entrance of one of the bigger four buildings. There was equipment everywhere. Equipment that I knew from the modern world. How did they get it?

Coal dust and smoke was covering everything. The floor and the ceilings seemed like they could have been pitch black. Even the statue of their one true God was dingy with black soot.

I could see the spots that workers must have once stood, but were now back in their cells due to our entrance. Shoeless footprints glided through the black dust in the floor out of the direction to a smaller building. Around the size that Steve had stayed in.

Steve took us up a flights of stairs that lead us through winding paths on the second floor. Still we stayed alert and prepared with weapons in hands. We were even going surprisingly fast even through the different rights and lefts.

"This way to the mines", Steve said.

And his words lead to a long hallway with a metal door at the end of it. A door with rust on it. A door that just looked barely open.

Steve practically slammed through the door. The rust couldn't even have tried to stop him.

We all entered into a circular room. A huge circular room. Under us was a grate that barley hid a huge fan.

Thankfully the fan was turned off with dirt and dust hanging off of its wings. If it was on we would have probably flew away.
