《What happened in Vegas - English version》Chapter 3

Never in my life have I jumped out of bed so quickly. Hectically, I snatch the note from Alec's hands and stare at the paper in disbelief. Again and again I read the words. Sometimes silently in my head. Then again aloud. But it changes nothing, no matter how long I stare at the paper.
"Marriage certificate", I read aloud and out of the corner of my eye I see him nod.
"Alexander Gideon Lightwood." Another nod.
"I guess that's you then", I say and sigh. It really does say my name. But not the same one I had twenty-four hours ago.
"Magnus Lightwood." Once again I am surprised at myself.
"You took my name", says Alec and I give him an annoyed look.
"Oh really? I didn't even notice", I reply sarcastically.
"The last word hasn't been said about this yet." Annoyed, I storm into the bathroom, the door slams noisily into the lock and I prop my hands up on the edge of the sink. A glance in the mirror shows me that our wedding night must have been more than stormy. My hair is completely destroyed, sticking out wildly in all directions. My neck is covered with dark spots and there is a slight bite mark on my collarbone.
All my pondering is getting me nowhere. My memories are too fuzzy to make a whole. Maybe it would help if we all sat down and dug into our memories together. The uncertainty is making me feel sick and increasing my headaches. Hopefully this Jake will remember to take the painkillers.
The shower is wonderfully refreshing and the warm water a relief to my tired bones. The remaining alcohol disappears from my body, as does the smell of cigarettes and rum. Another fact I wonder about. Rum. I never drink rum. My favourite drink is vodka. Ice-cold and preferably with my friends.

Loud laughter comes muffled through the door of the bathroom. I hear Alec's voice, a deep bass. Another, brighter and slightly panicked. Murmurs and the laughter again. Alec suddenly standing in the bathroom, looking at me out of widened eyes. Panicked, I snatch the bathrobe from the hook and put it on. Not that Alec has already seen everything of me, but I feel a little uncomfortable at the thought of it.
"What is it?", I ask irritably. Alec is standing in the doorway, apparently trying not to lose his composure. Again he strokes through that jet-black hair. And again, my fingertips promptly begin to tingle. What the hell is wrong with me?
"Alec?" Snapping my fingers in front of his face, he looks at me. His mouth is slightly open and the expression in his eyes gives off a hint of panic.
"My brother says the marriage is valid." Now I'm the one staring at him in panic.
"Where's your brother?", I say, pushing past Alec. In the living area, I stop abruptly and have deja vu.
Standing in front of me is a tall blond guy with the same blue eyes as Alec. There's a big grin on his face and I hear him use the same words as last night.
"Welcome to the family." I roll my eyes and flop down on the sofa. This is all a nightmare and I wonder when I'll finally wake up.
"We brought you something to wear. Two toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo."
Wiggling his eyebrows, Alec drops heavily onto the sofa beside me.
"And condoms, of course", says Jake, giggling like a little girl. Alec throws one of the little pillows at him. Jake laughs and I hear a clearing of his throat. There was someone else. Another guy, a little shorter with brown curly hair and narrow glasses that keep slipping off his nose.

"Guys, can you focus? Izzy will kill me if she finds out about this", he says in a raspy voice.
"Izzy doesn't even know we're here." Another pillow, this time hitting Alec's right arm.
"And who do we have to thank for that? Jace Lightwood. Super. Thanks a lot." Now it comes back to me. Jace is his name. Not Jake. And the brunette's name isn't Sheldon. But S isn't so wrong already.
"What's your name?", I ask him and he flinches slightly. Am I scaring him?
"Simon Lewis."
"Hello Simon. I'm Magnus. And you're Jace? What do you remember?" I'm tired of the guesswork and finally want answers.
"Um... we were in a bar. We had a good drink there. I went to the toilet. And when I came back, Alec was hanging on your lips. Literally." The taste of rum flits across my tongue.
"I don't remember that. But I do remember a blowjob in the gents. I remember that", Alec says neutrally.
Now, at the latest, I am sure that this is a dream. This can't be true.
"You or me?" Before he can say anything, I raise my hand and stop him. "Wait. I don't want to know."
"What else do you know?", asks Alec instead.
"What else do I know? Let's see. Blue eyes. Black hair. Elvis." All three men stare at me in disbelief.
"Why Elvis?", says Alec, running his hands through his hair again. This tingling in my fingertips is driving me crazy.
"Oh I can help with Elvis!", Simon suddenly calls out and jumps up. He puts his phone on the table and starts a video. We stare spellbound at the screen and with every second that passes I grow colder. The video shows Alec and me in front of the altar. We are holding hands. Jace stands next to Alec and hands him a ring. He slips it over my finger and Simon comments on everything he sees. His slurring makes him difficult to understand. But Elvis can be heard all the louder announcing that we are now legally married.
The kiss that follows is deep and long and I suddenly feel hot. Very hot. Because Alec and I put on a great show. My hands are in his hair and now I know why my fingertips always tingle so much. Judging by the sounds, he loves what I do with his hair.
The video ends and the four of us stare at the screen for a while.
"You guys looked really in love", I hear Jace say softly. Alec grumbles and I feel sick. Not only did we look in love, but we also looked pissed off.

Jeremy Finds A Dragon
Jeremy, a teenage boy with a freakish talent for the clarinet, is less than thrilled when his mom announces that they’re up and moving to a tiny village on a tiny Scottish island the summer before his senior year of high school. But Dunsegall turns out to be an okay sort of place, if you like cliffs, sheep, and small-batch ice cream made by a family obsessed with Ray Charles. Two teenage locals — Colin and Aggie — quickly pull Jeremy under their wing and decide to give him a summer he’ll never forget. Everything is mostly fine until one day, in the depths of the woods, they stumble across a two hundred year-old monk and a living, breathing — or, rather, snoring — dragon who need their help. Together, Jer, Col, and Aggie delve into the hidden history of the island, getting up to their elbows in heresy, Highland Games, and, somehow, romance.

They Are Our Smols
You’ve read They Are Smol. You’ve enjoyed They Are Smol (if you haven’t, well, prepare to not enjoy this one either). But this is smols like you’ve not seen them before. This is extreme smolness with a lemon twist: smols fucked up big time in this one, and Earth, well… Earth is empty of smols. At least the ayys hope so, because it’s fallout time back there. The ones that got away — and let’s face it, it was all of them that were left — had no place to go. Homeless, smol and needing protectings, they were taken in. For the lucky ayys out there, they’re our smols. This is a not-so-serious slice of life alternate universe where the entire population of Earth, what was left after the dead man’s switch was flipped and the nukes successfully irradiated the planet, were evacuated en masse and then taken in by the galactic civilization at large. I’ll probably write a few more in this silly, comfy alternate timeline to expand on what’s different, but don’t take it too seriously, okay? I do not take credit for the original setting, this story is set in an alternate version of the 'They are Smol' universe, written by the one, the only u/tinyprancinghorse.TPH takes many forms and is known by many names. He is like Nyarlathotep, only smaller and cuter and more prancey. TPH also has a Website and a Patreon.
