《Brother of Wind {book 3: Rebooted}》chapter 13

It was a cosmic black empty space. Well, because it was space. The ninja had jumped into a spare compartment of the rocket that the nindroids commanded.
The ninja drifted around aimlessly with no gravity to pull then down. Jay was acting like he was in a bed, letting go and relaxing.
"Is this the greatest thing ever, or what!?" Jay exclaimed.
"Where are you?!" Kai yelled.
"We're trapped in space and you-- where did you go?!" Kai was a little angered that Jay was taking this a little to lightly.
"Guys, we're in space!" Jay said.
"I thought this was only stuff Fritz Donnegan gets to enjoy!" He exclaimed acting like he was walking.
"Fritz is from a comic book, dude--" Lloyd said as the clashed against the wall.
"This is real!"
"Well, you got me hooked on the character! Would you lighten up and not step on my dreams of being a real starferrer just yet?" Jay punched the air.
"Jay! We have a mission-- woah!" Morro reminded just dodging Lloyd floating past.
"Sorry!" Lloyd called.
"You can't let this distract you!" Morro finished.
"We have to find a way to take control of the ship! Ehh." Lloyd said trying not to flip over.
"If they get the golden weapons back to the Overlord, Ninjago doesn't stand much of a chance! WOAHH!" Lloyd yelled as he bumped into Kai and flew across the ship.
"But there's no access to the rest of the ship." Kai said drumming his head.
"The only way out is through the same air lock we came in." Kai reminded.
"And, if my memory banks serve correct, space has a way of taking one's breath away." Zane said looking out a small window.
"In the negative sense." He finished.
In the command, piloting area of the ship, nindroids were working away except for Cryptor who was just sitting on a chair instruction everyone.
"Delta-V guidance. Data point: 0-30. Initiate auto sequencing." Cryptor said.
Min-droid saluted and flew to a control screen. His feet locked on the ground with a magnetic pull. 5 minutes was a timer set.
"Enjoy it while you can, Jay." Zane moved his way to a little screen map.
"Because in 5 minutes, the entire ship is scheduled to lighten up!" Zane informed as Lloyd smacked into another wall.
"The supemental boosters are set to detach!" Zane finished.
"Uh, I'm a ninja, not an astronaut." Kai said.
"Yeah, I wish I u derstood what you said, but I don't. At all." Cole added.
"The portion of the ship we are currently stationed will soon detach and we will be abandoned in space with it." Zane said.
The ninja exchanged worrying glances. Except for Lloyd who was still struggling to move around.
"Hello? Kai? Anyone? Can you read me?" A girl's voice started to come through the screen.
"We read you loud and clear!" Kai responded, recognizing his sister's voice.
The team back in Ninjago cheered with relief. They had found away to hack into the ship's system and communicate with the ninja.
"Good to hear you, boys. We're going to help you get home safe." Wu said.
"Pixal was able to find the blueprints for the rocket." The sensei informed as Pixal nodded.

"You need to escape the cargo hold before it's too late. Near the front of the ship, is an A-2 storage compartment." Wu informed.
"Inside are emergency space suits."
"That's weird. Having space suits for people in a ship piloted entirely by nindroids." Morro called out.
"Whatever, we know they're there, but, that would be a doozy!" Cole exclaimed.
"We can't get the space suits unless we go outside!" Cole said, accidentally hitting Lloyd.
"Problem is, we can't go outside without the space suits. Any other suggestions?" Cole asked.
"They are completely out of their element. Even if they get through this, what chance do we have at getting them home?" Garmadon said to Wu.
"Uh... We can still hear you." Kai said.
"Yeah, we could really use some encouraging words right about now." Lloyd suggested.
The team back in Ninjago paused for a moment.
"If you cannot change your circumstances, change yourself." Wu said.
"...translation?" The ninja asked Morro.
"Uhh... Do something instead of just waiting." Morro said after he thought it over.
"That's great, but we can't for anything right now." Jay said.
"Zane, you are the only one who can survive outside the ship." Pixal said.
"She's right." Zane said.
"I'm the only one who doesn't need oxygen. I must go alone." Zane headed to the exit. He closed the door behind him for the air seal.
"Go get 'em Zane!" Kai said. Zane went to the outside door. As soon as he opened it, Zane almost got sucked out into the vacume of space. Luckily, he grabbed a cord to stay near.
Zane pulled himself towards the ship then held onto a handle near the door. If he got lost out here, he would be gone.
"Approaching comet. Prepare to disengage supplemental boosters." Cryptor instructed as Zane climbed up to the window. Cryptor turned his head back and Zane panicked.
"Aahh!! No! No, no, no!!" Zane slipped and flew back and away from the ship. He passed the wing and fell behind.
Zane was left spiraling in circled as he drifted further away.
"Come one, Zane." He tiled himself.
"You can do this..." Zane said through scattered breathing.
"You can get back!" He said determined.
"Ice!" Zane shouted and a cold frost emitted from his hands. He pushed his way towards the ship and attacked to the wing right next to the compartment he needed to be.
Zane was fast and entered every possible code to the compartment until he got in. There were conviniantly 5 space suits for the others.
20 seconds.
"Come on, Zane. Where are you?" Lloyd asked as he nervously watched the countdown with the others.
"Booster separation on my command. Five, four, three, two, disengage." Cryptor said. The parts were disconnected and were left to drift off aimlessly in space. The team back in Ninjago anxiously waited for a response.
...
"We made it!" Lloyd's voice chimed through the radio. Everyone cheered. The ninja were able to put on the space suits and stay close to the ship.
"We have our spacesuits and found one way to change ourselves. At least now we can stay on this ride a bit longer." Lloyd said nodding to the others.

"All right, to commandeer the ship, you have to get to the cockpit. You'll find an access hatch just ahead of you." Nya instructed.
It was pretty far away, but everyone- mostly everyone had faith they could make it.
"You know what's also ahead?" Cole asked.
"A desolate void of nothingness! If any one of us falls off..." Cole looked at his team.
"We'll take it slow. Together." Kai said.
"Woaaah!" The ninja held into the wind for dear life as the ship briefly accelerated.
"Well, they certainly aren't." Morro said.
"I can't wait to see the expressions on the faces of those metal chrome domes when they find out we stowed away onboard." Jay exclaimed.
"They're Nindroids, nimrod, they don't have expressions." Cole said.
"Oh, yeah? Well, Zane has expressions."
Jay's voice said in the cockpit through the space suit. The nindroids heard and they were not happy.
"Zane's not like them. Do we really have to go over this right now?" Kai asked annoyed.
"It's just so quiet, I'm only trying to fill the space. Get it?" Jay laughed.
"Space."
"Get rid of them!" Cryptor commanded. A few nindroids ran out to deal with the ninja. Cryptor pulled up a hologram screen.
"The Ninja have stowed away." He said.
On the other side was Pythor back in Ninjago.
"Stay the course for the Golden Weapons. They must be getting help. We'll track down who's aiding them." Pythor said.
The ninja made a move and found their oppents.
"So much for our surprise attack. Look out!" Cole alerted.
"It seems like every time we try to do stealth, Jay ends up talking and giving us away." Morro said.
"Hey!!" Jay yelled, insulted.
The nindroids started to shoot at the ninja. Jay grabbed onto a small antenna as a nindoid made his way yo face him. Jay flicked the antenna in the nindroid's face and stole his blaster. He flipped over and landed on his feet on the ship. Jay jumped to the side, blasting at the other nindroids and his team cheered.
"Not Jay, Fritz Donnegan! Fear isn't a word wear I come from!" Jay quoted as he did tricks with the blaster, such as, shooting front behind.
"Ah man," Lloyd started.
"I'm sorry for introducing him to that."
"Don't be! If we can't change our circumstances, that's one way to change yourself!" Kai pointed at the Jay who was having way too much fun in this life treating situation.
The other ninja made their way to Jay's level.
"Fire!" Kai shouted and lit his hand up. He threw the flam at a nindroid and knocked him off the ship. Lloyd dodged a blast (Anakin from clone wars season 7 style) and charged up his power. Cole ripped off a piece of metal and threw it at another one if his opponents.
"Hopefully we didn't need that." Cole added.
"Ice!" Zane shouted and froze two nindroids, making then detach from the ship.
"Ninja--" Cole tried to do spinjitzu but started to float away from the ship.
"Guys?! A little help please?!" Cole yelled.
"We can't use our spinjitzu in zero-gravity!" Zane said.
"We'll slip right off if we try!" Morro added.
"There's too little resistance!" Zane finished.
"Too little?! I'd say the resistance is a bit more than we can handle!" Lloyd said making a shield for himself.
"Jay! Don't let Cole get away!" Kai shouted at their teammate who was drifting off.
"Uh.. Uh.... FRITZ! SAVE HIM!" Kai yelled. Jay was room busy making puns.
The ship accelerated.
"Help!" Cole called. He was panicking as he flipped around nothing.
"Jay!" Morro called. The wind ninja opened a panel and inside was a little rope. Jay's face lit up as he knew he could use it.
The blue ninja grabbed the rope from the panel and attached it to his suit.
"Fritz Donnegan to the rescue!" Jay exclaimed as he jumped towards Cole. The line was just long enough for Jay to catch him.
"Gotcha!"
"Next time, don't get carried away." Jay made another pun. Kai and Zanw started to pull them back while Morro and Lloyd kept the nindroids busy.
"Thanks. I owe you one." Cole said.
"Okay, stay away from Nya." Jay immediately said.
"Maybe a different one."
A blue comet shone bright in front of the ship, it was this comet where the weapons had shot onto.
"The Golden Weapons. Prepare for entry. But take us through the comet's tail." Cryptor said.
"General, the comet's letting off a high volume of debris." One nindroid said.
"Do it!" Cryptor yelled.
The ship accelerated and headed for the bright light that trailed the flying comet.
"You are almost to the cockpit. Just make sure to continue your course. And focus on the task ahead." Wu said through the radio that started to get choppy.
"Sensei? I'm getting interference! I can't hear you!" Kai exclaimed. Zane bended back.
"Asteroids." He said as a flying blue crystal-like space rock flew past his face. Another one flew by and broke Lloyd's power shield.
"Cryptor's steering us into the tail of the comet. Find cover!" Kai yelled.
An asteroid flew by and destroyed part of where the ninja were secured.
"Cover? What cover?!" Cole pointed.
Another asteroid was coming, but Morro was able to deflected it around the ninja.
"Just duck, or something, I don't know!" Morro shouted.
A few nindroids went back into the ship as the rest were left outside. They looked scared.
"Hey! Haha! They do have expressions!" Jay pointed. Just then, asteroids knocked off all the nindroids.
"....never mind." Jay added.
The team back in Ninjago started to worry.
"They can't hear us because of the asteroid shower." Wu pointed out after faintly hearing Kai's yell.
"Then, they must be preparing to land." Pixal implied.
"We have to warn them about what else is on the comet!" Garmadon said.
"Yeah, uh..." Nya checked the security cameras.
"We're not alone either." Nya said as and explosion erupted in the front door of Borg tower.
The ninja were in space about to be thrown off their ride, and the rest of the team rested in a placed bound to be attacked.
