《Brother of Wind {book five: Possession}》chapter 5

Morro flew through the sky with his glider. On his path to find what he wants, there are setbacks. Ronin stole the scroll of airjitzu so he needs to find that thief. The other ninja most likely already know Ronin has the scroll so Morro needed to get there first.

"So, where are we going?"

Morro looked to his left. Neran was floating upsidedown beside him.

"D-WAHH!!" Morro shouted, loosing his grip and falling down. He was nearing the ground when Morro pushed his hands forwards to use a gust of wind to break his fall.

Morro wiped his face and looked up.

"AAAH! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Morro shouted, jumping back. Neran was just infront of Morro's face.

"What?" Neran asked.

"Please warn me. I can't see through you anymore." Morro said.

Neran looked down.

"I-I'm pretty sure you can." Neran said.

"No, like read your thoughts. You're now like--" Morro paused at the sight of Neran's small smile.

"What was I saying?" Morro asked.

"Seeing through me?" Neran said.

"Right. It's hard to read your thoughts." Morro sighed.

"Ha. I think I developed that ability myself. I can read you like a scroll." Neran smirked.

"Really?" Morro asked.

"Read me, then."

"You're worried." Neran gently pushed Morro.

"I know this is strange and all, and these things don't seem connected but, if you want this, you should go for it." Neran said. Morro sighed and jumped up to summon his dragon.

"Morro, I know you don't do things for yourself. Well, now days you don't. You've been wanting this for how long? Just do it for you." Neran said.

"So, I guess you've been looking for this just for me, huh?" Morro asked.

"Uh... Yeah." Neran said.

"So, where are we going?" Neran asked, gripping onto Morro's little sling bag.

"Stiix." Morro replied. He pulled the dragon reins up as he flew around rock spires.

"That's where Ronin probably is." Morro said.

"The guy who stole the scroll. Right." Neran said.

The ghost looked down. He started to slip off the dragon.

"Neran?!" Morro shouted, racing after the falling ghost. Her reached his band down and grabbed Neran's hand.

"You can grab me?" Neran asked.

"I can grab you." Morro said as Neran hung below.

"What are you doing?" Morro asked as he pulled Neran up.

"Spaced out, I guess." Neran replied.

Neran placed his hand over his mouth, then hovered it over his chest. He took a short breath.

"So, keep going?" Neran asked.

"Yeah." Morro looked back. Neran wasn't there.

"I asked you to warn me."

"Sorry."

. . .

The ninja had arrived in Stiix and started looking for Ronin. They stumbled upon a pawn shop with all sorts of different items. Strange.

"What?" Cole asked.

"What is it?" Kai asked.

"My dad's fang cup." Cole held the trophy up.

"Huh. A place for stolen goods. Guess we found the right place." Kai said.

Whistling emited from a hall behind the shop's counter. A man with orange brown hair up to his shoulders walked out. He had a red kasa hat and some sort of goggle over one of his eyes. Jay and Zane jumped behind him as he carried a vase. The man jumped.

"Oh, hey, Ronin." Jay said in an anoyed voice.

"The ninja. Woah. Uh, if this is about our first encounter, I was just doing business." Ronin said.

"You left us in the mouth of a--" Kai started.

"So you're still upset." Ronin said.

"You know what, let me make it up to you." He walked behind the counter. The ninja, on the other side.

Ronin crept his hand under the counter and pushed a button.

"Aha!" He exclaimed. A net came down but only hooked to the ceiling. The ninja's mouths lay wide open as they watched the net bounce.

"Oh." Ronin said.

"Argh, nothing in the place is legit! Including you!" Cole exclaimed.

"Yeah, and I bet you still have your airship around here. Uh, what did you call it?" Jay asked.

"Rylo? Ruby?"

"Rex!" Ronin corrected.

"And could you give me a break? I sold her to buy this place. As you can see, I'm trying to make an honest living." Ronin scanned hos shelves.

"Honest enough to steal the scroll of airjitzu?" Kai asked.

"The scroll of who-what-zu?" Ronin asked.

"Airjitzu. It can make a Spinjitzu Master fly." Jay said.

Yeah. So hand it over or we can make you fly." Cole threw a countinh board at the ceiling.

"Okay, cool it." Ronin said.

"Even if I did have it, it sounds pretty old and expensive. Probably out of your range. So, may I intrest you in some unique weapons?" He moved over to a box.

"Jadeblades, obsidian armor..."

"Have anything that can vanquish ghosts?" Zane inquired.

"Ghosts, you say?" Ronin sounded intrigued.

"Yeah. They hate water. And don't give us water ballons!" Cole exclaimed.

"What you're looking for is a aero blade." Ronin held up a shuriken. It was black with a coloured accent in the center.

"Forged with deepstone. An aquatic material mined from the bottom of the ocean. Very unique and even more expensive." Ronin explained.

"Ugh, can't you see he's giving us the runaround? We want the scroll, Ronin. What do you want for it?" Kai asked.

Two hundred."

What? Two hundred? We don't have that kind of dough!" Jay exclaimed.

"Come on, you guys once had the Golden Weapons. You honestly telling me you've never pinched anything?" Ronin asked.

"No! We don't pinch. And we don't even have pockets." Kai shouted.

"What if we were to tell you all of Ninjago depends on it?" Cole asked.

"Well then, that changes everything." Ronin said.

"Four hundred."

Argh, you can't just double the price!" Jay shouted.

My shop, my rules."

After a not so thorough discussion between the ninja, Kai decided to try and negotiate.

"Two hundred." Kai said.

"Four hundred." Ronin replied.

"Three hundred."

"Four hundred."

"Three fifty."

"Four fifty."

"DEAL!" Kai shouted. The ninja face palmed. How the heck are they gonna get four hundred and fifty to buy off that scroll?

. . .

"Your training to become the Master of Water begins now." Wu said. Nya was training behind the tea shop a waterfall and pond.

"To become water, you must find its qualities within yourself. While earth is strong and air is fluid, water can be both, strong and fluid." Wu explained.

"Over time, it's strong enough to carve this rock." He tapped the rock he he sat on.

"Or if I use my cup to stop its flow, it can adapt. It's flexible, shapeless. You put water in a cup, it becomes the cup. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot." Wu did the actions as he filled his cup with water from the waterfall.

"Be water, Nya. On your hands!" Wu exclaimed. Nya jumped up and onto her hands, balancing upsidedown on a small rock in the pond.

"Very good. Your mother would be proud." Wu nodded.

"I hate to break it to you, but sometimes Elemental Powers can skip a generation. Maybe you're wrong about me." Nya grunted.

"If the ninja so desperately need my help, isn't it best if I'm Samurai X?" She asked.

"Samurai X cannot do Spinjitzu." Wu used his spinjitzu to glide over the water and get on the land.

"And Samurai X cannot unlock her own Elemental Dragon." Wu did a form, gold trailing his hands. In a flash, the trail of gold became a white dragon. Nya gasped in amazement.

"You never told us you could do that." She said.

"A Sensei never tells. Besides, water is the only weapon against a ghost, for though they can pass through solid objects, they cannot pass through what never stands still." Wu explained.

"What's flexible to us is rigid to them. And since the ninja no longer have their Elemental Powers, it's all but imperative that you go with the flow." Wu said.

"One hand!" He threw his teacup at Nya and she caught it, balancing on one hand now.

"To find your Full Potential, we must find what makes you weak, for in your weakness--" Wu started.

"Lies strength?" Nya finished.

"Yeah, I got it. And I don't mean to boast, but I'm pretty good at almost everything I pick up. Can you even count the times I've had to rescue the boys?" Nya asked.

"And can you count the times Morro assisted to before hand?" Wu asked. Nya thought.

"Five-- six? I dunno." She sighed.

"Maybe I shouldn't have said that." Nya said.

"I have trained Morro. He is strong and you know that." Wu said.

"If our route is taking this possibility, you must be able to match Morro."

Nya had her suspicions. But if that's true, if this is how this is going to play, she could at least attempt at this ninja stuff.

"Your merits don't go unnoticed, but by the end of the day, we will find your flaw." Wu said.

"Before then, the bucket test!" He threw a wooden bucket at Nya. She quickly reacted by pushing herself up, placing the teacup on a lily pad and flipping back on her feet. Catching the bucket, Nya was confused.

"The bucket test?" Nya asked.

"Simple: fill it with water. When it is completely full, your training today is done." Wu said. Nya scooped up some water, however it quickly drained. There was a large hole in the bucket.

"I said it was simple, not easy. Go with the flow." Wu walked off.

. . .

S

o, the ninja's attempt at getting money had brought them to a broken dock, Zane's voice talking backwards and no money. The ninja were doing juuust great. They figured out that Kai can't swim, too. Strange.

"Ah, his voice mod's on the fritz. I can fix it, but it's gonna take time." Jay sighed.

"Ti si ,dab taht ton s'ti?" Zane asked.

"Sorry, Zane, you tried to lead, but I guess it just didn't work out." Cole said.

"Argh. No scroll, no money, and Morro's probably here trying to find a way to get it too!" Kai exclaimed.

"What are you, a bunch of quitters?" Jay asked.

Sure, we can't understand Zane, but did we ever?"

Zane made a face that literally said: excuse me?!

"And Kai's the last person I'd want to follow." Jay crossed his arms.

"Hey!" Kai shouted.

"But now I'm in charge. We may not have the money to buy the Scroll, but I say we don't need it." Jay said.

"And why's that?" Cole asked.

"'Cause we're gonna steal it!"

"Jay, we're ninja, not thieves!" Cole said.

"Yeah, but we're stealing from a thief. Haven't you ever heard, two wrongs make a right?" Jay said.

"Uh, Jay, I don't think that's how it goes." Kai said.

"Thgir a ekam t'nod sgnorw owt s'ti." Zane said.

"Shut it, mush mouth!" Jay shouted.

"I'm the leader and what I say goes. After Ronin locks up tonight, we steal the Scroll of Airjitzu." Jay walked off. The others followed.

. . .

Morro arrived just outside of Stiix and landed on a small cliff.

"So, he's down there?" Neran asked.

"Yup. I'll look around first." Morro glided down to Stiix. It was a poor city, built on water and platforms of wood. The buildings were a little sad but Morro heard Stiix was the best place to be during a celebration or festival.

"Yeah. I mean, they were doing good at the beginning, but it all fell apart after that. Literally."

Morro turned to see a construction worker saying something about broken docs.

"Strange group of people, too. They had a robot ad a leader."

Morro sighed. Wow. When this is over, don't task the ninja with construction chores, Morro thought. He looked around more and saw a pawn shop. After that, that was Morro's proof. He glided back to the cliff.

"Okay, so they were deffiently here." Morro said placing his glider down.

"And Ronin too."

"Okay, now what?" Neran asked, sitting in front of Morro.

"Uh. Wait 'till night, I guess." Morro replied.

"What if the ninja try to take it at night?" Neran asked.

"They probably won't. We don't usually steal." Morro said.

"So, how're you gonna get it?" Neran asked.

"I haven't thought of that yet. It'll happen when it happens." Morro said.

Neran sighed and pulled out the allied armor from Morro's sling.

"No." Morro said.

"Listen, listen. There's this guy who knows Ronin and I think he can make a deal with him so we don't have to forcibly take it." Neran said. Morro thought. He lifted his hand to give the go.

Neran held up the chest plate and a ghost with a hood and a bow came out of the glow. Morro stood up. Neran grabbed his gi.

"Ronin has the scroll of airjitzu and he's down there." Neran pointed to stiix.

"Ronin... He owes me a large debt." The ghost, Soul Archer said.

Neran tapped Morro and made an 'I told you' face.

Morro kneeled down to one knee.

"What's wrong?" Neran asked.

"Just tired." Morro answered. Soul Archer looked at Neran. The kid shrugged.

"Let my bow give you strength." Soul Archer fired an arrow and it hit the entrance sign to Stiix. Nightfall was new in this part of Ninjago.

"We'll go tonight. I need to rest a bit, okay?" Morro said. Neran nodded.

. . .

"There." Nya said walking up to Wu.

"Bucket's full! Not so hard!" She exclaimed. Wu looked in the pale. The water was slowly draining out. Nya placed a rock at the bottom.

"The bucket is not full. Try again." Wu said.

"Awwww.... This is impossible!" Nya shouted.

"This is not impossible. This is thinking outside the bucket. Going with the flow. Finding where you are weak." Wu said.

"I'm not weak! This bucket is weak!" Nya kicked the bucket into the pond.

"I'm trying to fill the bucket all day, it's never gonna happen! Face it, I'm not a Water Ninja, I'm a Samurai! This is pointless! I filled the bucket!" Nya shouted as she stormed off.

"It appears the day was a waste." Misako stepped beside Wu.

"On the contrary, I've finally discovered her weakness: feeling weak." Wu said.

"I'm good at everything else, why do I have to be good at filling buckets!? Go with the flow? I'll show you how I go!" Nya shouted in the distance.

"She's good at so many things, but when put in a position to fail, she gives up. And because of her temper, she didn't even realize she's successfully completed the task." Wu said. Below the surface water, every inch of that bucket had water in it. A fish swam right through it.

"Her bucket is full."

I was mad. Very much so. I ran to the clearing and started to beat up the trees.

"Hey."

I turn around but stop.

"Oh, hey." I turn back to the tree.

"Im just... Really mad!!" I yelled as I climbed up the tree.

"Why?" He climbed up to sit with me on a branch.

"Apparently, 'destiny' that it's not my path and I'm not the one." I said mockingly.

"The one who-- wait, seriously?" He asked.

"What the heck?"

"I know. It's stupid. So, if I dissapear for a bit. It's for me."
