The next morning, Sebastian had gotten a call requesting him and Rylee attend a meeting at Marvel Entertainment's downtown office.
Sebastian drove them across the city, hand in Rylee's lap the whole ride. Rylee had her hand on top of his and her other hand was scrolling through her phone when she ran across an article where she saw a glimpse of her name.
Written by Jocelyn Smith
A lot of chaos ensued early Saturday morning at the apartment building that Rylee Summers, Sebastian Stan's girlfriend, reportedly resides at.
Around 5:30 am, police and ambulance arrived at Summers' building. An unidentified man was being taken out of the building shortly after in handcuffs, and seemed very angry. At one point, our source reported that Sebastian pulled up to the scene, looking frantic and asking an officer for Rylee's whereabouts. Our source also says once they found each other they hugged tightly and right after that they were surprised to see Sebastian hoist Rylee into his arms to walk her over to an ambulance.
Hmm. We wonder what happened? We hope she wasn't hurt and the ambulance was just a precaution!
We will be keeping up with any and all information about this situation and keep you updated!

Rylee closed her app and tossed her phone in her purse, sighing.
"What is it?" Sebastian asked, surprised at her sudden disgust with her phone.
"What else. E!News. They of course wrote something up about yesterday." Rylee rolled her eyes.
"Is it bad?" Sebastian asked gently.
"Honestly no, because they didn't have any detailed information...but it's still annoying. Like...obviously something bad happened. At least give us five seconds to deal with it before you start writing articles about stuff, yah know?"
"Sure do, doll. At least it doesn't sound like it was too terrible.."
"Yeah, I guess I should count my blessings."
Soon, Sebastian parked as close as he could to the buildings front door, but they were still half way down the block. Sebastian got out of the car and walked around to help Rylee get her crutches and herself situated.
Rylee, dressed in a long sleeved navy blue blouse and grey slacks, slowly echoed down the New York street on her crutches with Sebastian by her side, sporting his aviator sunglasses, a white button down and navy blue chinos. They made their way down the block until they reached the doors of the Marvel offices. Sebastian opened the door and ushered Rylee in ahead of him, as he smiled and waved at a few fans who were waiting down the block.
Sebastian walked in behind Rylee and joined her at the large, oak desk in the lobby to talk with the receptionist.
"Good morning, Sebastian. Rylee," the receptionist smiled warmly. She placed a sign-in binder on top of the counter for them to both sign and then directed them to the meeting room they needed to find on the 14th floor.
"Thank you Erica," Sebastian said to her with a small wave as they made their way over to the elevators.
Rylee leaned over and whispered to Sebastian as he pushed the green up arrow for the elevator, "Have I met Erica before?" She wondered if she was at the bar the night when she was bombarded with all the marvel cast and crew.

"No, I mean, she knows me. I'm guessing she either knew you by association or they had your name already written down somewhere. No worries," Sebastian smirked.
The elevator chimed above them and the doors slid open. Rylee made her way in first, and leaned against the wall inside as Sebastian followed her, pushing the button for the 14th floor.
"You doin' okay?" Sebastian asked, seeing how exhausted Rylee looked.
"Yeah, these just take a bit of oomph...not used to it. I haven't used crutches since I was like 16, but I'm good." Rylee smiled.
Soon, the elevator chimed again and the doors opened. Rylee suddenly felt nervous. Sebastian saw it cross her face and he put his hand on her back, rubbing it gently, "Nothin' to stress about, love."
Rylee looked up into Sebastian's blue eyes and nodded as she made her way out of the elevator. They were met with another receptionist on this floor, who, they were surprised asked for a coffee order from them. Rylee asked for a cold brew coffee and Sebastian parroted her choice.
She then led them to a corner board room with floor to ceiling windows, a large grey 12 person table, each spot positioned with a black rolling office chair. Each space was neatly labeled with a person's name, an empty notebook, and a pen.
Sebastian pulled out a chair near the middle for Rylee, taking her crutches and leaning them on the wall behind them. He sat down next to her and immediately placed his hand on hers, trying to help her gain some calm.
They spoke in whispers to one another while they sat in the empty meeting room for a few lone minutes, watching the sun slowly rise through the giant array of windows.
The first person to walk into the room was Kevin Feige. He walked straight over to hug both Sebastian and Rylee. "I'm glad you guys made it. I'm so sorry for everything that's happened, Rylee."
"Thanks, Kevin. We're overwhelmed with gratitude for the invite to be here today," Rylee replied. She hated how she sounded when she said it. But she couldn't express how she was truly feeling in words. She's been so overcome with gratitude and confusion over this whole offer.
"Of course, we want to help any way we can." At that moment the door opened and another man stepped through the door. Kevin excused himself over to his seat as the man came up and introduced himself to Rylee and Sebastian as John Lee, a paralegal.
Soon, various people slowly started to trickle into the room. Sebastian knew a handful of them, but the majority he was meeting for the first time. He stood to shake hands with each person that came in, turning so he faced Rylee, as she stayed seated, so they could meet everyone at the same time.
Sebastian tried to keep up with the whirlwind of names but it was difficult. He was glad that everyone had name placards at their seats.
After everyone trickled in, two assistants, along with the receptionist, entered the room and passed everyone the coffees they ordered when they arrived, everyone thanking them in turn.

As the door shut behind them when they left their was a moment of silence, and then Kevin stood up.
"Good morning everyone and thank you for being here, especially on a Sunday. I know this isn't the usual scenario for us all coming together. Usually someone's suing us for something ludicrous like a shade of paint or someone saying we stole their great great great grandmothers likeness for a character." Everyone in the room let out a short chortle at Kevin's comments.
"But today we're here for something far more important. Rylee Summers, for not only the last week, but for the last half of the decade has had to deal with an atrocious man who just the other night, tried to end her life."
Rylee got chills when Kevin spoke. It was strange to hear this man, speak so passionately to this room full of strangers about her trials and tribulations.
"Not only do we here at Marvel love Rylee, but Sebastian just never shuts up about her." The room laughed again.
"Sebastian and I spoke briefly yesterday about everything that's been going on, and we, the company as a whole, would like to help ease the burden of this from both of your shoulders as much as we can.
"With that being said, I would like to extend our services to you Rylee. We gave Sebastian a list of our available lawyers, but Jane, who you met last week," he gestured towards Jane sitting down the table, "has offered her services and wishes to continue working with you if you'll have her. We also want to make sure any and all legal fees are covered."
Rylee had already heard most of this information yesterday, but it didn't keep her from tearing up all over again. "Thank you all so much. I can't fully express how much this means to me."
Sebastian put his hand in hers, squeezing it gently on the shiny black table top. "Sebastian and I talked for a few long hours about this last night, and I felt it was far too much, I honestly still do. But Seb explained how this company runs and how it takes care of its people, and I just...can't thank you all enough."
They all nodded sporadically, smiling as they listened to her speak. Kevin began to sit down, gesturing towards another man down the table, who's name was Josh Green, his nameplate labeled him as a "Production Attorney".
Josh began discussing all of the legalities as most of those in the room scribbled in their notepads. Rylee and Sebastian occasionally wrote things down, but were told they would be given meeting minutes when everything wrapped up.
After another hour or so of discussions and explanations, Josh asked if anyone had any questions or comments before everyone was dismissed, the room rang with silence.
"Alright then. Ms. Summers, consider yourself backed." Josh finished.
Rylee nodded, thanking the room again profusely. Chatter rose throughout the room as the meeting ended, and slowly everyone departed, wishing Rylee and Sebastian well with hugs and handshakes as they left through the door behind them.
After a few minutes, the only people left in the room were Kevin, Jane, Rylee, and Sebastian. Kevin and Jane were speaking briefly in the other corner of the room as Sebastian rose to get Rylee's crutches for her. He handed them to her and helped her stand up as Kevin and Jane walked over to see them off.
"Thank you again for all of this. I honestly still don't know what to say." Rylee said to them both as she got comfortable on her crutches, Sebastian stepping back to give her room.
"We'll have plenty to say when we put Michael in prison for a very, very long time." Jane replied, smiling gently.
Rylee nodded and hugged both Kevin and Jane, and soon Sebastian did the same.
Kevin and Jane left the room, it was now empty except for the two of them. "You okay? I know that was a lot." Sebastian asked, placing his hand on Rylee's back.
"I'm good. Just knowing all these people that were here were all in this together, working to help me...help us...it's very overwhelming." Rylee smiled thoughtfully.
"Sebastian nodded and then flicked his head towards the door, "Come on, love. Let's head out." He opened the board room door for her and they made their way to the elevators, waiting to hear the chime of it's arrival. Soon enough, it did and the made their way inside, pushing the button for the lobby.
Sebastian looked down at Rylee, and couldn't help the overwhelming feeling of love for her. He hesitated for a moment and then spoke softly, "You know, I've been wanting to ask you...and it's okay if you don't think it's the right time...but I feel like the last few days really solidified it for me..."
Rylee looked up at Sebastian, who was now staring ahead at the closed elevator doors, listening to the floors ding by. She waited patiently for him to continue.
"Move in with me."
Rylee was so shocked to hear the words that she thought she made it up in her head. "W-what?"
Sebastian looked straight into Rylee's hazel eyes now, confirming what he said, "Move in with me?" It was now more of a question. "We spend our free time together anyway, so we'd save the travel time, and you've already got half a closet of clothes at my house," he smirked but continued, "and the security in my building is phenomenal, nothing to ever worry about there, and honestly I just hate sleeping without you anymor-"
Rylee stopped Sebastian's rambling with a kiss, syncing their lips together. She leaned away for a moment, looking straight into his blue eyes, "Yes."
"Really?"
"Absolutely Sebastian, I would love to." Rylee smiled from ear to ear, leaning back in to kiss him more. As they parted, the elevator doors did as well and they quickly put themselves back together to walk through the lobby, side by side. Both unable to wipe the smiles from their faces.

Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
