《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》23 - Chinese and Iron Man

Sunday afternoon rolled in slowly. Both Sebastian and Rylee worked until around 4:00 am. While Rylee was pretty used to this kind of schedule, Sebastian was still trying to get into the swing of things. They both agreed that he would go over to Rylee's house for around noon, even though they were both itching to start their day together sooner.
At 12:00 on the dot, Rylee heard a knock at the door. She immediately stood up, practically skipping over to open it, revealing the giant smile on Sebastian's face behind it. She dove into giving him a giant hug and he returned it easily, sliding his arms around her waist tightly. His sensual, citrus and woody cologne filling the space around her, taking it in. She loved the scent and it already began to relax her, becoming one of her favorite smells.
When they began to part, they swiftly kissed one another and stepped inside. Sebastian toed off his shoes and joined Rylee, sitting with her legs folded up beside her on the couch. He threw his arm over her shoulder and she immediately leaned in, finding a comfortable spot on his muscular chest. He reached over to link their hands, giving hers a quick squeeze.
"So how was shooting last night?" Rylee asked cheerily.
Sebastian sighed at the thought, he might as well tell her about it. He looked down at the spot between them, where their hands lay, rubbing his thumb absentmindedly across the back of her hand. "Not gonna lie, most of it was pretty shitty."
"Why?" Rylee asked curiously. She was surprised, when he texted her last night he seemed fine.
"I just kept fucking up. I had this long inspirational monologue I was supposed to be spilling out and I just couldn't get it right. It took us like four hours to do something that should've took like 15 minutes."
"Ouch, that's rough." Rylee responded. "You seemed okay when I texted you last night.."
"Yeah, well, we got dismissed for a ten minute break when I got your text. It actually helped me a lot. It got me motivated, cause for a while I was definitely not up for doing that scene again ." He smiled over at her, "so, thanks for that." He laughed.
"Well I'm glad I could help." Rylee looked at him proudly. She wished she could've helped ease his mind earlier, but she was happy that just a simple text could help him out in some fashion.
"What about your night, how was Rubys? Is Alexa back?"
"Ohhhh yeah. She's definitely back," Rylee laughed, "Normal Alexa, always bringing the shenanigans. Ruby's was alright though, nothing crazy to alert the presses about."
Sebastian hummed in response, happy that her night at least went pretty well. "Well what shall we do today?"
"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm starving, and I've been thinking about Chinese for like a week straight." She leaned over to find the menu for the restaurant close to her house, locating it in her couch side table. She already knew what she wanted so she passed it over for Sebastian to skim.
"Sounds like a plan to me." Sebastian smiled.

Half an hour later, Rylee received a call from the doorman that their food had arrived. They both went down, collecting their things and having a quick conversation with Theo.
They trekked back to the elevators and quickly to Rylee's apartment and spread out all of their food on her small glass coffee table in front of the couch. They had ordered way too much but they both didn't care. There were containers on containers of white rice, chicken with broccoli, orange chicken, general tsos, lo mein, and crab rangoons for days.

They both didn't waste any time diving right in. Rylee grabbed a little bit of everything while Sebastian shied away from the chicken with broccoli. It wasn't his cup of tea, so he just scooped up a bit of everything else.
They sat together as they ate, legs crossed under the coffee table, backs leaned against the couch, watching the next movie of their binge fest, Iron Man. Rylee jumped out of her skin when Tony Starks convoy was attacked. Sebastian tried not to laugh but ultimately failed. She gave him a quick jab with her elbow into his ribs. And he threw up his hands in surrender, leaning in to give her a kiss, seeming to ask for forgiveness.
After another hour or two, they had long finished eating, letting the food stay splayed on the table as they cuddled together, still in their spots on the floor.
Rylee was leaning her head on Sebastian's shoulder, she wasn't sleeping per say, but she had her eyes closed, seemingly focused, as the credits of the movie rolled.
"Are you okay? You feel kinda warm.." Sebastian asked gently. He could feel her forehead burning up on his shoulder, much warmer than earlier.
"I'm fine...I'm just going to run to the bathroom..." Rylee answered pretty unconvincingly. She stood up from her spot on the floor, and quickly made her way down the hall. She grabbed a thermometer out of her medicine cabinet and took a seat on the edge of her bathtub.
101.3. How? She was just fine a few hours ago. She had been resting her eyes in the living room because she had felt a headache coming on and was trying to stave it away, but to no avail. It was like her body was waiting for her to catch up on the hints because all at once she felt her abdominals cramping, and a wave of nausea hit her. The next thing she knew, she was falling to her knees in front of the toilet, and emptying her stomach.
Rylee didn't realize how much noise she must've made because soon after, she heard a light knock on the door. "Hey, are you alright, babe?"
Rylee was about to answer, but she was attempting to fight off, and was losing, a battle with her insides, forcing her to lean back over the toilet.
When Sebastian heard her start up again, he immediately came into the bathroom, sitting on the side of the bathtub. One of his hands on her back while the other collected her hair together and held it back for her, out of her face. He reassured her that she was okay, and everything would be fine, gently rubbing comforting circles into her back.
After she heaved again, her body gave in, giving her a break for a moment. She leaned over to flush the toilet, "Please, you don't need to see me like thi-" she paused momentarily feeling another retch.
"Sweetheart...you're sick, I just want to help. What can I do?" Sebastian commented quietly placing a few strands of hair behind Rylee's ear that were threatening to fall into her face.
"I'll be fine." Rylee groaned stubbornly, trying not to retch all of her insides out yet again.
"Okay sure." Sebastian stated sarcastically, with a small smirk. He stood up and left the room for a minute. Rylee felt weird when his warmth beside her disappeared. She didn't expect him to actually leave. But before she could register any other thoughts, or be disappointed, she leaned back over the toilet, vomiting yet again, though not much came out.

Sebastian returned quickly to see her leaning against the side of the tub, still beside the toilet, eyes closed, back to focusing on keeping herself together. He walked in and knelt down beside Rylee, placing his hand on her shoulder giving her a quick "I'm right here" as not to startle her. He brought back a damp washcloth that he gently placed on her forehead as well as a bottle of water he kept in his lap.
"You don't need to be doing this.." Rylee whispered, her eyes still closed. She tried to breath deeply without starting up her stomach again.
"I'm taking care of you, don't think about arguing with me. I'm not going anywhere." Sebastian stated dominantly, though easing his tone when he asked, "You okay to walk?"
Rylee nodded once, thinking the worst of her nausea was over at the moment. As she stood up she held the damp cloth to her forehead and Sebastian cracked open the water bottle. "Here, take a couple sips before we go." Rylee nodded, taking the bottle from him and complying. When she was done, he took it back, replacing the cap and placing one hand on her elbow, and the other, with the water bottle, wrapped around her waist, making sure Rylee didn't fall.
He guided her to her bed and helped her lay down, tucking her in, and placing the water bottle on her bedside table. He kissed her forehead gently, getting a feel for her temperature, "You're still burning up. I'll be right back." He took her wash cloth with him as he left the room.
In the small amount of time he had disappeared, he returned to Rylee's small snores filling the room. Sebastian slowly sat down on the side of the bed, placing the newly dampened washcloth gently back on her forehead. Rylee jumped slightly at the feeling but immediately sunk back into her pillows.
"Thank you Seb," she mumbled quietly.
"No need to thank me, I just want you to feel better. Get some rest okay?" Sebastian said as he rubbed his thumb along her jaw.
"Mhmm." was all that came out when Rylee attempted to respond. She was already caving to the overwhelming weight of sleep taking her over.
——————————
Rylee woke up a handful of times over the next few hours to rush hurriedly to the bathroom to throw up, but Sebastian was always there to help and comfort her. It was taking a lot out of her each time she got up, it took almost nothing for her to fall right back asleep from exhaustion.
One of the first times Rylee woke up without feeling a wave of nausea was at 1:00 am. She woke up extremely disoriented, when she saw the moon light beaming in through her windows, shining lightly over the dark bedroom. She sat up, trying to get her bearings.
As she did so, she felt the emptiness of her stomach ache inside, but the thought of food still made her feel a retch coming on. She swallowed down that feeling and stood up. When she looked over at the bedside table she saw her water bottle still there, along with two aspirins and a small plate stacked with crackers. She smiled at the small gesture Sebastian had left behind. She wasn't sure she was up for food yet, but she picked up a cracker and took slow bites out of it.
She padded out of her bedroom and down the hall, finishing her cracker, when she noticed the light was on in the living room, also hearing what she thought were the light sounds of the tv.
She walked slowly out towards the living room to investigate and her heart quickly melted. Sebastian was sleeping soundly on the couch, one arm across his stomach while the other laid gently near his head, one of his legs bent at the knee while the other stayed straight out. She had assumed he had left a while ago.
She quietly shuffled across the room to turn off the tv. She noticed that Sebastian had cleaned up all of their food from earlier. And everything was back where it belonged. Her heart swelled at the thought, picturing him handling everything. She wanted to let him sleep since he probably had just as rough of a night as she did, but she couldn't remember when he said he had to be on set.
Rylee knelt beside the couch, lightly touching Sebastian's arm to wake him. His eyes slowly fluttered open and when he saw Rylee in front of him, he sat up quickly, running a hand through his hair, "Hey, are you okay? How are you feeling?" Sebastian gently placed the back of his hand against Rylee's forehead, "you still have a little bit of a temperature." He did all of this in the first few seconds of being awake, still a bit lost from just waking up.
"I'm feeling better than before, kind of disoriented. I didn't realize I slept this long."
"Well I'm glad you got some rest." Sebastian said as he fully sat up, stretching his arms above his head.
"I'm sorry." Rylee said so quietly Sebastian almost didn't hear it.
He was shocked and confused at her apology, "Ryles there's nothing to be sorry for."
"I had all these grand plans set up in my head for today and then this happened.." Rylee still stayed quiet, disappointed.
"Rylee Ann. You got what I'm assuming is food poisoning. Don't apologize for being sick. It happens." Sebastian tried to comfort her, putting his arm around her to lean her closer to him, kissing the top of her head. "We'll have more free days together."
"Yeah.." Rylee pouted.
"I'm supposed to be in at 4:00 am today...but I'm going to call Kevin...tell him I can't make it in. Make sure you're okay." Sebastian stated quickly, reaching into his pocket for his phone, but Rylee reached out to stop him, placing her hand on his arm.
"Don't you dare, Seb," Rylee warned, "don't start taking off work just because of me. I'll be fine."
"I'll just be worried about you while I'm on set all day."
"I'll keep you updated throughout the day, okay? I promise. I'll be fine."
Sebastian sighed but put his phone the whole way back into his pocket, taking his hand out to place on the back of her neck, rubbing it with his thumb. "Okay...alright, but even if I don't answer...leave me a message...and if I'm filming, I'll make sure someone else has my phone, just in case."
Rylee put her hand on his cheek, turning his face in her direction, his concerned blue eyes locking with her hazel ones. "I will be fine."
"Okay. Alright. I've gotta get going then...but you call me if you need anything. Anything at all." Sebastian stated firmly, one more time as he stood up, heading over to put on his shoes.
"Will do, Sergeant," Rylee added, attempting to get him to smile before walking out the door.
He did just that. Smiling as he opened the door he turned around, "Bye Ryles, L-" he froze for a moment, looking like he was about to say something, "I'll talk to you later."
"Bye Seb, have a good day. Tell everyone I said hello!" Rylee said as he quietly closed the door behind him.
She stood there for a moment before deciding to head back to bed. She padded back to her bedroom and grabbed another cracker off the plate Sebastian left. She sat down on the edge of the bed as she finished it, her stomach growling as she ate.
She laid down and pulled the covers up to her chin. Thinking about all the things Sebastian had done for her today. They'd been dating for like two weeks and he was already going above and beyond for her. His hesitation before he left was rattling around her mind though. She decided to send out a single text before she fell back asleep.
