《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》24 - Two Coffees and a Nap

Sebastian had gone home, showered and got ready for his day. He threw on a pair of grey sweat pants and a black hoodie over his AC/DC t-shirt, throwing jeans and a plain black t-shirt into his bag for later.
He only slept for a few scattered hours at Rylee's and Round Corner Cafe definitely wasn't open at 3:30 am. He walked to the elevator in his apartment building, trying to plan his first coffee run of the day. He hoped with all his might that someone had started a carafe on set already.
He said a quick good morning to Shawn and made his way out the door with his backpack in tow, the moon still out and the street lights still shining. He made a mental note that he should maybe just keep some clothes at Rylee's apartment. Their current set is only 5-10 minutes from her house, but it's almost a half hour from his. He yawned, slipping into his car and making his way down the street.
He made it to set right as the clock hit 4:00 am and walked into the side room where the cast and crew were gathering for the morning meeting. He almost screamed in delight when he saw the carafe there, still steaming. He threw his bag down by the table and immediately grabbed a cup of coffee, slipping a few ice cubes into it from the ice maker next to the water cooler, in hopes that it would cool down faster for him to drink. Luckily, it did, and he all but chugged the entire thing before he even sat down in his seat. He turned right back around to get another cup, throwing in a few more ice cubes, but waiting to sit down this time before he took the first sip.
Chris sat down beside him, also wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt. He crossed his arms on the table, laying his head down on them.
"You good, man?" Sebastian asked as he took another swig of his coffee.
"I'm awesome. Just fuckin' tired." He mumbled into the table. "I spent all of yesterday with Alexa.
"How's she?"
Chris sat up now, running his hands through his hair and staring at the table, gesturing quickly with his hands as he spoke, "Great. Really really great. Found out she used to do gymnastics, which makes sense cause she's super flexible...And the way she- "

"Ohhhh wow okay. Not what I meant. It's too early for that conversation." Sebastian laughed.
Chris turned his head to look at Sebastian for the first time that morning. "What about you? You look like shit."
"Gee thanks, I was at Rylee's til like 1:00. She ended up with food poisoning over some bad Chinese."
"Oh, that sucks man. Is she alright?" He sat up fully upon hearing this information.
"Yeah. She says so anyway. I was going to call Kevin and skip out on today to stay with her but she told me not to and that she would be fine."
"Ah, well I hope she feels better soon."
"Yeah. And I almost fucked up this morning too."
"What do you mean?"
"When I was leaving this morning and saying goodbye I almost let an 'I love you' slip."
"Oh shit."
"Yeah...I mean we've only been dating for like two weeks. I shouldn't already feel like that should I? But like...I do? I don't wanna scare her off by saying that though."
"Nah I get you man. You've just gotta do it when it feels right though, yah know? Who knows. Maybe she already feels the same way too."
"Yeah, maybe." Sebastian rubbed the back of his head with one hand, still holding his warm coffee cup in the other. "This coffee isn't doing shit." He mentioned out of the blue.
"Yeah that's why I didn't grab any. I feel like it's secretly decaf."
Sebastian sighed quietly and chugged the rest of what was in his cup, throwing it away from his seat into the garbage behind him.

After about ten minutes of mingling, the morning meeting began, everyone getting their assignments and time slots for the day, where to be, when. Sebastian was a little annoyed that his first scene wasn't being filmed until 7:30. He had three hours to kill.
As mostly everyone filtered out of the meeting room, Sebastian found an empty loveseat. He grabbed his backpack and tossed it onto one side of the loveseat and fluffed it into a pillow. He laid his head down on it and quickly took out his phone, setting an alarm for 6:50. While he had his phone out he turned his volume up the whole way and then shot a few quick texts to Rylee.

Morning hun
I hope you're feeling a bit better.
Don't forget to eat, even just a little bit.
He laid his phone on his stomach, underneath both his hands and quickly succumbed to sleep.
——————————
Sebastian's 6:50 alarm went off, startling him awake. He was now alone in the small meeting room. He sat up, running his hands through his hair in an attempt to fix the mess that it had probably become. Sebastian checked to see if Rylee had responded to him, but was left with no new messages. He sighed, hoping that just meant she finally got to catch up on more sleep. He stood up, picking up his backpack, pocketing his phone, and made his way to wardrobe and make up.
When he was about to go on set at 7:30, Sebastian found Chris milling about near the catering station, he had picked up a muffin and an apple and turned around, accidentally running straight into Sebastian.
"Oh shit," he laughed, "sorry man, didn't see yah."
"All good man. Hey, could you keep an eye on my phone for me. I normally just leave it in my bag when I'm filming, but I don't wanna miss if Rylee tries calling or texting."
"Can do," Chris said as he took the phone that was now being handed to him.
"If she does, please let me know. I haven't heard from her yet today. I'm trying not to be worried, but it's not working."
Chris nodded sternly as he put it in his pocket and Sebastian walked off, black "vibranium" arm glinting from the stage lights.
An hour or so had passed, when Chris felt Sebastian's phone vibrate in his pocket.
He pulled it out to find a simple message from Rylee, followed by another as he opened it.
Hey I just got up. I'm feeling a bit better. 😌
Thank you for staying yesterday.
Chris was going to text back but decided he would just call her. He hadn't spoken to her in a while anyway. She answered quickly, only letting the phone ring once.
"Hi, babe."
"Uh hi, it's Chris." He chuckled not thinking that he was calling from Sebastian's phone.
"Oh, sorry. Hey Chris. Where's Seb?"
"He's filming at the moment. Currently knife fighting some bad guy," he laughed watching Sebastian from across the large studio room as he ducked and dodged and stabbed his way past four men. "He gave me his phone to keep an ear out if you texted or called...how ya feelin'?"
"A good bit better. I think it's all starting to pass, my stomachs still cramping which is not great..but overall not feeling completely miserable. Sebastian helped a lot yesterday."
"Yeah he's good like that."
"How is he today? I know he couldn't have gotten that much sleep last night.."
"I think he snuck in a quick nap when he got here...Couple coffees...He's alright. He's just worried about you."
"Well, I was just starting to text Lex and she's about to come over for a bit..watch some movies. So you can let him know I won't be alone if that's why he's worried..."
Chris' cheeks turned a light shade of red when she brought up Lex's name, quick flashes of last night taking over his thoughts.
"...Chris?"
Chris hadn't even realized he zoned out until he heard his name from the other end of the phone.
"Yeah, sorry. That's good. Her and I got to hang out yesterday. You'll have to tell her I said hi." He tried sounding relaxed as he spoke but felt like he failed, last night's activities still filling his mind.
"Alrighty, well I'm going to get going. But it was nice to hear from you Chris! Tell Sebastian I said hi and I'm doing okay."
"Alright, it was nice talking with you too. Later Rylee." Chris hung up the phone and put his hand on his face, just now feeling the blush that took over his cheeks. He tried to shake it off as he made his way to the other side of the set to find Sebastian.
