Chapter 27- Most Definitely Wasn't Expecting You Here...
Zara's POV
After Drake walked away, I turned to glare at Hayden. He didn't look at me though, he only stared at him until he was completely gone. Finally sensing my intense stare, he looked down at me with a frown.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he had the nerve to ask.
"Why in God's name would you just send him away like that? He’s apart of Bryon's pack,"
"Thanks guys, can you excuse both of us for a sec?" he said to the pack then wrapped his left arm around my waist, dragging me towards the V.I.P. booth. I sighed as we sat down.
"Zara, I wasn't gonna just sit here and let him touch my mate so...intimately. Besides, if he was a part of my best friend's pack, I think I would know," he said trying to kiss my neck but I pulled away. Hmm, so that means Drake lied to me. I'll probably ask Bryon about that tomorrow.
"He wasn't doing anything Hayden. It was just a friendly hug," I protested.
"It didn't look so friendly to me," he muttered loud enough for me to hear. I folded my arms across my chest.
"What, so now you don't trust me?"
"Zara, come on, you know I would never say that," he said as he pulled me in his arms. I looked away from him and watched the pack smiling and dancing on the dance floor. They're really having a good time, aren't they? Hayden brought my face to look back at him then before I knew what was happening, his lips found mine.
*************************************************
Saturday Morning...
I woke up with a familiar scent wrapped around me. I tried to get out of Hayden's tight grip but he only held me tighter.
"Stop moving and go back to sleep," he mumbled tiredly against my bare shoulder.
"Hayden, are you forgetting that we need to pack for that 'awesome' camping trip," I said to him as I spun around in his arms. He raised his eyebrow at me.
"And why did you put air-quotes on the word awesome? Do you not feel---" he was about to say when a banging came from downstairs. It sounded like a pan being hit by a wooden spoon.
"What the---"
"All members of the Triton pack, get your asses down here!" we all heard Bryon shout. Hayden growled at the noise and removed his arm from around me to cover his ears.
"Let's move it people. We have a lot of packing to do!" James joined in; knocking on every door he passed.
"I'm gonna fucking kill the both of those idiots," Hayden growled. Seconds later, the door was banged on again.
"I heard that Hayden," Bryon said, "and you would hold up on me," he teased causing Hayden to growl at him and try to cover me up.
"Oh, my apologizes your highness," Bryon apologized then winked at me and ducked out the room as he saw Hayden throw a pillow at him.
"That would be our wake up call," Hayden said then grumpily got up. I laughed and got up as well. I went over to the closet and got some clothes then went through the door. When I got downstairs, I saw everyone glaring angrily at James and Bryon.
"What time is it?" I asked.

"Seven-thirty," Jonah spat out angrily, but his eyes never left Bryon and James so I'm guessing...no I know his anger was directed at them. It was my turn to glare at the two idiots.
"Why the fuck are we all up at fucking seven-thirty?" I asked them.
"Because we need to pack," Bryon said smirking at me. Oh if I could just completely erase that smirk off his face. Then I saw Hayden coming down the stairs then he slapped him in the head and hit him in the arm. Bryon groaned in pain then narrowed his eyes at my mate.
"You're gonna pay for that Pierce," he threatened.
"Oh really now, next time you'll know not to wake me up so fucking early in the morning," Hayden said then made his way over to me, "glad to know you waited upstairs for me babe," he finished making me smile at his retreating figure as he made his way to le kitchen. When he came back, he had two bottles of water in his hand and handed me one. I silently thanked him and looked back at the guys.
"Come on guys, let's get packing," James said. Everyone groaned and I looked around. Wait, why is...
"Where is Natalya?" I asked Bryon.
"She's upstairs sleep---ahh, she's upstairs packing," he lied.
"I can't believe you!" I said as I threw a cushion at him. Everyone started to complain about how they had to get up but she got to sleep in.
"Guys, come on, be reasonable here. We came in a bit late so it's only fair that she sleeps in," Bryon said.
"Everyone came in late, asswipe," Jonah argued. Bryon glared at him because of the name he was called then looked up the stairs when he heard footsteps.
"You don't have to kill him, I wasn't sleeping," Nat said as she rolled her eyes, "besides, we still had to end up packing anyway."
"Yeah, but not so early. Who the hell gets up at seven-thirty on a Saturday?" Conner protested.
"The quicker we get the packing out of the way, the more free time we'd have later so let's get it on," Hayden finally said as he sighed.
Four hours later...
Finally! I was finished packing. Oh my gosh, I am so tired right now. If someone calls me one more time---
"Zara?"
"What?!" I answered Hayden. He entered the room with his hands up as if in surrender.
"Wow, wow, wow, what did I do?" he asked. I sighed and dropped myself on the bed.
"Nothing, I'm just really tired," I said. I closed my eyes when I felt his hands go around me and the bed dip.
"Then probably you should just take a break, babe," he whispered as he kissed my neck.
"I can't," I said, "it's better for me to just had finish everything and then get some rest," I said as I twisted my body to face him then lay down on his chest.
"Well you're finished now, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I guess so," I said as I yawned out of exhaustion.
"You shouldn't be tiring yourself like that," he said then sighed, "are you gonna sleep now then."
"That's a pretty good idea," I mumbled in his chest as my eyes closed. He chuckled and ran his hands down my back trying to get me comfortable.

"Sleep tight," he said and those were the last words I heard before I was completely out.
Hayden's POV
An hour later...
Zara slept comfortably on my chest. I could hear her steady breathing while I saw her chest rise up and down. She looked so peaceful when she was asleep. Not saying that she didn't look peaceful when she was awake...ahh, who am I kidding, she looks devious and mysterious. When you think she's up to no good, you have to be on the alert. She might just strike you. I laughed at the thought. I brushed a strand of hair away from her face and she stirred in her sleep. My little angel. Then I got a mind link from Keith.
'Hayden, there's a group of rogues near Cashew Park,' he said to me. My mind immediately left from thinking about her to the news I just received.
'What, how did they get there?' I asked. That's the largest park/shopping centre in the whole area, how the hell did they manage to get there?
'I have absolutely no clue. My men tried to ask them politely if they could leave, but they insist on staying. The leader says that he wants to speak with the Alpha of this pack.'
'How many are there right now?'
'Who, my men or his?'
'His men, Keith,' I said impatiently, 'why the hell would I be asking about your men?'
'I don't know,' he said then answered my question, 'there's about six of them. Four boys, two girls.'
'Alright, I'll be there in a second.' Then informed the guys.
'Guys, there's a group of rouges in Cashew Park.'
'What, how the hell did they get in that area?' Conner asked.
'That's what I said,' I said.
'That's the most guarded area of Triton territory,' James retorted.
'Yeah, how the hell could they have got in?' Jonah asked.
'Alright, the leader of these rouges demanded that he wants to talk to me so we're gonna leave in about ten minutes, got it,' I said. They all agreed then I tried to get out of the bed as softly as I could, but unfortunately, I woke up Zara.
"Hayden?" she said tiredly.
"Hey baby, I was trying not to wake you," I apologized.
"No, it's fine. I was supposed to get up any time now," she said then she got up and stretched. My eyes went wondering to her exposed stomach as she stretched. Once she caught where my eyes were, she immediately pulled her blouse down.
"Pervert," she mumbled as she got up.
"Only around you, besides am I not allowed to look at my beautiful mate," I said and placed a quick kiss on her sweet lips. She smiled when we pulled away.
"Where were you getting up to go to anyway?" she asked and that completely wiped the smile off my face. Reason being, I had to get away from my mate.
"There's a group of rouges at Cashew Park, the largest park and shopping mall in the area," I said.
"So, I'm guessing as the Alpha you have to go check it out," she said then looked down.
"Yeah, so I'm gonna be right back,"
"No, I'm coming with you," she said as she went to wash her face. I stared at her back and waited for her to come back out. What did she mean by she was coming with me?
"What do you---" I was about to ask but she cut me off.
"Hayden, you and your pack have no experience with rouges and I know if I wasn't your mate, you would have either killed me or lock me up in your 'precious' basement,"
"That completely besides the point, and I wouldn't have done that to you,"
"Yes you would have," she said finally, "anyway whether you like it or not, I'm coming."
"Zara, you're not coming with me," I said to her, "it's gonna be too dangerous. I will not allow you to put yourself in danger like that."
"What are they gonna do Hayden, attack me?" she asked.
"I don't know, and that's why you're not going,"
"Can you stop being ridiculous. No one knows rogues better than I do, and I know they won't want to talk to an Alpha," she said. I growled at her.
"Zara, I don't have time for this right now," I said then sighed, "Can you just...please just stay right here. I'm begging you. I'll really appreciate it." Then I went up to her and kissed her forehead.
"Hayden, I---"
"I'll be right back," I said then went through the front door where the pack was waiting on me.
Zara's POV
I growled in anger as Hayden left the room. Why did he feel that I couldn't defend myself? Afraid I might get hurt...oh please. Just wait until they leave then I'll go by myself; it's no sweat to me. I glared at the closed door then made my way over to the window. I saw all the guys listening to Hayden, probably making some ground rules. Then they were off running through the forest. Giving them a fifteen minute head start, then I jumped through the window and shifted.
When I arrived at Cashew Park, I shifted back and put on the clothes I had. Then I walked around and tried to find where they said these rouges were. Well, this is getting me nowhere. I continued to walk around then I saw Jonah trying to get some of the elderly ladies into the building. I went up to him and he looked around and his eyes widened.
"What the hell are you doing here?" he asked, "didn't Hayden tell you to stay at the house?"
"I'm here to help," I said.
"Zara, you shouldn't have---" he was about to say when Logan came up.
"Zara, what the hell?"
"I don't have time for this. Where's Hayden?" I asked. They both looked at each other then pointed over to the right, "thanks and you better not tell him I'm here. I mean it boys." Then I walked over to where they pointed and saw someone I would have ever seen in the rest of my life.
"Lucas!" I screamed.
*****************************************
Ohh, who is this Lucas dude now? Doesn't Zara have a lot of guys in her life, tehehe. and apparently, Drake lied about being in the Redwood Pack (Bryon's pack if some of you guys forgot) then where the hell did he come from? What about Bryon and Natalya? Do you think they're gonna get together?
