Chapter 26- Going Back Home
Zara's POV
We started our journey back to the pack house. Sadly, after we both woke up this morning Hayden told me that we had to leave by mid-day. The drive to go all the way back was the maximum of four hours.
"How far are we now?" I asked again and Hayden sighed heavily, tired of me asking the same question.
"Far enough Zara," he answered.
"You always say that to me," I retorted.
"Zara, just relax. We're almost there," he said putting two hands on the wheel, "why don't you get some rest. You look kind of tired."
"Fine, at least it'll keep me occupied," I said with a huff and then turned to lie on my left side. He chuckled but said nothing more. Time for sleep...
...............................................................
"Wow, the lovebirds finally come back from their pre-honeymoon," James said as Hayden parked the car. He rolled his eyes at James' comment.
"Pre-honeymoon?" he asked in amusement.
"Yeah, you guys just disappear for two days straight," Jonah teased, "I'm surprised Zara didn't come back with a mark on her neck and a new scent." I briefly saw Hayden glance at me but said nothing.
"So, what did you guys do while we were away?" I asked trying to change the subject. Before anyone could answer, I high-pitch scream came from the house.
"How could you not tell me you were going away, you bitch?" Natalya asked as she came up to me and gave me a tight hug. I smiled and hugged her back.
"Well where were you for...how much was it, about three, four days?" I asked back.
"I was with...someone," she said. I gave her the look that said we were gonna talk later so she rolled her eyes and looked everywhere else but at me. Back to the topic at hand...
"Oh the usual. But we're kind of packing up for school and all," Abigale said.
"Oh right, you guys are going to school, right?"
"No, we're going to school," Hayden corrected. I rolled my eyes and turned to him.
"I told you I wasn't going to another high school,"
"And if you remember that, then you should remember what I told you after you said that," he replied with a smartass comment. I gave him the finger then returned to the conversation.
"Anyway, when do you guys start?" I asked.
"We start next week Monday," James answered which made me groan.
"Guys, I'm not---"
"You really thought we would all go to school and leave you here in a four story house by yourself?" Conner asked.
"Yes, I would but apparently I was wrong," I muttered to myself.
"This house has four stories?" I heard Lilly ask as she made her way to us. She greeted us and said 'welcome back' then turned her attention to James. She was looking at him like he was her everything.
Maybe Hayden and I could be like that...
"So where are we going this Friday as a... I don't know...a last night of freedom?" James asked.
"I don't know, what's the first thing that comes to your mind?"
Silence.
Then out the blue, all the guys blurted out the same thing. At the same.
"The club,"
................................................................
Friday Night
"I can't believe I'm doing this," I said to myself as I put on the dress that Abigale gave me. Why did the boys have to pick clubs? Couldn't they have more class or something?

Relax, you're gonna have fun, my wolf tried to reassure me.
I hope your still thinking that when Hayden is looking down all those chests tonight, I replied at her. She scolded at me.
He won't be looking at anyone else, Zara. He loves you.
Yeah, and that what---
I was about to answer my wolf when the door burst open.
"Aren't you ready yet?" Lilly asked as she came in. I rolled my eyes at her and turned around.
"Why are you all so impatient?" I asked as I shook my head.
"Not me, the boys are complaining about how we made them get ready long before we did then we just put them outside like a bunch of dogs," she replied with a sheepish grin, "no pun intended." I laughed at the thought of it. Yes, we made them change them we put the out by the cars so we could get ready in peace and surprise the boys, but they were so impatient. Can't they just leave us be.
"Then let them wait, it won't do much to them anyway,"
"But they're threatening to come inside, so we need to hurry up. We don't want to spoil the surprise, now do we?"
"Alright, is everyone ready now?" Abigale asked as she stepped in the room. She was wearing a red spaghetti strap dress with her black heels. Her hair was curled down so it swished when the wind bellowed. She added some accessories plus she put on her bright red Blackberry case on her phone.
"Wow, Abi that dress is so amazing," Lilly complimented. She was wearing a yellow mini-halter dress with gold stilettos. She did her long hair up in a pony tail and placed a gold butterfly brosset in it. Abigale smiled.
"Thanks, I hope Conner loves it,"
"Believe me, he will. He won't be able to keep his eyes off you," I said making her laugh.
"The guys are complaining about how we're keeping them too long," Natalya said as she rolled her eyes. She was dressed in a baby pink O-Ring mini dress. The sleeves were designed so they fell on her shoulders and (even though she was dressed in pink) she managed to look both devious and angelic.
"As I told Lilly, let them wait," I replied.
"Oh, come on don't be so cruel," Lilly said.
"Well, is everyone ready?" Maya asked, "Because it would be so cool if we all walked out walking sexily to them." We all murmured in agreement. Maya was dressed in a greenish-blue strapless dress with ruched sides and a leather chain belt to complement the outfit. She matched it with a pair of brown leather heels and some accessories. Her auburn hair was straightened down so it rested on her shoulders.
"So what are we waiting for?" Natalya said, "Let’s do this."
Hayden's POV
"What's taking the girls so long?" I asked the boys as I leaned up on my Jeep. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"We asked them to get ready for a night at the club; not a fashion show," Conner agreed also sighing impatiently.
"Chicks will always be chicks, dude," James said crossing his arms. We had already arranged the driving arrangements so we all knew who would be drinking from who would have to drive our drunken asses back here. Conner (who doesn't really drink much) would be driving one of the Jeeps while I would be driving the next.

"James, didn't you tell them to hurry their asses up?" Jonah asked angrily.
"Oh finally here they come," Conner said. We all looked up and I know for sure my jaw fell out of its socket. Zara was wearing a purple open-back dress with spagetti straps. Damn, she looked beautiful. The dress clung to her thighs and it was so high above her knees. It made her look like she was most definitely the devil's angel.
My Angel.
She swayed her hips and planted herself in front of me. Then she wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Hey sexy," she greeted me, her voice sounded so seductive. I growled and wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Damn, you look hot," I said as I bent my head down to the crook her neck. She smelt so good. Like chocolate mixed with the Channel perfume she was wearing.
"Thanks babe," she said then she turned to the group.
"Are we ready to go?"
"Let's hit it," James said and we were off.
.................................................................................
Zara's POV
Can you blow my whistle baby, whistle baby Let me know
Girl I'm gonna show you how to do it and we start real slow
You just put your lips together and you come real close
Can you blow my whistle baby, whistle baby Here we go
We were welcomed to Flo Rida's Whistle when we got to the club. The music from inside could be heard because there were enormous speakers outside. We all got out of the car and walked up to the front entrance.
"Wait, how are we gonna get in Hayden?" Jenna asked.
"Don't worry about it," Hayden said then we all followed him curiously to the security at the door.
"Hey man, what's up?" he said then he did a fist bump with him.
"Hey 'sup dude?" the doorman said, "long time no see. How's the Kings?"
"The packs great. Mostly teens are here though. Think you can get us in?"
"You didn't even have to ask man. And I hear the chicks in there are fucking hot!" he said. Hayden laughed.
"Nah man, got a mate now so I'm not interested," he said as he wrapped his arm around my waist. I blushed as all attention shifted to me.
"I never thought I'd see the day Hayden Pierce settled down," the guy said while he laughed. I saw Hayden roll his eyes at him.
"Anyway, this is our eleven so we wanna go in now. I'll see if we can arrange something. Your family still here, right?" Hayden asked and the guy nodded in response then let us in. When we were inside I turned to Hayden, who still had his arm around me guiding me forward.
"How do you know him?" I asked him. He looked down at me and smirked.
"He used to work for the pack a while back when my dad was still the Alpha. Gotta have some perks to being Alpha, right?"
"You're so full of yourself," I said as I shook my head.
"Hey, you can be full of me too, you know," he said. I gave him the finger then looked up when I saw a familiar face.
"Yo, Pierce!" Bryon managed to shout over the loud music. What the hell was he doing here? I thought as I smiled to myself. Hayden nodded a greeting to him then turned to the rest of us. I glanced over at Natalya and saw that she was trying not to look at him.
"Alright guys, Bryon and I managed to rent out the four boots for V.I.P's upstairs so you can go do whatever you want but that's where both packs will be," he stated to them. Hayden dragged me and I looked at Natalya.
"Uhh...Hayden can I talk to Nat for a minute?" I asked him. He looked at me suspiciously then let me go.
"Is this about Bryon?" he asked me in a whisper and I nodded. He sighed and then glanced up at Bryon.
"And I guess you want me to talk to Bryon about it?" again, I nodded and kissed his cheek.
"You're the best," I said to him.
"So I've been told, so I've been told," he said making me laugh as I walked to the bar where Natalya stood. I leaned up against the bar in front of her and ordered a dirty martini.
"Whatever you're about to say, I'm not gonna listen to you," she said to me as she dunked her shot. I shook my head and stared at her intensely.
"Well, I want an honest answer now. Did Bryon really reject you?"
"Zara, please don't start this again," she whined.
"No, I want a serious answer right now because Hayden called Bryon and asked him if he was the one who rejected you and---"
"Wait, you made Hayden call him?!"
"Just tell me the---" I was about to say when voices rang behind me.
"Hey, Nat can I talk to you for a sec?" Bryon asked her. She turned to look at him then back at her drink.
"I'm talking to Zara right now, you're gonna have to wait," Nat said. Bryon groaned and walked closer to her.
"C'mon, please Nat, please?" he begged looking deeply into her eyes. She sighed and both of them headed to the exit of the club. Arms enveloped me and as they went around, I was confused as to who would wrap their arms around me like that except Hayden. I knew it wasn't him because normally I would feel the sparks run though my body each time he touched me.
"Guess who?"
Oh my gosh... It couldn't be...
"Oh my gosh, Drake!" I squealed as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He chuckled and tightened his hold on me.
"Missed me?" he asked when he pulled away.
"Most definitely," I said then I heard a growl from behind me. I froze and immediately let go of Drake. I felt Hayden's arms go around my waist and brought me to his rock hard chest.
"Mine," he snarled in my ear then inhaled my scent. I sighed and turned around in his arms.
"Hayden, relax, I'm not going anywhere," I said to him. Once he calmed down, I turned back around to look at Drake.
"Drake, this is Hayden, my mate," I introduced, "Hayden, this is Drake, my friend that I met at the cafe the first night that we fought." They shook hands but Hayden kept glaring at Drake and, by the looks of it, Drake didn't like it.
"Hayden can you stop that," I scolded at him.
"So, you're the reason why this beautiful young lady looked so depressed at Starbucks few weeks ago?" Drake asked. Hayden growled at him but didn't answer.
"Don’t, Drake, just don’t," I said to him.
"What, Zara I'm just starting the facts," he said never taking his eyes off Hayden.
"Don't start this shit with me, mutt?" Hayden said to him pushing me behind him.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, guys relax. Try to remember where we are please," James said coming up to us.
"Dude, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave," Conner said politely.
"Oh, do you guys own this place too?" Drake asked skeptically. Hayden growled angrily at him and tried to step towards him but Jonah and Logan held him back.
"I advise you to leave my presence, fast," Hayden growled at him, "and never touch my mate again." Drake scoffed.
"As you wish, but I can't say I won't touch her again," he stated, "because I most definitely will." He finished then walked away, but not before he winked at me. I rolled my eyes at him. Just because I told him about my issue with Hayden, that's the reason for his fabulous behavior.
Way to go, Drake. Way to go...

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
