《Protected by BTS》Chapter 21: Like Tokyo Drift?

You were currently in the back middle seat with Hoseok driving, Yoongi in the passenger seat, and Taehyung and Jimin on either side of you, The other boys were in another car in front of you guys. After breakfast, they told you to get ready and you headed for their personal parking garage below the MIK Enterprises building.
After about a 30 minute drive, the cars had pull up to what seemed like a small hydroelectric power plant. It was more of a factory and was gated around to ward off trespassers.
The cars drove around back and parked in one of the openings of the wall. Behind this wall was what seemed to be the real entrance of the power plant with at least a dozen men in black suits wandering around.
Everyone got out of the cars and the passing men in black in the room bowed in respect.
"Uh..." You muttered under your breath and stopped walking as the rest of the boys didn't have a care in the world. Taehyung, behind you, had placed his hand at the small of your back urging you forward. He, and all the other boys, could sense your confusion and discomfort.
Taehyung continued to lead you with the boys as they maneuvered throughout the factory/power plant. "This is what you can call like our home base. We run many of our operations here, have our important shipments and stocks stored here. We work here if not at home."
Yoongi joined into the conversation, "It's disguised as a hydroelectric power plant for a small international business venture but in reality it's where we basically run Bangtan."
You nodded slightly in partial understanding.
"Well, I have to deal with the paperwork from the overnight imports from the dock," Namjoon sighed as he knew he wasn't looking forward to it. "Oh, Jin hyung? Can we arrange a meeting at your club for that new weapons drop?"
Namjoon became startled when he remembered you still were here, "Oh, Misun-ah! Aish, you ... you ..."

You were confused as to where he was going with this until Hoseok interjected. "Hey, RM. I'll babysit her, don't stress yourself out. You should get going." He said as he wrapped an arm over your shoulders as you scoffed when he said the word 'babysit.'
After he had said it, you had noticed Namjoon being on edge lately. You didn't want to ask but you assumed that it was something obviously behind the scenes so maybe you shouldn't get too involved. Hoseok dragged you along waving a small 'bye' to the other members as they parted ways throughout the building. "So everyone just separates and does their own thing?"
"Yeah basically. We all have our own specialty to run Bangtan. It's kind of like a house and we're all responsible for taking care of it."
"Specialty? House?" You asked as he finally lifted his arm off of you and you were just following him around the place the whole time.
He chuckled at your confusion and stopped at the end of a hallway to open the last door for you. "Ahh, well... You know how businesses have leaders for different areas? For example, Chief of Advising, Chief of Treasury, Chief of something else?" You laughed.
"I couldn't think of another chief," Hoseok pouted and continued walking straight. "Let's just say we all do our part to keep Bangtan successful in this way. We all are in charge of one aspect of the gang."
You nodded and went through the door he held open for you. Entering it, it was just a large, empty office space with files scattered throughout the lone desk in the corner. Hoseok groaned loudly but like a little kid whining.
"Wow! Do you see all those files on my desk? I have to go through all of them!" He pouted once more and sat at his desk starting to organize it.
"What even are those?"

He held one up to show it to you and you recognized it. "Car registration slips?"
Hoseok nodded before taking it back from you and started to reorganize the stacks on his desk. "These are counterfeit car registration forms. We sell these cars off and make profit. That or we bet them in drag races. There are from a lot of bets on street races. You usually can bet anything but a lot of people usually just bet slips."
You had an emotionless face but were intrigued by the notions of street racing. "Street racing? Like the ones in the movies where they close off roads and they flip cars?! Oh! Or like in Tokyo drift where-"
He stopped you there and laughed. "Movies are cliches, Misun-ah. But they aren't too far off from the real thing. I actually have to go to one of the races tonight. I might even race since it's been awhile so I'll ask RM to bring you with me."
You smiled, liking the idea. Then you took a seat on the large couch adjacent to his desk. You regretted not bringing your laptop so you could do something while being babysat but Hoseok noticed your bored demeanor and threw you the remote to the TV in the corner.
"I usually watch movies in the background but you can put something on."
You turned on the TV and it immediately resumed a romantic movie you somewhat recognized. "Does oppa watch romantic movies?" You made fun and his eyes went wide giving himself away.
He scoffs and looked away, focusing on his work again, "Romance movies are very entertaining! What's wrong with a man who's in touch with his feelings?!" He shook his head and you laughed assuring him that it was a joke and you weren't actually judging.
You settled on some movie and watched while Hoseok did work behind you.
~~~
Somehow you had fallen asleep through the hours of romantic movies while being 'babysat' by Hoseok. You had woken up to his light shaking of your shoulders and squinted your eyes to see the clock. You had fallen asleep for about an hour.
"MiSun-ah, wake up. I asked RM if I could bring you tonight and he said yes. Get up already!" He said and you just closed your eyes again. "Wow, you're like the maknaes." Hobi said referring to your tiredness.
He threw a few articles of clothing at you and you squinted your eyes again to inspect it. "I got a few clothes for you since we don't want you standing out do we?"
You finally sat up and saw how provocative the clothing was. There was no way you could see yourself wearing something like this in public.
Hoseok noticed and chuckled, "If you wanna go, you should wear it. It'll be better that you don't stick out."
"Oh I'm sure I'll stick out."
The door swung open and Yoongi walked in nonchalantly seeing that you're awake. "Ah, should we get going then? I have to drop some orders."
"Drop some orders?" You asked innocently and once again they ignored it.
"Yes we should. MiSun-ah, put that on. We'll be in the hallway."
"This is a little too revealing for my liking, oppa!" You said in fear.
Yoongi reassures you, "That's how people dress to these kind of things. Not sweatpants with bunny ears on their butt." He pointed to the sweatpants you were currently wearing and glared at him.
Yoongi was shocked at your daring glare and faked gasp and grabbed Hoseok. "Woah! She seems like she would be scarier than Jiminie when mad!" He said mockingly and you shooed them out of the room so you can finally change.
"Yah! You're so annoying."
Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
