《Protected by BTS》Chapter 14: History Lesson

"You knew N-" You almost said 'Namjoon' but remembered what the boys had told you earlier. They use stage names in the outside world and that they had earlier told you to call them that in public.
"You knew RM's father and my father?"
Dr. Choi answered, "You can call him Kim Namjoon in front of me. I know his real identity as well because I am an old family friend of his and your father. Kyoung JiWon hyung was my sunbae. We all knew each other well before RM's father had passed."
You smiled in hopes of finding out more about your father. Sure you knew your father, but you didn't know about his past. He was very secretive about everything in his past life, and you now knew why -- he was involved in the illegal world. You scoffed to yourself when you finally understood why he was such a versatile man. How else could he be such a skilled doctor and computer technician? But hey, you learned from the best I guess.
"My father never talked about his past life. I thought it was because he was an orphan and didn't always have much to tell me, but I know that's not the case now. Could you tell me about him?" You said softly.
"Ahh of course. Well, Kyoung Ji Won was always a talented guy. RM'S grandparents were very influential people back in the day because of their holdings in the MIK Group. My parents served as their bodyguard and chief of security. One day, when he was still very young, RM's father had almost been kidnapped for the family's money. Your father was an orphan on the street who had just so happened to witness this and saved him.
Indebted to him, the family took him in and took care of him. They treated him like a new member of the family and the two became best friends. Those hyungs grew up together and were always inseparable. Your father was the intelligent one, always was. Whenever he got the chance, he would be working on computers or had his head in a book.

I'd imagine that's how he is now but I haven't seen him since I graduated high school. My parents had sent me to the U.S. for medical school and in that time, RM's father died and the whole incident ..."
Hoseok stood up to interject him, followed by the rest of the boys, "Dr. Choi, I think that's enough story time for today."
You frowned, "Wait, I want to hear the rest of the story!"
"Perhaps another time, MiSun-ah." Jimin assured and you rolled your eyes.
"There are other problems at hand. Tell Dr. Choi about your anxiety attack." Taehyung said nonchalantly.
"Anxiety attack?"
"Your what?"
You were shocked. You had calmed yourself down and thought no one ever realized. No one had seen you have a full blown panic attack.
"How-how did you know-?"
Taehyung cut you off abruptly in a somewhat defensive manner, "I know what an anxiety attack looks like. Post traumatic stress anxiety needs treating. You can't go through stuff like that alone." He said almost angrily. Taehyung's demeanor made it seem as it was personal to him. You could only imagine he had gone through something similar, especially since Hoseok and Jimin gave him an empathetic look.
You gave up and sighed, "Fine. I have been having anxiety attacks ever since that night. I've been able to calm myself down for most of the time, but sometimes I get into my thoughts or something will trigger it and ... and I'll just break."
Dr. Choi sat down beside you, "Whatever you've been through, must've been hard. It's only the body's natural response to something traumatic. I'll write you a prescription and it'll help, I promise. You should also avoid too much alone time. Having someone to be there for you during troubled times is always good."

You knew he was right and nodded. "Thank you. And thank you for telling me about my father."
"Of course," he started writing down a prescription and handed it to you. "You can pick it up at the pharmacy when it's ready. There will be instructions on the bottle," He stood up, "Well, I have other patients to attend to. Is there anything else you guys need?"
"No, and if it isn't, we know where to find you." Hoseok said.
Dr. Choi shook your hand and whispered to you'd only you could hear, "You're welcome any time. Maybe we can talk about about your father some more the next time we see each other." You smiled and he winked at you before saying his good byes to the other boys. He walked you guys out to the car and you went to the house.
~~~
A few days had passed and you spent all of your time in the living room on your laptop. You had been collecting data and trying to figure out what happened to your dad.
At first, you had found the security cameras and saw that your father was dragged at gunpoint into a car. Despite this, you almost cried in joy. This was proof that he was alive or that whoever took him wanted him alive.
It took awhile to hack and access all the CCTV cameras but once you did, you saw the car dissapear into an alleyway. You've been having trouble ever since locating it and that's what you've been spending your entire few days doing.
You wished the boys had left you alone but it seemed like each of them were on a mission to do the exact opposite. You're just lucky that most of them had to go out today, leaving you alone in the house for the first time.
It made your day that you could really enjoy some alone time, despite what Dr. Choi had said. The boys really were insufferable, asking you so many questions, wanting to get to know you. You thought it was nice and cute of them, but you had more pressing matters to deal with. At least it wasn't too awkward with them anymore.
A beeping noise on your computer brought you back to your research. You had been trying face recognition software on nearby areas on where the car was last seen but the quality was too pixelated to decipher through.
You punched the couch pillow in frustration. You were getting no where near close to your father's whereabouts and thought you needed to clear your head. A good cruising usually helped you with that. You needed to find another angle, another way to locate your father.
No one knows I'm here. No one knows I'm associated with BTS. I'll be fine? I can be back before any of the boys come back.
You had decided. You wanted some fresh air, sick of being in the penthouse for days on end. You were thankful that your skateboard fit into the backpack your dad has given you or else the boys wouldn't have taken it that night they kidnapped you. You reluctantly took your skateboard and went down the elevator shaft.
