《Forced: Kidnapped by a Vampire Master (Book One)》Chapter 26

The sun had begun to set over the trees in front of the lake, it was beautiful. The water lit up orange and pink as the sunset got brighter. I wish I could stay here forever, somewhere peaceful, quiet . . . without the drama of my life . . . the drama being Alex and everything else.
As I sat there staring into the distance, my mind started to wonder, was going to bed with Kane a good idea? I'm not having second thoughts about it because of what Cinders told me, I'm having second thoughts because . . . well . . . would what I've done hurt Alex?
I shook my head. What a stupid thing to think. As if I could hurt him. To hurt someone, they have to care about you in the first place and . . . seeing him . . . with someone else, really hurt me. He would've known that, he would've felt that, so if he can do that to me . . . he obviously didn't care.
Closing my eyes, I just decided to enjoy the quiet, but wondered how long I'd actually be able to stay here before someone came looking for me. I was technically still in Alex's garden, but hey, who knows with that guy.
"What are you doing out here?" I shot up, looking around to see where the voice came from but didn't see anyone.
"Alex?"
"Yes?" Hearing the voice coming from behind me, I turned quickly, but there still wasn't anyone there.
"Where are you?"
"Around." Scanning the field, he was still nowhere to be found. Ah!! See, this is what I meant by drama. Can't the stupid man just be normal for once! "Vampires aren't normal."
"Stop reading my fucking mind!" Laying back down on the grass, I crossed my arms and pouted.

Suddenly, something . . . or rather someone leaned over me, blocking the light, shadowing me. I knew exactly who it would be so I kept my eyes shut. If he wasn't mad at me, he was coming to annoy me, and either way, I could do without both.
"Can I sit with you?"
"Free country." The shadow in front of my eyes disappeared and he sat down on the grass next to me.
"Nothing is free in life."
"It's a figure of speech."
Nothing was said for a little while after that, and by the time something popped into my head, it was getting dark and cold.
"I thought you didn't come here."
"What do you mean?"
"I was told this is one place you don't come." I opened my eyes slightly and looked up at Alex, he was just staring back at me. Suddenly feeling self-conscious, I closed my eyes and tried to hide my smile.
"I don't normally . . . but I needed to talk to you." I started to worry, oh shit!
"Oh, w-what about?"
"You know what about. I know about you and Kane Rose." I opened my eyes and sat up.
"Please Alex, I'm sorry." He grabbed my face in his hands roughly and pulled my head close to him, making me fall in front of him, looking up at him again I noticed his eyes were red. "Alex . . . please!"
"Please what?!" He started digging his nails into my cheek, I could feel something run down my face . . . almost tickling. He made me bleed.
"Forgive me." His fingers started squeezing my face harder . . . so hard , it felt like my teeth were going to shatter.
"Why?" Growling through his clenched teeth, he let me go, pushing me back into the grass and was on top of me in a blink of an eye.

"I'm sorry." At that point, tears were free-falling down my face, as I begged for him to forgive me. Lowering his head, and letting his tongue dangle out of his mouth, he licked up the blood from my face. I stayed still, looking up at the now darkening sky, focusing purely on that.
I was thrown back into reality when I felt his sharp teeth scrape down my neck.
"I know you are." And with that, he got up. "Come, let's go back to the house." I didn't want to. I didn't want to go anywhere with him. "Rose? I said come!" Standing up, keeping my gaze down, I followed him back to the house, hoping when we got there that there weren't any surprises waiting for me when I got there . . .

Nights of Sambria: And the Wish of Light
“I discovered a secret. One I desperately wish could have stayed hidden. It was locked away, concealed in a fantastical world on the doorstep of 7 billion people who stayed utterly oblivious to it. If they will be spared the terror that is coming, I can’t begin to imagine. Know that a forgotten heritage of a dwindling people whispered, unknowingly sending a call to the ancient mysteries of the world. Something listened. And now events are set in motion that could force the earth on a course of terrible change. I am being hunted and have run out of time. There were no stories about it. No legends. Not even scribbles. Yet, the threat of it is real and that’s why I’m writing this warning with shaking hands. So pay attention those who read this, be careful of what lies waiting cloaked in the darkness. That which made their home the lost places of this world.” She folded the letter with a shuddering breath and stared back in the direction from where the noise reverberated through the halls. It was of stone doors shattering one by one. The chances of getting out safely were all but gone. The letter in her hand was all warning they would have. It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. Was fun, was difficult, but in the end, it is a story I hope that will inspire. The prologue is in first person perspective and the rest of the story in 3d. Just a little heads-up :P It is a fantasy epic with a contemporary twist for the start. The first arc of the novel is set inside our modern world, but as the mysterious events around Calin intensifies, the hidden secrets in the world start to become more fantastical. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. But, the answers he seeks will change his life and that of his friends forever, for the secrets that caused his situation have far greater ramifications than the small village of Lamb's Crest could have known. Remember to leave ratings and reviews. I'm quite interested in hearing your thoughts on the story. ;) Enjoy reading, Omri Hope

Solstice Anthology
A collection of short stories I've written over the past few years, the centerpiece being "Solstice" itself: On the Winter Solstice, the wind whispered. It roared and blew across the world, and reached even the Heavens above. With it, the great cold of winter flooded across that higher plane, and the gods staggered. They felt the golden dust of their divinity drift away from them, and the message of that wind became clear… This Winter will never end so that the Earth will.
