《Alpha Grayson》Chapter 3

"Ayanna" my name flows out effortlessly from his lips; it sounds like one hundred arch angels have sung my name in harmony. I have never heard my name sound so good before.
"I'm Grayson." He says, whilst smiling down at me.
"N-nice to mee-t you" I stutter again. I mentally face palm myself, I never stammer.
He just laughs at my response. "You too, kitten." He replies.
I ignore the rather strange nickname once again and look up into his eyes. They are the most beautiful that I have ever seen and I can't help but stare into them, getting lost in the never ending darkness that lay there.
"Ermm, I should really get going now." I say awkwardly, rocking back and forth whilst looking at the hard rocks underneath my feet as if they were the most interesting rocks in history.
"I'll walk you." He replies rather harshly.
"It's ok I can walk myself." I say confidently, looking up at him once again.
His already dark eyes turn even darker, pitch black. His pupils have completely disappeared and the rims of his eyes have a strange but beautiful golden glow around them.
Under normal circumstances, I would have ran, or at the very least stepped back after seeing something like that, something so inhumane. However, I couldn't move, I was completely and utterly entranced by this man in front of me.
I have never used the adjective beautiful, to describe a male before. It never seemed fitting but for Grayson that was exactly what he was - beautiful. His face was sculpted to perfection; he had well defined cheekbones and slight stubble. His dark hair was wavy and framed his face perfectly. Don't even get me started on his body. It should be illegal to be so well built and attractive.

"I said I'll walk you, it's getting dark and you don't know what shadows could be lurking around in these forests. Trust me; you don't want to be walking around this area alone, especially not late at night." He growls at me lowly.
That made me snap back to reality, I laugh nervously looking at him in the eyes with fear, he sighs and mutters something low under his breath. Suddenly his eyes go back to their original state. His eyes weren't normal; it didn't take a genius to figure that out.
"I saw you this morning. You moved in to the house opposite the pack hou- my house." He quickly corrects himself. "I'll walk you; I'm going in that direction anyways." He finishes off while turning around and heading back through the forest.
I look around the beach one last time and hurriedly follow in his footsteps until we're walking side by side through the dark forest.
Forty minutes, a few blisters and a long awkward silence later I was finally standing outside of my house.
"Alright then, I'll see you around!" I say quickly before turning around and heading inside.
"Ayanna wait!" I hear Grayson shout. I sigh deeply through my nose before turning around. He seemed annoyed, his eyebrows were furrowed together and he was holding the bridge of his nose as if he had a serious migraine.
"This encounter didn't really go the way I wanted it to go." He began.
"This is going to sound crazy but I've been waiting for you for a while now and this isn't how I wanted your first impression of me to be. How about you come around for dinner tomorrow?" he asks.
For the short time that I've known this guy this was the first time he looked nervous, unsure and...slightly hopeful?

The thought of this tall, big bulky guy in the kitchen with a 'kiss the chef' apron and a wooden spoon in his right hand made me laugh out loud, I couldn't help it.
I see Grayson's shoulders drop in front of me, but when I think about it, there's just something about him that has me falling way quicker than I would have ever imagined that a girl could fall for a guy. He scares me but he also makes me feel extremely safe and at ease. So with those thoughts in mind I open up my stupid mouth and reply.
"Sure, why not." I say smiling at him, wiping away stray tears from my laugh outburst.
I mentally face palm myself again and regret the response as soon as I say it. Nevertheless, I turn back around and walk into my house, just before I open the door to step inside I turn around to look at him one last time. Just to make sure that he's still there and that I'm not going mad and need to get admitted into a psychiatric ward.
Sure enough he is still standing on the porch with a cocky grin on his perfectly sculptured face.
I smile at him and quickly open the door and step inside. I close the door behind me and slide down with my back against the front door.
"Oh Grayson, what have you gotten me into?" I ask myself.
