《The War Luna》Heat

Aidan found himself enjoying the night with the guys. They were an entertaining bunch and made him feel so welcome, more so than he felt he deserved after some of his behaviour earlier in the week. He met friends, cousins and Ronan's brother Cain. They had enjoyed a four course dinner and more drinks in a restaurant in the next town before heading to a nearby bar. They were seated in an area that had been sectioned off especially for them. They sat in a huge U-shaped couch which had a table running down the middle. A waiter came to take their drinks orders and kept refills coming. The music was not loud enough that they couldn't all enjoy their conversations. There was a huge crowd on the dance floor which they had a clear view of from their seats.
Aidan could see where Alex got her talent for spinning tales as her father, Hank, regaled them with stories from Ronan's youth; what he was like as a teenager, the trouble he had gotten into, the fights, all leading up to how proud he was when he had stepped up as Alpha. Hank managed to include almost every friend and relation that was around the table in the various stories. It was quite a talent to be so inclusive of everyone. They slapped each other's backs, high fived and toasted the parts of the tales that they found particularly hilarious to be reliving. Alex, Robbie and Nolan seemed to have caused their fair share of trouble and mischief to the pack as they had grown up. Aidan was also surprised to learn that Robbie's father had sent his son to Black Mountain to be trained by Alex, her reputation for turning out incredible warriors already established way back then. It felt alien to Aidan, hearing the pride and respect Hank had for his sons and daughter. Hank and Ronan hugged each other often during their conversation and clearly each enjoyed the company of the other.
Aidan thought briefly about his own father and his cold and domineering presence in his life. He didn't like remembering his past but at times like this, it reminded him of the family that had been taken so ruthlessly from him. And it also made him long for Alex again. It felt like an age since he had seen her even though it had only been about three hours. He kept glancing hopefully towards the door until at last, he spotted a dash of blue among the crowd.

She walked with a graceful ease and a sexy swish of her hips. She greeted some people in the crowd as she passed and looked, he could hardly believe it, even more beautiful than when she had left him earlier. She was oblivious to the attention and stares she was getting from various men as she passed by. Once the assembled group noticed her arrival, there were roars of welcome as she kissed and hugged the members of the bachelor party. Some of the men picked her up and swung her around, something that made Aidan's wolf flare up in annoyance. The wolf was quietened however as soon as Alex came towards him, throwing her arms around his neck and landing another kiss on his cheek, hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms around her, delighted to feel her so close to him. Her breasts pressed into his chest and Aidan had to use all of his will power not to let his hands start wandering around her body.
He didn't know how long he held her for but however long it was, it wasn't enough. When she broke away, he had to force his hands to his sides.
'So how has your evening been?', Alex asked him, dazzling him with her smile. They sat together and Alex started by telling Aidan about her evening so far with Alice and her bachelorette party. She touched his arm as she spoke, leaning in close to his face to speak to him and hear what he was saying in return. Alex was far better at making conversation than Aidan was. He found his brain to be quite fuzzy when trying to think of a topic to introduce to their conversation. He would have happily just sat and stared at her for the rest of the night.
'I hope you are suitably impressed with the training that was provided to your warriors this week Alpha', Alex winked at Aidan and took a sip of her mojito as she waited for him to answer. Aidan smiled back at her, 'Well despite some early upheavals', they both laughed at this, 'it seems like there are one or two good take-aways.' He gave her a playful shove and they laughed again.
They were so relaxed together. Finally, it felt natural and easy. Even if it had taken a few drinks and a bachelor party to get things moving. They were interrupted by Nolan and Robbie who pulled Alex away to the dancefloor. Ronan and a few of the group were already taking over the dancefloor with some daring, and mildly dangerous looking, moves. Alex's rhythm was on point. She swayed her body, twirled and sang along to many of the songs, leading many of the group in routines they must have learned and shared on other nights out together. Robbie and Alex moved together like seasoned pro's. It was as if they could read each other minds and anticipate the next movement of the other. Aidan watched them in awe, if not, a little jealously. Aidan had to keep reminding himself that Alex and Robbie had been best friends for years. It didn't stop him from longing to know Alex as well and touch her so openly and freely.

The dancing, drinks and story telling continued to the early hours of the morning. Hank had exited the party around midnight, wanting to leave the continued celebrating and debauchery to the younger generation. Which was probably a good thing when, somewhere around 2am, Ronan was put sitting on the couch while two barely-clothed ladies were called over to give him a lap dance.
Alex took this opportunity to go outside to enjoy the cold night air, pushing open the back exit door and leaning against the cool stone wall. It was dimly lit and faced onto an empty carpark. She was having a spectacular evening by all accounts, catching up with her cousins and friends; having copious amounts of drinks, great food and dancing the night away. Not to mention how much she had been enjoying Aidan's company. She smiled as she pictured him. He was wearing a nicely fitted navy t-shirt, with the sleeves pushed up towards his elbows. It was tight but not overly so - just enough for him to look sexy as hell and make her want to put her hands underneath it. Aidan's jeans showcased a great ass and Alex smiled at the thought of giving it a good squeeze. Her perverted thoughts continued until she heard the door creak open beside her.
Alex inhaled Aidan's scent before she opened her eyes. He closed the door lightly behind him. He looked as though he was about to say something but as soon as they locked eyes, the pair pounced at each other. Alex's arms locked around Aidan's neck. One of Aidan's hands snaked around Alex's waist, pulling her tight to him while the other pushed the hair back from her face before crashing his lips to hers. The kiss was incomparable to anything either of them had felt before. Every cell of their bodies felt fully alive as if by a jolt of electricity; their skin burned as each allowed their hands to wander around the other's body. Alex fisted Aidan's t-shirt, pulling him closer to her, tilting her head back into Aidan's hand that was tangled in her hair, opening her mouth wider to allow their tongues better access to the other.
Alex could feel a huge bulge at the front of Aidan's jeans, pressing into her as he moved from her mouth to kiss down her neck. She moaned appreciatively and ran her hand up his neck, through his hair. He continued to kiss down towards her breasts before making his way back up the other side of her neck, landing back at her mouth to kiss her again.
Alex was breathless when she broke away from the kiss. She bit her lip as she looked up into Aidan's blue eyes. He touched her, now, swollen lips tenderly, a radiant smile on his handsome face.
'Wow', Alex breathed. There were no other words to describe how she felt.
Before either of them could say or do anything else, the back door banged open and Robbie and Nolan almost fell out. They were singing loudly, arms around each other, laughing uncontrollably. It took them a moment to notice Alex and Aidan.
'Oooooh, there are the lovebirds', Nolan exclaimed. The pair started thrusting their hips and making inappropriate 'bow-chicka-wow-wow' noises as they made their way over, pulling Alex into a drunken embrace to both the amusement and annoyance of Aidan.
More of the bachelor party spilled outside now and started heading for the bus that would bring them all back to the pack lands. Alex reached back and grabbed Aidan's hand as she was bustled forward by the group, dragging him along with her.

The towers fell over a century ago, and the Good King united the land. Under his voice the Thaumatists took the knee or took the sword. The University still stands, but for how long? This story is broken up into two parts. Chronologically, the two parts overlap. Part One Emile, a girl with a Talent not seen since the good king's war as she tries to find help to save her beloved father from a cruel accident. Julie, raised in a small farming village on her quest to become someone people will sing about. Part Two Wendel, a recent graduate of the University, an intense school that functions first as a police force to control the use of magic and secondly as an educational institution. Demetrius, a servant at the school who loses his home and his safety. Edits are ongoing. Reviews and comments will only help the editing the process, and I am grateful for any and all input. So, if you have been reading already, Jericho has been removed. It's been brought to my attention that his chapters detract from the flow of the narrative. They still exist, and are still going to be made available at some point in some way shape or form, but for the time being what happens with him and the king in Puissant city will be off camera so to speak.
