《Jodha's Jalal (The Mughal Saga I)》11 Facts about Jodha's Jalal

1. I had first thought of writing Jodha's Jalal back in November 2020, and I had written the first chapter then on my mobile. Then after a few days, sometime in January 2021, I decided to upload it on Wattpad. By this time, I had got a new laptop so I transferred that one chapter I wrote on the laptop and started writing the successive chapters on my laptop itself.

2. Then, mind me, this was the time when my exams were going, so I lost track of time and everything and forgot about this story until the second lockdown in April when I chose to write again to deal with my anxiety and growing depression. It helped me, a lot. And then I uploaded a few chapters. But I wasn't still okay. I was suffering, until June when I was finally given some time for the first time in a year and a half to relax. I started writing more chapters, and this was the same time when I was a baby ARMY. So, I must add that BTS helped me a lot. Their songs, messages, love yourself campaigns, all taught me how to love myself and gain confidence. I started giving more time and love to myself than ever before. This was the same time I started exercising and it has really helped me a lot.

3. Then, a few months passed and my results were announced and I was head over heels as I had scored the highest in my favourite subject making my mother and family proud, and moreover myself. This and my graduation helped me get out of the anxiety and early depression stage and made me a happier person than before. So, if you are someone who is struggling and suffering, I would ask you to take a break and look at yourself first. Where is all this getting you? One thing you all need to remember, as most of my readers are students and my age (I know), whenever you are putting too much into something, think of where it will lead you in the near future. Don't and I repeat DON'T in caps lock, ever do something just because it would make your family happy. Love them and respect them, but choose a path for yourself that you really want to.

4. All the characters have been given time and space as I considered important. Also, don't hate Jalal. He is the protagonist and thinks of things from his point as well. I know, he is misogynist at times and very complicated but that does not mean that you hate him. Love him as much as you love Jodha. Even Jodha has drawbacks. So, love them all equally.

5. Many people asked this question as to why I did not make Ruqqayah a negative character. Wanna know why? Because, unlike the popular notion that the ZeeTv drama portrays, Ruqqayah was not a villainous character. And apart from everything, before judging anyone, you should think of things from their perspective as well. I don't judge people since I came across Kim Namjoon! Oh, how beautifully has that beautiful human changed my life and perspective?

6. Maham Anga, unlike other stories, and the movies and drama has not played a major role, as I have never been quite fond of her. Also, historically she died shortly after Jodha was wed to Akbar, so she is not that important a character. She was portrayed as evil in the movie and the serial took the same plot, giving her a lot more important than history ever gave her. Anyway, I haven't given her a lot of importance so I did not feel like mentioning this, but Ruqqayah took care of her properly after the rumour thing and since Adham Khan was already killed by Akbar, she didn't survive quite long.

7. I had never planned on making Ruqqayah and Jodha friends. They wouldn't be enemies but not very fond of each other either but as the story progressed and you guys appreciated their relation, I thought of giving it a try. (Yeah, I read your comments daily. It was the one thing that kept me going.)

8. When I was writing the story on my word file, I had completed it by December 2021. I still remember because I was writing the last update on 17th December, the same day I went to the theatres for watching Spiderman: No Way Home. But, I changed the chapters in between from Jodha's abduction, and so it took a long time to complete this story.

9. I truly believe I have done justice to my story and the plot that had been in my mind for a long time now. As a kid, when I used to watch the serial, I thought on many days that the story should have been different from many perspectives. And when I grew up, I realised I could make it different and that is what I did. I am glad I came across Wattpad and you guys. My writing style and usage of words have improved so much; you guys can notice the difference if you read my first story Jodhaa Akbar and then this one right here.

10. Also, even before I had started writing this story, in the back of my mind, I always knew that it would be a great hit. But without your support, it wouldn't have been so. I especially remember certain profiles which always connected with the story and commented and voted. I love you guys and to all the future readers, I love you all too. Thank you for choosing my book, at whichever point in your life.

Until next time.

Love, Apoorva.
