Skai's POV
Today my dad's side was having a cookout and my dad asked me to come. He promised my mom wouldn't be there, which was probably because my brother was gonna be there too, so I decided to come.
I sat on my granny's couch waiting for them to finish the food.
"Wassup sis" I heard causing me to look up and smile.
"Amirrrrr" I said walking towards him, he pulled me into a hug and kissed my cheek.
We hugged for a minute until he let go and walked with me back to the couch. "I missed you" he said laying his head on my shoulder.
"I missed you too, what you been up to?" I asked.
He shrugged "I'm in school and I cut hair, what bout you?"
I nodded "I do photography now and I just started school. What you studying?"
"Architecture" he told me.
We sat there for like a hour talking until they finally said we could go eat.
"Damn they really tryna starve us" my cousin Rashawn said mugging my aunt as she tried to serve little portions. "ONLY YOU NEED TO WATCH WHAT YOU EAT" he yelled.
"Gon put another wing on there" Amir said eyeing her.
When I came up she already knew and put enough of everything on my plate.
After I got my food and drink I sat at a table with my brother and other cousins.
"Her fat ass always doing the most, acting like y'all daddy ain pay for all the food" my cousin Rylee (Rashawn's sister) said to me.
I laughed "I don't really fuck wit this side, except for yall and Uncle Ron" I said.

It's something about everyone's daddy side.
"You gotta boyfriend or anything?" Rylee asked causing Rashawn and Amir to look up and mug me.
"I do" I answered.
"Who the fuck?" Amir scrunched up his face.
"Daddy already met him Amir" I said mugging him back.
"I ain ask allat, who is he?" I huffed and pulled out my phone to show him a picture.
"Mtcht you not allowed to have no boyfriend" he told me
I laughed and took the next wing off his plate. "You stay doing that, 'member I used to tell daddy and he'd whoop both of us" Amir said mugging me.
I smiled and nodded "you shouldn't have snitched, should've got up and got more food"
We laughed about other things until my dad came over.
"Wassup y'all" he said dapping Amir & Rashawn up and kissing Rylee and I's cheek.
"How come I ain get a kiss unc?" Rashawn asked causing us all to just look at him.
I laid my head on Amir's shoulder as they talked and recorded us then posted it.
We sat there and chilled for a while until we heard yelling. Amir and my dad got up with their guns, Rashawn sat with his food.
"Boy go over there" Rylee said mugging Rashawn, he scrunched up his face.
"Uht uh they got it" he said sitting back until we heard gunshots.
He huffed then stood up "This why I only go to functions on mama side, they so ghetto" he said stomping away with his gun.
I laughed and nosily followed with Rylee behind.
"I DONT CARE ALIJAH YOU S-SHOULDVE MADE HER ABORT HIM" I saw my mom yelling with a gun in her hand.
I stood by Rylee and watched her point the gun to Amir.

"Okay Cassandra, don't blame him. That was all me, I knew I had a lady and I cheated. Put the gun down" He said watching her move the gun from Amir.
But she didn't lower it.
She turned and looked to me "O-oh so you can shack up wit that boy and come see this funky ass family but not come and apologize to me?"
She then pointed the gun at me causing my heart to start racing. "Cassandra that's your daughter" my aunt said.
"I know that and she knows that, but she doesn't treat me like her mother" she cried.
"Because you never acted like one, I always treated you with respect but y-you never were a mother" I said.
"I SACRIFICED SO MUCH FOR YOU" she screamed waving the gun.
"Ight Cassandra, put the fucking gun down. You gon hurt someone" my dad said grabbing her arm.
After that shots went off and I saw my dad hit the ground right before I did.
Shots from another gun went off then everyone started yelling.
"You're okay Aiza" Amir said looking at me with a concern filled face.
"I-it hurts Mirry, ugh I just got my hair done too" I said feeling more and more pain in my stomach.
"I know babygirl, keep your eyes open though." he said wiping his eyes.
"Is daddy okay?" I asked trying to lift myself up.
Amir looked back and more tears fell "Yea baby, lay back tho the ambulance is coming"
I nodded "Imma nap until they get here okay?"
He shook his head "Talk to me about Kareem"
I instantly smiled "Amir I love him so so much, he does so much for m-me"
I tried to keep talking but sleep was hitting me.
"No Aiza, we still talking" Amir said shaking me.
Slowly sleep started to take over my body and I heard ambulance sirens.
.............
I finished editing my clothing website when Aiza called me.
"Wassup ba-"
"This Kareem?" A dude said causing me to scrunch up my face.
"Yea who this on my girl phone?"
"Her brother Amir, aye man you need to come to Emory. She got shot"

Trashmancer
Average Chapter Length: 3,000 Words. Updates: Whenever I finish a chapter. Synopsis: Down on his luck, Eddie decided to enter the VRMMORPG Chronicles Of Fantasy with hopes of becoming a powerful monster slaying, magic slinging, princess-loving player, but a round of thieves chucked him deep into the trash pit underneath Arindought. Without hope of getting out, or making a new character, he ventures forwards through piles of trash- literally. Join our paste-eating main character, a snarky but helpful system, and more than two dimensional side characters, as they explore and deal with problems within the game. Spectacular magic? Over-sized breasts? “Onee-chan?” No, I’m sorry (Especially for the last bit). This is no drug fueled story about getting trapped in a video game with an evil AI or a cute bunny-girl harem isekai. It’s just about Eddie, his trash, and his journey in his first gaming venture. This book will be published on kindle after its completion. That means that the chapters will have to be deleted. Sweet Minds
"No one can see it, some can feel it, and only the few can use it. We belong to the few." Marith Merryfield felt anything but merry that morning. She found herself waiting for a delayed train on a deserted platform, in the freezing cold of the Dutch autumn. Just when the strangeness is making her consider turning around and going back home an empty train rolls into the station. For reasons unclear to this day she decides to get onboard. An unlikely, and quite impossible, train accident is about to hurtle her into a world she had always suspected existed. It was a dark and absurd place she had rejected and suppressed when she was young. Now she would need that dormant part of herself to survive. After a brief hospitalization she must choose between two continents and finds herself reluctantly boarding a plane to Oregon to be reunited with her shadows. She returns to the town she grew up in, which is where her father still lives and her childhood memories linger. By the end of the week the mysterious train accident turns out to be the least of her problems. Her life was never supposed to become this serious this fast. Through an improbable and unfortunate series of events she is soon introduced to a motley crew of characters that appear to be carrying the same struggles through life. They possess a familiar sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Marith realizes that for the first time in her life she has found herself a tribe, or, as they prefer to call it, a Chain. She is introduced to a world of Prophets, Runners and Mages led by an Oracle and a Watchmaker. Over the course of several weeks Marith learns that, together with her Chain, she is expected to save this fabric of reality, by fighting a mysterious and immortal creature and his aggressive pet. In order to have a chance at overcoming this force of nature she has to revisit the darkest and most desolate corners of her mind. ***** The total word count of the first 12 chapters amounts to about 85.000 words.
