《Forbidden Love (Book One)》Chapter 27

Two hours later and Roni and I were walking hand in hand as we headed off the campus. It was so normal that we were holding hands and no one would ever suspect the naughty things we just did. I looked over at Roni and she was smiling as we both walked out the campus gates. She chose to wear a simple flowered dress but threw on a cardigan to cover up her arms and she wore on a simple black pumps. Her hair was left down and was hung around her shoulders in loose tendrils. Everytime the breeze hit against it, it flew around in every which way and I couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful she really was.
She turned towards me and smiled as she noticed I was ogling her. I wanted to pull her against me and crash my lips against hers but we were in public.
"Why are you staring at me?" She asked softly and my heart started to race.
"Because you're so beautiful." I responded and she gently bumped her shoulders against mine.
"Are you gonna tell me where we're going?"
"Nope. You'll just have to wait and see." I pulled her closer to me and we unlinked hands as I wrapped her in a huge hug.
She pulled away and I flagged down a taxi. It was easier if we just took her car but we both know that the two of us alone, in a combined space, was a bad idea. I opened the door and allowed her to go in first before I hopped in.
"East Central Park." I said to the driver as he pulled off.
Roni braced her head against my chest and I draped an arm around her. She looked up at me and smiled and I couldn't stop the wink.
"Are you kids together?" The middle aged man asked and I looked up to see him glance at us from his rear view mirror.

My first instinct was to pull away and deny everything but then I really didn't give a craps ass. If he wanted to lecture us about the gays and what not that's his peace, this was a country of free speech. If he wanted to throw us out of his cab then, screw him.
"Yes, yes we are." Roni answered and I turned my surprised face to look at her.
My heart swelled twice its size as she smiled up at me and I immediately captured her mouth with mine. The cab driver was instantly forgotten, our destination wasn't even a part of the equation and the fact that any passerby could see us didn't even faze me.
Roni pulled away, the smile still on her face, and whispered to me.
"Mmhmm, I can taste myself."
I laughed as I remembered I didn't brush my teeth after her wake up call.
"I know."
"So I take that as a yes?" The man continued and I realized we had forgotten his existence. "There's no way two girls can be that affectionate to each other without being involved."
"Yeah, we're together..." I said and waited for the hurtful comments.
"Cool."
"Wait, that's it?"
"Yup. What else am I supposed to say?"
"Nothing, it's just that people in this country aren't that accepting."
"Yeah but I'm not people, I'm me and I'm not a judge, I'm a cabby."
We all laughed as the man pulled up at our destination and when I took out the money to pay him he stopped me.
"No, the ride is free. I just wanted you to know that the world is different now... And I'm just glad that you guys found love."
"Thank you." Roni said and the man nodded before he pulled off.
Roni turned to me and wrapped her hands around my neck. "Awe babe, he was so nice."

"Yeah he was." I said as I wrapped my arms around her waist, bringing her closer to me.
"So... Are you gonna tell me where we're headed?"
"You'll see." I grabbed her hand and started walking further into the park.
It was a beautiful Saturday morning and the sky was amazingly blue with not a single cloud in sight. The park was scarce besides the few dog walkers and couples. I continued walking until we crossed over the famous kissing bridge and I made a mental note to kiss her there when we walked back. I just hoped that everything was already set up. We continued walking; crossing over trunks, under trees, across bridges and alongside lakes until we reached a spot at the near back of the park.
It was a spot that I had discovered last year when Brian and I were dating. He was the only person that I had showed the spot to. It was in a secluded spot yet it was surrounded by beautiful trees that were huge with dozens of low hanging branches. Each tree had different types and colors of flowers and it just gave the scenery and very indescribable aura.
I smiled when I saw that everything was set and it came as no surprise when Roni stopped walking. I had called Brian this morning and asked him if he would do me a favor, of course he had said yes and well, I couldn't say I was disappointed.
There was a huge blanket that spread across the grass facing the lake and with the way the sun was shining on everything it just looked as though it came out of a well scripted movie. Two huge picnic baskets were sitting in the center with a basin of slowly melting dry ice and a bottle of champagne. The entire setup was covered with the various colored flowers from the trees, which was yellow, red, pink and white, and the all continued to mark a trail, stopping at our feet.
I turned to see Roni with her hands on her face as she failed to stop the tears. I, myself was feeling teary but I refused to cry now. I just had to remember to let Brian feel my boob or something, later on. I smiled at Roni and she jumped into my arms as she wrapped her hands around my neck. I laughed at the unexpectedness and stepped back as I readjusted her weight in my hands. She buried her head in my neck as she struggled to talk through her tears.
"You did this for me?" She whispered and I nodded, afraid my voice would crack.
"How?... When?"
I released her and she reluctantly slid to her feet as I led her onto the blanket. We both sat down and she positioned herself between me. I wrapped my hands around her and she leaned into my embrace.
"Well, this morning after our lovemaking and after you had fallen to sleep, I called Brian and told him I wanted to do something nice for you. I decided that a nice little picnic would be awesome and he agreed to help me put together this. When you went to shower I confirmed it and, wahla." I kissed her neck and was delighted by her shiver.
Turning around so she can face me, Roni got on her knees and pulled me into a heated kiss. I knew that she was impressed with everything by the way she kissed me and she broke the kiss to stare at me. Holding my face in her hand, she started to caress my cheeks without breaking eye contact.
"I love you beyond belief." She says and I hold my breath for some unforeseen reason.
"I love you." I respond.
