It had almost completely slipped from Saiki's mind that his family was going on a trip for a week. They would be spending time with his mother's parents. As much as he loved his family, he would much rather not need to catch up on work. That, and he expected several messages to be sent to his phone as soon as his presences was noticed missing.

'What an idiot.'
It went on like this for a few days. Asher would spend most of his time with the gang, think of Saiki, pull out his phone and send him random messages. It would probably become a bad habit, but he didn't care enough to stop.
At the moment, it was the fourth day of Saiki being away from school. It was midday, the time for lunch. Asher, Kaidou, Nendo, and Kuboyasu had pushed a few tables together so they could sit in the classroom and eat lunch.
"Ugh.." the brunette groaned, "I miss Saiki..." He poked at his food, uninterested in eating. It wasn't anything too appealing, anyways, consisting of leftovers from dinner.
"Hm? What about our pal?" Nendo questioned.
Asher shook his head. "Nothin'. Anyways, do you guys wanna come over to my house today? Saiki helped me unpack, and I've been feeling bored as hell recently."
"Ohh, sorry, Asher. My dad's got some work for me to do today," Kuboyasu apologized.
"I've also got stuff to do!"
'What could you have planned, Nendo?'
The brunette sighed. "Yeah, whatever. It's fine."
'He looks so sad! I can't refuse him..!'
"I'm not busy, Asher-kun! I'll come over."

"You sure?" Kaidou had nodded his head. "Alright... just stop with the honorifics, please."
"Okay..."
• ——— •
"I'm home," the brunette muttered while kicking off his shoes. He walked inside, shutting the door behind Kaido. "My mom's not here, so get comfortable."
"Alright." Kaidou walked into the living room, placing his book bag aside before relaxing on the couch. After a few passing minutes, Asher came in with a few snacks, sprawling them onto the coffee table before sitting down beside his friend.
"Anything you're interested in watching, Kai?"
"Huh? 'Kai'?"
"Oh, my bad. Just thought it would be easier, but I can—"
"No, no! It's fine." Kaidou had a soft blush on his cheeks, clearing his throat to hide his embarrassment. "Kai is fine with me..."
"Mhm... well, movie?"
"I'm fine with anything."
'Thank you so much for your help, Kaidou.' Asher mentally rolled his eyes.
"Well, I've been interested in some action movies from America. I think you'll like them.' He changed the tv so it was on 'Spider-Man.' "You're gonna have to read the subtitles, but it's worth it."
"If you say so."
Time flew over their heads as they were engrossed in the television screen. Before they knew it, the end credits were rolling on the screen, and the lighting in the room was dim.
"Damn. That movie never gets old," Asher grinned in satisfaction.
Kaidou nodded. "Yeah, that was really cool! He looked almost as strong as me– and the way he would fly through the air like that... So cool."
'Ahh, he's cute.'
"Yeah, Spiderman is my favorite hero."
"Mine too..." The smaller boy yawned. It seemed like sitting for so long drained his energy.
Asher got up from the couch to give Kaidou space. "Go ahead and take a nap. I'm gonna make dinner in the meantime."
"I should probably go home, though—"
"You're good. Relax. I'll wake you up when I'm done, then we can eat and get you home."
'"We?" I can get home by myself, though.'
As if Asher read Kaidou's mind, he sighed. "I won't force you. But I don't mind you staying longer."
"Hmm.... alright.. Thank you."
The bigger male hummed, letting his friend get comfortable on the couch. It was as if he were exhausted. Kaidou had fallen asleep almost directly after his head touch the cushion.

Asher pulled out his phone, checking his messages. He wanted to text Saiki before he began cooking. The brunette was almost proud of himself for going so long without even thinking of messaging the pinkette.
'I haven't messaged him all day. I almost forgot.'

——
Asher let out a long sigh has he placed his phone on the counter. A small smile lingered on his face because of their conversation. He hadn't even noticed it was there, nor when it got there.
'What a funny guy.' The brunette washed his hands. 'I've got a few hours before my mom gets home... lets cook, eat, and leave a portion for her. Then I'll take him home.'
• ——— •
Asher had planned on making something simple. An easy dish that he wouldn't sweat much while making. He thought making homemade ramen was easy. But, boy, oh, boy was he wrong. It had taken him almost two hours to finish the meal.
'Not perfect, but definetly house husband material,' he smirked proudly. He pulled out his phone to snap a picture of it, wanting to send it to Saiki. Whether it were to brag or to receive praise, he didn't know.

——
He went to wake up Kaidou after staring at his phone for a passing minute. Asher had hoped for an immediate response, but it looked like Saiki was busy. Such a shame.
"Kai, the food's done," the brunette spoke softly. It almost didn't sound like him, especially to someone who was in a daze.
"M.. mom...?"
"No, dimwit, it's Asher. You're still at my house."
"Oh." Kaidou's cheeks flared, rubbing the sleepiness out of his eyes. "Sorry."
"It's fine. C'mon, lets eat."
They sat around the dining room table to eat. Asher had already set the table for them. Bowls of ramen, as well as a pair of forks, chopsticks, and renges for them both. Although Asher's family was more used to American customs, the brunette's mother liked to keep her Japanese genes running through the family.
'This is unexpected,' Kaidou looked around the table as he sat down. 'It's so much neater than I thought it would be.'
The two of them grubbed on their food. There were sparkles and flowers flying around Kaidou as he ate, clearly enjoying his meal. However, it was the complete opposite. It looked as if he was going to puke at any minute.
"Dammit... this is worse than I thought. Sorry, I've never made homemade ramen before."
"What!?" Kaidou was shocked to hear it was homemade. It tasted as good as something you'd buy in a restaurant. "It's really good! Seriously, I've never had ramen as good as this before."
The bigger male shrugged. "Eh. I guess it's alright... I could've done better on the eggs and broth, though. And the texture of the noodles are a bit weird."
'You just named everything in the bowl.'
After their meal, Asher helped Kaidou gather his things to head home. They were rushing a bit, seeing as it was much later than the blue haired boy had thought it was. He wasn't supposed to stay out so late, especially without confirming with his mother. The older woman had a lot to say to both Kaido and Asher when they got to the front door of the house.
Asher took the blame, and gave the lady a piece of his mind, respectfully, before dismissing himself from the conversation. Arguing with old people was bad, but he hated how high and mighty they always tended to be. It was annoying.
Dismissing that terrible meeting, he went home and got ready for bed. He ended up being much more tired than he expected to be, so he left the dishes for tomorrow. Though, his mother would most likely wash them, which he felt a little bad about. It was too late, though, since he was already snuggled in bed with his night clothes on.
He grabbed his phone for the last time tonight so he could check his messages with Saiki.

——
Unaware of the small smile on his lips, Asher dozed off with his phone in the soft grip of his hand. On the other side, Saiki gazed at his own screen with a face conflicted of cheeriness and annoyance. At one time, he hated being social with Asher (or anyone, in the matter.)
But he also had some sort of amusement while being around him. He couldn't help but feel a small chuckle rise within his chest whenever Asher did something stupid. It was abnormal, and Saiki didn't like the change.
'What is wrong with me?'

Under a Boundless Sky
If you were to ask someone what they thought of Revian Snow, they would say that she's small. Cute too. Doesn't talk much. Average grades, and hard to find in a crowd, though you'd think that someone with her looks would be more noticeable. She also plays the popular VRMMO's for some reason, but doesn't like to interact with others too much, even online. In short, she doesn't stand out too much. She likes it that way—After all, it's much easier to keep a secret when nobody's looking for one. If you enjoy my work, please consider supporting me on Patreon.
