《Love Revealed By Fear》Last Chance

Hey! So, I'm trying to follow the story line a little bit, so some of the story continues in the background without you really hearing it. DA exists and Harry's detentions with Umbridge. Stuff like that. So, now that you know, have fun.

------------------ooOoWoOoo---------------------
A week had past and Harry felt more stressed than ever. Hagrid still wasn’t back plus the detentions with Umbrigde and the fact that he hadn’t got to play Quidditch in such a long time was awful. He wanted more than anything to write a letter to Sirius, but Hermione thought of it as a bad idea. But when he woke up early a Sunday morning, he couldn’t help but to sneak up and sit down in the common room and write the letter. He was sure than no one could read anything suspicious out of it. He ignored the stinging pain on his hand where the words “I must not tell lies” was now standing clear and red, while walking down the halls towards the Owlery. He was sure it was going to leave scares. His hate towards the toad like teacher burned hot in his stomach.
The sun was high on the sky now and when Harry entered the Owlery the glassless windows dazzled his eyes. It took him a second before he realized that he was not alone up there. A Pale, skinny, boy was standing at one of the widows, tying a letter to a golden owl´s out stretched leg. Harry considered for a moment to just turn around and leave, but then decided against it. He couldn’t run every time he ran into the other boy. He looked up at all the sleepy owls, searching for white feathers among all the brown and golden ones. “Hedwig” he called when he spotted her.
She looked down at him, spread her wings and flew down to sit on his arm, gently nipping at his hair. “Good morning” he mumbled and stroke her smooth feathers.
Draco had turned towards him, when he had heard his voice. Harry tried to ignore him, tying his letter to Hedwigs leg. She was out the window as soon as he was done, eager to fulfill her task. Draco still hadn’t moved. He stood silently at the window, looking paler and more skinny than usual. Harry furrowed his brows. “Hey” he said awkwardly.
“Potter” Draco said back, the usual sassy tone, missing from his voice.
Harry coughed uncomfortable. “Sorry I snapped the last time we spoke. I just have a hard time figuring out if you´re there to taunt me or not”.
Draco looked down. “Me too actually”.
Harry sighed. Why did it have to be like this? Sometimes Draco was a cruel bully and other days he was like this. Sweet and almost shy. “Congratulations with the whole prefect thing. I´m surprised” Harry said, taking a step closer to the boy.
Draco looked confused up at him. “About what? That I got the title?”

“No, that I haven’t seen you abuse your new power yet” Harry said with a small smile.
Draco made a sound which almost could have been heard as a chuckle. “You just wait”.
Harry didn’t know if it was a joke or not. “I know that you know where Sirius Black is” Draco suddenly said.
Harry´s breath got caught in his throat. “I don´t know what you´re talking about”.
“The big dog you had with you when you arrived at the station in September” Draco said with a knowing smirk.
Harry looked carefully at the boy. Where did Draco want with this? “Why are you protecting him? He´s dangerous” Draco asked confused.
“So you´re worried about me now?” Harry asked, trying to change the subject.
“Simply just trying to figure out which side your on” Draco shot back.
“Sirius has never been on Voldemorts side” Harry said, before thinking about it.
He bit his lips, irritated at himself. Did he just admit that he knew where Sirius was? But Draco seemed more focused on the fact that Harry had just said Voldemorts name. He almost jumped in the air and his pale skin got even paler. “Afraid to hear your fathers leaders name?” Harry sneered, even though he knew it was a low blow.
Draco looked angrily at him. “You´re just as crazy as the papers says you are”.
Before Draco could even move, Harry had pulled out his wand, shakingly pointing it at the other boys face. “Shut up!”
Draco´s brows were furrowed, his eyes not resting on the wand, but on the hand Harry held it with. “What´s that?”
Harry cursed himself, quickly hiding the hand back down in his pocket, hissing slightly when the wounds got contact to the jeans. “Nothing”.
Draco took a few steps and stopped in front of him firmly pulling his hand back up. His eyes got wide, looking at the words. Harry pulled his hand back and hid it again. “No clever comeback?” he asked tiredly.
Draco looked up at him with terror in his eyes. The same kind of terror Harry had seen in his eyes, years ago, when he stood in front of the Boggart. “Who did that?” he whispered.
“It doesn’t matter”.
“Harry-“
“Oh, so we´re back on first names huh?” Harry said annoyed.
Draco´s jaw tensed. “I´m trying, you know”.
“To what?”
“To be kinder” Draco said frustrated.
“But you´re doing it wrong. You can´t just be kind one day and then not the next”.
“I feel like we have had this conversation before” Draco mumbled irritated.
Harry nodded. “But you don’t seem to learn”.
“Thanks” Draco said ironically.
Harry chuckled. “It´s Umbrigde, isn’t it?” Draco asked silently looking down at Harrys hidden hand- “I know that you have had detention with her”.
Harry´s face immediately fell. “Fine, you don’t have to tell me. I´m not your friend, but promise me you tell Weasley or Granger” Draco asked, not being able to look Harry in the eyes.

“I wish you were my friend”.
Draco looked surprised back up at him. “Me too” he mumbled.
“I have a hard time believing that” Harry confessed, with a little smile.
“My father has asked Snape to keep an eye on me”.
Harry looked confused at that. “And what so?”
“If he hears that I become friends with you, he will… not be happy” Draco trailed of, again looking down at his shoes.
“Screw him”.
“You don’t get it. You don’t know him” Draco said, his voice high pitchy.
“You´re right. I´m sorry” Harry mumbled.
They were both silent for a moment. “Okay, lets make a deal then” Harry suddenly said.
He looked resolute. “What kind of deal?”
“We meet again, after dinner tomorrow, down where we found the mirror” Harry explained.
“To do what?” Draco asked confused.
“To talk”.
“Talk about what?” Draco asked suspiciously.
“Just talking, because we want to be friends. Then Snape wont know” Harry said.
Draco nodded. “But if you bully me or any of my friends I won´t come and if you for some reason don’t feel like it and you don’t come, then it´s over. I can’t continue this. Not knowing if we ever will become anything or not” Harry continued.
Draco nodded, small butterflies in his stomach. He tried to ignore them. “Fine”.
Harry felt really relieved. Maybe, this time, it would work. “Okay then” he said.
He really felt like leaning in, but he didn’t. Maybe tomorrow. He blushed at the thought. “No awkward silences please. Just go” Draco said with a little smile.
Harry chuckled. “Fine. I hope I see you tomorrow” he said and then turned to leave.
Draco looked at him leave his mind in fight with itself. He could clearly hear his father’s voice yelling at him to not meet with him, but there was this other voice too. A voice which sang loudly and happily in his head and almost drowned out the other.
“Have your toast told a joke or something?” Pansy asked irritated.
Draco tore himself out of his thoughts and looked up at her. She sat on the other side of the table in the Great Hall, her arms crossed. “You seem more interested in your food than in me” she complained.
“That´s because he is” Blaise said with a smirk.
Pansy death glared him. “I was just thinking” Draco said and rolled his eyes.
It wasn’t a lie really. He had about one hour to figure out if he wanted to meet Harry or not. He couldn’t help but to glance over at the Gryffindor table, where the golden trio was seated. Granger with her head in a book, meanwhile Weasley was talking Harry´s ears off. Harry himself looked quite distracted as well. Maybe he was having second thoughts of showing up as well. “Have you?”
Draco quickly looked over at Blaise who looked impatiently at him. “Have I what?”
Blaise sighed. “Heard that Sirius Black has been spotted in London. Do you think he´s back with the Dark Lord?”
“Keep your voice down” Draco hissed.
“Why?”
“Well, because it´s a secret that he´s back remember” Draco said irritated, ignoring the goosebumps erecting on him by the thought of “You Know Who”.
He looked back down at his food. He was tired of this. Feeling scared. He carefully looked back up at Harry. He would do it. He defiantly would do it. He wanted to be closer to the other boy. He wanted to feel happy and safe as long as he could. Ignoring his father screaming voice in his head, he stood up. “I´ll see you later” he said nervously.
“You´re not coming with us to the library?” Pansy asked disappointed.
“Don’t worry, you will still have Crabbe and Goyle” Draco said with a smirk and left before she could question him further.
“Where are you going?”
Harry looked at Ron and Hermione who sat in their favorite chairs by the fire in Gryffindors common room. Hermione was correcting Rons assignment to Mcgonagall meanwhile Ron was fiddling with his sleeve, looking sleepy.
“Just to the library” he lied, looking as innocent as possibly.
Ron sighed. “I´m coming with you. I need to borrow a book to Flitwick´s class tomorrow”.
“Well, no, actually” Harry quickly said- “I´m need to talk with… Luna”.
Both Ron and Hermione looked suspiciously at him. “Lovegood? Why?” Hermione asked.
“You know, just to ask her something about, the Quibbler magazine” Harry said, knowing that it was an awful excuse.
“You know that it´s an stupid magazine with no real facts right” Hermione said, looking irritated at the very thought of the magazine.
Harry nodded. “Mmh, yes, right”.
Ron sat back down. “No matter how much fun Luna is, I think I will be staying here”.
Harry nodded, relieved. He quickly walked out of the common room and began his way down the many corridors and hallways, hoping to not run into Filch, Snape or a certain Poltergeist. The longer down in the castle he got the colder it got and the faster his heart beat. What if Draco wasn’t there? Or what if he was? What would happen then? Harry bit his lip thinking about the tall lean boy, with the blond hair and white skin. He began to sweat nervously. He was almost there. He stopped when he reached the old wooden door. He took a deep breath. He could still turn around. Walk away and pretend that this never happened. But there wasn’t one single fiber in him that wanted that, so he slowly opened the door.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.

A Friendly Voidling
When a Creature of the Void fails to find friendship among her own kind, she instead sets her sights upon another, human-filled world. Unfortunately, humans turn out to be rather small and squishy things, resulting in a mostly accidental trail of death, destruction and madness as she embarks on her journey to finally make some friends. This is a 25k word inane short story, and makes no attempt at being serious or realistic. It's my first attempt at trying a more comedic writing style. No relation to my other stories, aside from a brief cameo. Cover bodged together with Charat Genesis. Not quite the design I had in mind, but reasonably close. Doesn't contain explicit smut, but does contain references to stuff happening off-screen. May contain traces of gore. Also eels, in varying states of distress. Posted here and scribblehub.

Rory Richardson: If He Had Lived.
Join Rory on what could have been. Taken tragically from life by sudden infant death syndrome. Join in the reimagining of what his life could have been... With a system forced reset of human civilisation thrown in for good measure. One minute Rory was a college student struggling under pressure, the next he and the entire world find themselves at the mercy of the System. Its sick sense of humour results in Rory and hundreds of others going through the tutorial from hell. Monsters straight out of myth become reality, forcing Rory and the unlucky group to fight if they are to have any chance of survival. Those that overcome the tutorial will be thrust into a totally alien world, where might and magic rule and where humanity is far from the top of the food chain. Join Rory as he comes to grips with his new reality, developing new powers and gaining friends and foes alike. This is my first attempt at writing a story of any kind and is dedicated to Rory who died from SIDS at a far too young an age. This story will contain great adventures, epic battles, good friends and foes alike. I am aiming to create a world that will, in some small measure, hopefully keep his memory alive.
