《Shades Of Red | RaNnett》Part 5: Ember in the Thunderstorm

-A few days after the last part-
Sitting in the Knights of Favonius' library, Razor tries to complete his homework about colors. He'd forgotten about it and Lisa was pressuring him, so he sat on a chair and tried to search through his head, looking for anything that was red. He stared at his paper and passed it up to his mentor that sat at the librarian's counter.
"Good job, sweetie," she said with a sweet smile, "I'm sorry for pressuring you so much these few days, it's just that you've seemed very distracted about something." Razor just stared for a few seconds, "Ri- right. Can... Razor leave now?" "Of course, sweetie. And I see that you've been taking my lessons to heart too." Razor nodded and took his leave as Lisa checked the paper that Razor turned in and wrote down her remarks.
'You care about that adventurer a lot, don't you? But I haven't seen him visit him recently. Do you think that it's your fault that he's in the cathedral?'
"Today's the day!" I said as I stretched my arms, "I finally get to leave this place." "With crutches that is," Barbara appeared behind me, "Be careful next time, alright?" "Yeah, yeah, I know. I'll be careful."
Right as I stepped outside, *tik* *tik* *tik*, "ugh, it's raining, just my luck." I continued walking, really slowly, it was a wet floor and I had crutches, not very easy to balance is it? Plus the lighting striking might scare me when I'm not expecting it to. If only someone was with me to maybe hold an umbrella(Wait, do they have umbrellas in Teyvat?) or help me walk, like Barbara, my dads, one of the sisters, Razor... wait- out of all my friends why did I think of him.

There I was, in the middle of town, and the thunderstorm wasn't too kind either, it was so hard to walk around, now I really wish someone was with me. "Well, at least, my vision keeps me from getting a co- ACHOO" 'Welp, I jinxed it.'
"I knew I should've brought an umbrella or at least a coat, now I gotta deal with this cold. My luck is just the worst, maybe... that's why Razor's avoiding me... One by one... they all learn about my luck... then... they leave... *sob* they all leave eventually *sob* why did I not expect this? It's happened so many times *sob* yet it still hurts *sob* why archons, what did I do to deserve this kind of luck"
I cried, but only partially because of my bad luck, mostly because of Razor, it became clear to me he wasn't just a friend, much more than that, but... did I really want to go that far? More importantly, could I bring myself to go that far if I wanted to? I don't have the willpower, plus my bad luck would ruin everything even if I tried. Best not to.
"Bennett?" And speaking of the devil, Razor's here. He was holding an umbrella, standing across the street. We locked eyes for a solid moment, and he walked toward me slowly. My heartbeat accelerated with every step he took, the water splashed as his feet hit the ground. If only time went slower, I could enjoy that moment for longer.
When he came up to me, he wrapped his arms around me in a hug. "Razor is sorry," he spoke, "Razor made Bennett fall, Razor didn't find Bennett, Razor didn't visit Bennett, Razor-" "It's alright, I'm fine now." A tear escaped his eyes and he started to cry, I put my hand on his head, patting it like a pup, appreciating his soft grey fur-like hair, "I said it's alright, no need to apologize. As long as you're still my friend."

My mind couldn't stop telling me to tell him my true feelings, but it was a beautiful moment that I couldn't afford to ruin, so I kept it in.
We spent a few minutes in the rain, but it felt like forever, a forever that my bad luck didn't exist. Our visions glowed bright, as the sky darkened further. We both caught a cold, we both slept in my room, and we shared our stories from the days we were apart.
The luckiest day I ever had, and it was with my crush, what more could I ask for?

A/N
A Bennett-focused chapter, as you should be able to tell from most of it is his POV. I tried to put in sad, happy, sweet moments in one chapter, idk if it works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think it's because I'm the one who wrote it so I like it more, I'm biased :/
Also, I won't be writing for a while bc busy soooo umm this isn't gonna be updated for a while :c

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Dwarf While Trapped in a Dungeon Full of Spiders
Thousands of years ago, mankind would honor their dead and their journey to the afterlife through the process of mummification. The elaborate tombs and burial rituals marked our transition from hunter-gatherers to civilizations and empires. However, it's been over 500 years since we've sent tributes to the underworld, and now the underworld, or whatever lies beyond, has decided to send something back. Authors Note- This story is inspired by DnD, Dark Souls, Guild Wars 1, and my love of eldritch horror and dark creepy dungeons. Also completed doesn't mean end of the line. There is more Mike Sammons in the future, promise.
