《Written in Bones [ Jurassic World]》Teasing Fun

Lily fell onto her bed after a long day of working at the small enclosure preparing it for the two dinosaurs that would have to call it home for the rest of their lives.
Between the faulty gates, hazardous plants and invasive inhabitants all she wanted to do was lie there with her face down in the pillow. She grabbed Steggy and let out a yawn. Owen offered to grab some dinner for them from Main street leaving her at her home to rest. Jennifer walked in and plopped down beside her.
"Tired?"
"Actually trying to contain myself from running laps around the house." she said with another yawn.
"Definitely looks like it."
Lily made a face before lying on her back. "What did you do today?" she asked Jennifer.
"Well," Jennifer grinned. Lily sat up.
"What? What's that smile for?"
"Lowery invited me over to his place to hang out!" she said before the two squealed.
"Really? What are you guys going to do?"
"Well, the Avengers comes on tonight he told me, so I guess we're watching that."
"Isn't it just going to be in Spanish?"
"Yes."
"But neither of you speak Spanish." Lily pointed out.
"Who cares! He invited me to hang out."
"Okay, yes , you're right. Hey more chance for less movie watching and more.." she made kissing noises at Jennifer who jumped back.
"Stop! No...no...do you think that's why he invited me over?"
"Christ, Jennifer, I don't know. Only Lowery knows the reason he invited you over."
Jennifer sighed. "I'm nervous." she admitted.
"I couldn't tell."
Jennifer hit her with her pillow.
"Relax, will you? You'll be fine. Watch the Avengers and maybe Lowery will show you his hulk."

Jennifer's face drained all colour before she glared at Lily. "Don't-"
"Or maybe he'll be Hawkeye and make you quiver.." Lily was enjoying Jennifer's rage faces.
"Thor's hammer isn't-" Jennifer held the pillow down on her.
"Shut up Goodwin!"
Owen walked in. "Uh, is this a bad time ladies?" he asked holding a bag of food.
"No, I was just leaving." Jennifer said rising to her feet and walking out.
Lily removed the pillow from her face.
"What did you say to her?" Owen asked sitting down.
"I was just messing with her, she's hanging out with Lowery tonight watching the Avengers on T.V."
"But it's going to be in Spanish and I know Cruthers doesn't speak a word of Spanish."
Lily shrugged.
"Oh well," he said sitting back on her bed, "I'm more of a Guardians of the Galaxy fan myself."
"I bet you are."
After eating some dinner, the two were lying back on Lily's bed talking about all sorts of topics , they were currently discussing embarrassing childhood stories.
"I got kicked out of school once." she admitted.
"You? Got kicked out of school? " Owen scoffed.
"I did!" she said defensively. "Just for the day."
"For what? Correcting the teacher too many times."
"No..." she said. "I was about seven years old and we had to do Show and Tell. So, naturally, I brought along Steggy to show him off. Well, I'm telling them all I know about Stegosaurus', showing off Steggy's spikes and all his badassery.'
Owen snorted.
"Then this little twit, George Vincent-"
"Wow, he must have really pissed you off to remember his name after all this time."
"I also was in school with him for many years afterwards." she said. "Anyways, he opens his big mouth and starts telling me how stupid Steggy is."

"Did you sick Steggy on him?"
"No, I punched him in the face." she told him.
"You didn't!"
"I did! I swear. I was sent to the headmistress and they called my dad. Dad came in and they told him all about it. He told me to collect my things and we were heading home."
"Yikes, grounded?"
"We went out and got ice cream."
Owen held Lily in his arms that evening as she drifted off to sleep. They had moved from her room to the sofa to watch some television. They settled for a cartoon channel and after several minutes, Lily was out like a light. He felt his eyes growing heavy as well as his fingers trailed through her soft hair. She nestled further into him as he was falling asleep himself.
The two were startled awake by a car door slam outside and then the house door opening with Jennifer coming in. She looked over to see Lily and Owen attempting to wake up.
"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you guys." she apologized.
"It's alright." Owen said.
"What's wrong?" Lily asked sitting up.
"Tonight...did not go as we figured."
"Oh no Jennifer...what happened?"
"Well, I get there and...it's not just Lowery and I...it's Lowery, Vivian, Todd and a few other workers."
"Oh." Lily grimaced. Owen looked back and forth between the women.
"Wait, you like Lowery?!" Owen asked.
Jennifer ignored him plopping into an arm chair. "It was awful. We hardly spoke. I didn't understand anything of what the avengers were saying so it wasn't funny."
Lily climbed over Owen before walking over to her roommate and hugging her tightly.
"It's alright Jennifer. I'll download the Avengers on my computer and we can watch it in English."
Jennifer rolled her eyes with a laugh.
"Or we could watch-"
"Calm down Groot. Avengers, not Guardians of the Galaxy."
Jennifer seemed to be in better spirits by the end of the night before she bid them goodnight and left to her room.
Lily yawned along with Owen.
"I should probably head home." he said to her. He saw her pout slightly.
"Do you have to?" she asked.
"Miss Goodwin, are you asking me to stay the night?" he said dramatically holding a hand to his mouth.
She giggled. "You don't have to, but it would be nice." she gave him a smile.
He chuckled taking a step towards her. "Okay, I'll stay."
"Ya-"
"On one condition."
"I should have known that was too easy." she muttered. "What is your condition?"
"You playfully refer to me as Starlord, not Groot."
She snorted before walking away to her room.
"We can agree to that, right?"
He received no response.
"Goodwin? Goodwin!"

Incursions
This blurb concerns Incursions book 1: Incarceration. If you could buy superhuman abilities, but they might kill you—or worse—would you do it? Ten years ago, in a world not so different from our own, people with powerful abilities appeared. The new powers were dangerous, dangerous to acquire—dangerous to have—dangerous to wield. World governments raced to find and eradicate the abilities and those who possess them while using the media to rule by fear. Whereas corporations sought to exploit the abilities for profit. Raz Owens was living the dream - a rising star at a job he enjoys, a girlfriend he loves, but it all comes crashing down when Raz disregards his late father's advice. He is pulled into a chaotic underworld of clandestine labs, shadow organizations, and super-powered criminals. Used as a human test subject in a place where few survive the day, he must last long enough to escape. His only advantage? A power that seems nearly useless—a heads-up display. Contains: monsters, violence, death, dismemberment, gamelit, superpowers, superpower consequences, good guys, bad guys, good guys who might be bad guys, bad guys who think they are good guys, good guys that might go bad, bad guys that might turn good, guns for hire, competence, incompetence, continence, incontinence, conspiracies, and some of what I just said wasn't true. This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.
