Narrator's POV
The ebon being had been acting strange lately. He would eat more then before. He'd have random mood swings, and throw up constantly.
His green lover was really worried about his partner's health, so he took him to the doctor for a check up. Later after several painful tests and long examinations, the results arrived within 3 weeks.
The emerald being's jaw dropped as he looked at the results that were freshly taken out of their envelope. Ebony looked up at him in worriedness. He was biting down on one of his knuckles with his ears glued to his head. "Are they bad? Am I going to die? Tell me, I'm gonna die?!" He said pulling his jacket's collar over his muzzle.
"Calm down Shadow. They're not bad, I don't know wether you'll like them or not. It's a lot to take in-Hey!" Emerald screeched as Ebony took the papers. Ebony scanned the papers, but put them down and froze. "Shadow?"
"I'm... I'm..." He turned to his green lover. "Pregnant..." Ebony whispered.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm pregnant!" Smiled Ebony. "I'm pregnant!" He threw the papers in the air and jumped on his lover. "I'm gonna be a Daddy! I'm gonna be a Daddy!" Cheered Ebony.
"Whoa Shadow. Calm down." Smiled Emerald. "You took this surprisingly well."
"You're gonna be a Dad." Shadow whispered. Then his eyes widen. "Wait!" He jumped off his lover's arms. "We gotta buy baby stuff. Diapers, bottles, we also have to think about baby names! Ah! And a room! We also have make it safe! What if he doesn't like me! Then what-"
"Baby, Baby... Calm doooown." Scourge cooed. Shadow let out a long sigh. "Don't worry about it now. You don't even have a bump yet." Scourge touched his lover's belly.
"You're right. Not now..." Smiled Ebony.

Scourge's POV
A few weeks later, Shadow had been having random mood swing a lot. The ones I thought were adorable are when he was worried or scared, my favorite out of all of them was when he was really shy or bashful; but that was rare. I don't blame him, this is his first week pregnant. You couldn't notice his tiny bump.

Right now we were headed to have picnic at the park. Blue had invited us over, and Shadow was overjoyed to go.
Shadow held my hand in his with our fingers intertwined as we walked up Green Hill. He decided to start wearing a red sweater. The sleeves were too long for his arms, so they hid his hands.
"Wait Scourge. What if they don't accept us?" He asked.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure they will, and if they don't...it's their loss." I answered. He held my hand tightly. We reached the top of Green Hill, and everyone was there.
Charmy, Cream and Tails were running around. Amy and Rouge were talking, and Silver and Knuckles were arm wrestling. Well, Silver was using his telekinesis, cheater. Espio was meditating, and Vector was listening to music. Sonic came up to us.
"Hey guys!" Shadow wrapped his arms tightly around me and shoved his face in my chest. He had been frightened by Blue's loud voice. "Come on, we're about to start the picnic." He pointed at the red and white quilt on the green grass. He turned his back us and walked to the group.
"See?" I asked Shadow. He came out of his hiding spot. He still held my arm as we walked closer to the group.
"Hi guys!" Amy smiled. Shadow was easily frightened by her high pitched voice. He jumped into my arms and hid his face in my chest again.
"Aw, isn't he just a treat?" Asked Rouge. "It's okay, honey. We won't hurt you."
"See Shadow? It's okay, they're not going to hurt you...or the baby." I whispered the last part, no body knew about the baby yet. He slowly came out of his hiding place.
"Hi sweetie. How you been?" Asked Rouge.
"Okay..." He whispered. "EEK!" He yelped as he jumped up a bit.
"Oops. My bad." I heard Silver's voice. Shadow looked back at him. "Sorry Shadz. I was just trying to tickle you." Silver rubbed the back of his head.

"That's okay." Shadow said smiling and blushed.
"How's it been?" He asked.
"It's been good." Silver answered. I went over to Shadow's side, looking more dominant. Silver changed his expression into one that seemed nervous. "Hey Scourge..."
"Hey Pot-Leaf." I responded.
His cheeks reddened. "I thought you said you'd quit calling me that!" He stomped him foot and walked off. I chuckled.
Silver's POV
When my aurora touched Shadow's body, it send body signals to me, not Shadow's but someone else's. I could sense two bodies. Something is going on between Shadow Scourge that they're not telling us. If I could just get my hands on his own, I'd be able to tell what's wrong.
Now, I have only just one clue. I will eventually put the puzzle together. For now, I have to keep quiet.
Scourge's POV
I told Shadow not to eat too much, otherwise everyone would suspect something. We only ate a pj sandwich and some apple juice with some fruit. Shadow begged me for more food. I told him that we would get some more after we left. He got angry at me.
Well, the picnic only lasted several more hours before it was over. Silver came up to Shadow and shook his hand. "Nice seeing you again." He said.
"You too." Shadow responded. Silver put both of his hands on Shadow's hand and closed his eyes. Soon his ears raised up and his eyes shot opened. I divided their hands and shook Silver's hand.
"Nice to see you again. Now we've gotta go." I removed my hand from his and wrapped an arm around Shadow.
"Hey Scourge! Shadow!" We both turned to him. "Congratulations..." He said. Dammit! That stupid hedgehog found out. How? Did Shadow tell him?
Shadow refused to speak to me, since he was mad. We just kept walking.
Silver's POV
I get it now. Shadow's a herm, and Scourge and he are having a child. Their baby must have been the second set of body signals. From one touch, I could tell Shadow had been one week into his pregnancy and was mad at Scourge. Probably the mood swings, but you never know. I hope no one heard me congratulate them. It looked as if they wanted to keep it all a secret.
Scourge's POV
We got home and Shadow was no longer in a bad mood, he seemed more...worried.
"Hey are you okay?" I asked him. He walked off somewhere. "Shadow. Come here." I followed him. He headed to our bedroom. He sat down on the bed, biting his knuckle. "What worries you?"
He looked at me. His eyes were full of tears. "It's just that..." He sniffed. "I don't want you to get mad at me." Soon he started balling. I wrapped my arms around him and put his cheek against my chest. I put my chin between his ears.
"Sh... It's okay. I'm not mad." His cries became quiet.
"Y-You're not?" He asked.
"No. I understand you're going through some changes with your pregnancy. I won't get mad." He drew away from me. I smiled at him.
"Thank you." He said.
"No problem." I kissed his cheek.
"Scourge." He said.
"Yes?" I asked smiling at him.
"You didn't get me my food." He answered.
"Right. I'll be back with it." I blushed.

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

Dungeon Crawler Katia
The aliens killed everyone on Earth...almost. Every structure, from the Taj Mahal to the lowliest lobster trap, vanished into the earth, killing everyone inside. The survivors were given a choice: Endure on the surface without food or shelter or tools, or descend into a world-spanning nightmare dungeon that is also a reality TV show. Katia, an art professor from Iceland who has given up her humanity to transform into a shapeshifting doppelganger, meets up with Carl and his cat, Donut. Together, the three fight to survive in a dungeon filled with Clarketech goblin murderdozers and pyramid-scheme fairy moonshine-makers. The above is, of course, describing Dungeon Crawler Carl. With DoctorHepa's (the author) permission I'm posting some fanfic to expand on Katia, one of the secondary characters who started off not getting as much exploration as I would have preferred. I started off writing chapters that matched up to canon except from her POV instead of Carl's; that lasted a couple of chapters before going off the rails and spinning off into a completely new story, which suggests I should really go back and renumber all the chapters as soon as I find some tuits.
