I storm to her room, knocking before I enter. No matter how angry I am, no way I’m accidently walking in on people doing the act. She opens the door, putting an earring in.

“Hey, Skye! I’m glad you’re here! I need your help picking out an outfit for tonight.”

She closes the door once I’m inside. I get right down to business. No use beating around the bush.

“You told Daniel I’m pregnant!?”

Her face shows shock but I can’t tell if it’s fake or genuine.

“I didn’t! I swear!”

“Peni said you got drunk and told Daniel something and he told her! Now she’s pressuring me to tell Hunter I’m pregnant.”

“Just don’t tell him.”

I seriously love how she doesn’t deny it. She doesn’t even try to defend herself.

“She’s threatening to tell if I don’t.”

Andy sits on the bed, twisting the ends of her dark hair.

“The best thing to do is tell him then.”

“But I’m afraid.”

She takes my hand in hers, looking at me like a caring and concerned sister would. She’s not my blood sister, but she’s like my sister.

“He’s a good person, he’ll do the right thing.”

I look at her, making sure to show concern in my expression.

“Are you sure?”

“You’ve worked for him for how long now and you still haven’t judged his character?”

I feel slightly better about having to tell Hunter so soon. She’s absolutely right. He’s a good person with good intentions and morals. He’s talked about having kids before. He’s told dinner party clients and his parents that he wants at least two little ones. So what if this baby is unexpected?

“Thanks for talking with me, Andy.”

“No problem. Now help me pick out clothes to wear on my date tonight.”

I laugh. So demanding.
