《Kita Shinsuke》Chapter 22

I closed the door behind Kita and started to change. I put on the trousers, they were still huge but could fit around my waist. I didn't have a t-shirt and neither did Kita so I just wore his red jumped loose around my body.
I opened the door after that and waited for him to come back. When he did I asked him about where I was going to sleep.
"You should sleep on the bed. I'll stay on the floor." He offered to me. "No! It's your bed." I told him. "But you should get some res-." He tried to say.
"No!" I cut him off. "Your sleeping on the bed. That's that." I finished the argument. "You have to sleep on the bed." He fought back. "Your sleeping on the bed." I said to him.
"Just sit get on the bed." I pushed him towards the bed. "I said your sleeping on it." He put his hands around the palm of my hand making sure to stay clear of the scars.
We both fell down on to the bed after that. I lay on the bed, my chin on his chest and our hands clasped together. "How's this then?" He moved his hands to my back.
He grabbed a blanket to the side of me and covered us both. "Now sleep." He said sternly. "Fine." I grumbled moving my chin to the side. The side of my head lay on top of his chest his arms rubbing my back.
It was nice.
"Goodnight Kita." I whispered. "Goodnight." He replied. My eyes started to flutter shut and I started to fall asleep. Maybe it was the fact that I only had one coffee today or maybe it was just that I felt safe, either way I finally got a nice rest.

The next morning when I woke up I had moved a bit. I was on the other side of the bed and covered in multiple blankets. I couldn't see Kita or any light.
I decided on staying in bed until he came back instead of getting up. I pulled the blanket over my face and waited. I waited for around 30 minutes until the door opened again. "Are you awake?" A whisper came from the doorway.
I twisted around and pulled the blanket away from my face. "Mhm." "You feeling better?" He asked walking closer. "Yeah..." I mumbled moving a few strands of hair out of my face.
"Great." He put on a smile. I lifted my arms past the blanket and sat up. The bandages had been changed and were clean. I looked from my arms to him before asking. "Did you change them?"
He nodded his head. "Do they hurt?" He asked sitting on the side of the bed. "Nope!" I said pulling the blanket off my legs and standing up.
"Thanks." I whispered. "Of course, would you like something to eat?" He asked walking out to the hall. I was still a bit full from yesterday but I knew he was going to make sure I ate something so I agreed.
"Yeah." I followed him into the kitchen where he had set his table. "I'll make it, you can sit down." He said walking towards the stove. "Kay!" I pulled out a chair and sat down.
I was sitting at the table my hands holding my chin up. Until I remembered last night. We fucking kissed. Oh my fucking god. I dropped my head to the table and moved my hands to catch them.
I stuffed my head into my hands not daring to look up. "Are you ok?" Kita's voice asked. "Yeah, totally." I said, my voice muffled.

"Hey, Kita?" I lifted my head a bit. "Yes?" He turned back to face me. He looked at my face it must have been red. "Your thinking about yesterday, aren't you." He said facing the stove again.
"Wel-er... N-hm, umm-yes?" I failed to speak at that moment. "I mean like.." My voice changed back to normal. "What... Are we?" I asked.
He went silent. "I'm sorry. Maybe it was nothing. Sorry!" I started to yell a bit. "No, no." He reassured me. "I'm just not really sure." He finished.
I was surprised, well slightly anyway. Kita walked over to me with a bowl of rice and put it down in front of me while also sitting down himself. I slowly went to pick up the spoon and started to play around with the grains of rice.
"Aren't you hungry?" Kita asked. "Huh?" I looked up at him. "Sorry..." I mumbled putting some rice on my spoon. I put the tip of the spoon into my mouth and ate a few grains of rice. Kita's eyes never left my face and even without looking at him I knew.
"Hey... Kita." I started putting down the spoon. "Yes?" He answered almost immediately. "I-er..." I stopped for a moment. ".~~~~~." I whispered practically inaudible. "I'm sorry what was that?" He asked.
My head shot up. "It was nothing." I laughed awkwardly. "Are you sure?" He asked. "Yeah. Don't worry about it." I put on a smile. I continued to eat some of the rice while staring into the bowl.
He had just gotten up and walked off when I felt I couldn't eat anymore. I looked around a bit before picking up the bowl to put it into the bin. I quickly stuffed the rice into the bin and went to go clean the bowl.
I could hear Kita coming back into the kitchen and walk towards me. "If you didn't want to eat it you could've told me." He whispered into my ear. A small shiver went down my spine as he said that.
I knew that Kita was nothing like 'him' but I still flinched when his hands touched my skin. "I'm sorry." I whispered trying to force myself to relax. He seemed a bit taken back at me flinching and apologising.
"I'm sorry." I whispered again. "He-." "I'm sorry." I repeated. "I'm sorry." I kept whispering, my voice cracked as I spoke. From my eyes tears gathered into small droplets only to collapse on to the sinks metal platter.
"I'm sorry." I was still whispering those words in attempt to 'apologise' to Kita. In all honesty I wasn't sure what I was apologising for.
Was it because I had flinched at him touch? Or maybe because I had caused him trouble?Because I wasn't good enough? Because I was a burden, a problem?
My thoughts, my worries, everything. I was putting them all on to his shoulders. Was that why I was apologising? Is it?

But this is not a tale about Skyrim, this is a tale spun for something else.
