《Kita Shinsuke》Chapter 21

I peered past Kita and saw his phone sliding around his desk. From the phone there was a lot of shouts and yelling. "Oh your brothers called me." Kita said also looking back at the phone.
"Don't tell them I'm here." I whispered. "Why not?" He asked me picking up the phone. "Please." I whispered shoving my head farther into his chest.
Then he started to talk into the phone. "I saw her in town a while ago." He said to them. I let out a small sigh and listened to the rest of the conversation.
"Yes... How about Tuesday?" He finished. Then he hung up the phone and looked down at me. "Now...." He said going serious. "Tell me."
"Fine." I grumbled my head still in his chest. Eventually we sat down on the bed and I started to tell him everything. About my father, my mother, the doctor, school, and everything after that.
Except about my arms. "I'm... Sorry." He said putting his arms around me. "Why are you sorry?" I asked quietly hugging him back. "I didn't notice any of it." He whispered.
If I'm being honest the reason I still ate food at all was thanks to him. He always checked to make sure I was eating. I didn't want him to know, I didn't want anyone to know.
"No.." I said to him. "Hmm?" He pulled out a bit. I pulled forward my arms and showed him the bandages, he looked up at me before slowly removing them.
"Y/N..." He whispered. He took my arm and started to look at each side, feeling each of the scars. "Why?" He asked still feeling my arms. "Everything's just been... So much." I bit my lip. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked sounding a bit hurt.

"I..." My voice stopped completely. What do I say to him? Do I tell him the truth, that I don't feel good enough or worth it? Or do I lie to him and keep more secrets?
My breath hitched as I stuttered to say something. "I didn't want to tell you because..." I stopped again. "Everyone just seemed so happy, if I did something everything would change.." I mumbled.
I didn't cry, or stutter I barely even thought about what I was saying. It's like the voice that told me all the negative things was talking. "I would've just ruined it." It finished.
"Ruin what?" Kita said looking straight at me. "Atsumu and Osamu... They went through it as well but they're not doing what I am. They're fine. So why can't I be?" I changed the subject slightly.
He gazed into my eyes and I felt him getting closer and closer, maybe it was the other way around but we were barely a centimeter apart.
"Y/N... I've avoided this for so long." He said to me. His warm, minty breath brushed against my skin making goose-bumps appear along my arms and down my neck. "What?" I asked quietly.
"My feelings." After he said that a silence hung between us. It wasn't like the ones at the hospital or ones at awkward dinners, no it felt relaxing.
He came closer to my face until our lips met. His lips were soft, smooth and lay delicately on mine, they overlapped each other perfectly as if it was meant to be. My eyes started to shut making me loose interest in anything that was going on around me.
He didn't rush in but he didn't just sit there either. He put just the right amount of pressure into the kiss for it to be passsionate but not harsh. His fingers met mine in a slow fashion and he held my hand inside his own.

We stayed there for a minute until we both pulled off. As soon as I met eyes with him I shot my head away, my face clearly red. "W-what was that for?" I pretend pouted. "You liked it didn't you?" He laughed quietly.
Out of the corner of my eye I could see his face was a bit pink and he was touching his lips as if he hadn't meant to do that. My head slowly turned to face him again and I let myself drop on to the bed. "Y/N!" He worriedly appeared above me. I laughed a bit.
"Relax... I'm just a bit tired." I let out a small yawn. "You should probably eat something." He said remembering about earlier. "Fine, fine." I muttered.
Once I agreed he got up and went to the kitchen. I lay on his bed thinking of everything about that night. "I should probably text Atsumu and Osamu." I mumbled.
I looked over to where Kita had let his phone but it had disappeared. "Meh." I shrugged my shoulders and moved back to the other position. Kita came back after around 20 minutes holding a bit of rice and his phone.
"Now, eat." He handed me the bowl and watched as I took a spoonful of the rice.
"Do you have to watch me like that?" I asked covering my mouth with my hand. He slowly nodded his head and waited for me to finish the rice. I stopped eating a few times but he kept on giving out to me so I eventually finished it.
"You should probably sleep now. It's late." He whispered walking up to his closet. "But what about Atsumu and Osamu?" I asked looking over at he phone.
"I told them that I would collect you and take you home later on tomorrow." He explained searching for something in the closet. "You should change. How's this?" He showed me a pair of his smallest trousers.
"Ok." I got up and walked towards him. "I don't have any tops that would fit you.." He mumbled. (Kita is 5ft7, so your any height under 5ft5). He unzipped his red top and handed it to me.
"That's all I have, sorry." His voice softened. I nodded my head. "I'll just work with it." I said to him. "I'll just... Er, leave." He whispered as he awkwardly shuffled out of the room.

8 130For King and Kin: A Fox's Journey
Two fox-kin siblings set out to serve a human king, hoping to secure ties with the royals that had formed in times of war. Yet, much is demanded of them as their father's reputation precedes them. They find the King struggling to keep his vassals from breaking the terms of the armistice. With reports of smuggling increasing and the nation's strategic resources at stake, their father is sent to oversee the border. The king, fearing for his own children, hopes for six more months. Meanwhile, tavern brawls turn bloody as a cry spreads across the land, "Loyalty? Or bread!". What to expect: - cold steel weapons with magic- colonial-esque era- elements of strategy (including logistics)- powerful mages that can't block a crossbow bolt. Except for some earth mages.- realistic depictions of violence. I don't care to focus on it. - other races introduced eventually, if they fit. - Australian english, except when I slip. Not much slang though, I reckon.
