Aries

I watched as Leo planted a kiss on Libra's cheek. "Stop flirting with my girl," he growled. The group of boys dispersed immediately. Libra looked up at Leo, smiling. "Thanks, Leo. That was really nice of you." Leo grinned. "Don't mention it, Leebs." Libra smiled before turning to Leo, horrified. "Oh my god.... now we gotta pretend we're dating!" Leo nodded. "Well, you're a good actor, and I'm... me, so..." Libra rolled her eyes at Leo. "Well, I guess we'll just break up in a week or so. Nobody likes a girl on the rebound, after all."

Libra went back to her food, finishing off her Voss water. She tucked the glass bottle into her bag, dabbing at her mouth with a napkin and placing it on top of her plate which contained salad. Honestly, the girl could not eat a cheeseburger to save her life. Too much grease and all that, according to Leebs. I finished off my meatloaf. "Well, what are your plans for after school?"

.....

"Oh. My . GOD!" Libra was gushing over a white skater dress. "This is beautiful." She looked through the dresses to find one her size. "There." We walked up to the register, where Libra got her clothes billed. We walked out of the store, Libra now clutching five bags. "Okay, well, that came to what, $380?" She considered that. "Not bad! I didn't even spend a quarter of my allowance!" Libra's mother is none other than Venus, the famous designer. That's why her allowance is $1600.

Libra pulled her phone from her pocket, calling her chauffeur. "Hi Gerald." She paused. "Yes, that's right. Yes, Aries and Sarge are coming with me." Libra's mansion was basically my second home. Being a foster kid, I was constantly moving around until Venus decided to sponsor me. I now lived in a small youth facility near school but was always welcome to stay the night with Libra and Venus in the mansion. I even had a whole room and bathroom to myself there, with clothing and supplies installed.

Sarge also stayed over sometimes, but he lived right next door, so he didn't see the point. Sarge. I'd liked him since middle school, but I wasn't sure what to do about my feelings. Leebs was always telling me that he felt the same way, but part of me was scared that I'd ruin what we had right now by telling him how I felt.

"Well, come on! Gerald's here." A Tesla limo pulled up in front of us and we all piled into it, firing up the Xbox.

.....

"Well, Leo was really nice to you today, huh?" I asked Libra. "Yeah, I'm surprised-he's not usually like that, you know?" Leebs has had it in for Leo since day one, when he picked on Cancer and Pisces. "Who knows? Maybe the big guy's changed," Sagittarius commented, stuffing some chips into his mouth. "Hmm, maybe. Anyway! What movie are we watching?" Libra turned on the TV and loaded Netflix. "Can we watch Brooklyn 99?" I asked. Leebs and Sarge whooped in agreement.

The opening theme began to play. Leebs, who was sitting in the middle, leaned into Sarge, who put an arm around her. I put my head on Leebs' shoulder and Leebs put her arm around my shoulders. And suddenly, the three of us were together, and nothing mattered more. We laughed along with the show, never moving from our position.

After about five episodes of B99, Sarge stood up, stretching. "Well, I'd better get home for dinner. See you two tomorrow morning-don't be late, Leebs!" Libra smiled, rolling her eyes. "You and I both know that ain't happening. But hey, Gerald can drive crazy fast." Gerald, Leebs' butler, ducked his head into the room. "Oh, it makes me feel young." We all laughed, saying our goodbyes to Sarge.

"Libra, your mother is home. She is, well, attempting to cook dinner downstairs-I suggest you two stop her before she burns the house down." Leebs and I rushed toward the staircase, sliding down the banister. Venus was silently humming to herself as she crouched down, looking at the oven. "Oh, Libra, Aries!" She rushed over to hug both of us. The smell of Venus' Coco Chanel perfume and Libra's Dior came together as I leaned in with the two. "Now, you two, I was trying to make a pizza, but it's turned black around the edges for some reason."

Libra's eyes widened. She rushed to the oven, turning it off and opening it up to reveal a burning smell. "Mom! This was set to 500 degrees Celsius!" Venus nodded. "It said set the oven the 500 degrees-"

"Fahrenheit, Mom! FAHRENHEIT! Our oven's in Celsius!" Venus frowned, confused. Unfortunately, becoming a designing sensation did not require her to remember simple math. "It's fine-I can just ask Teresa to whip something up for us." She bustled off to find Teresa, one of the maids. I took a look at the beautiful, modern kitchen that had once served as storage at the mansion. The whole place had been renovated to create a modern kitchen equipped with subzero appliances.

"Well, what should we do now?" Leebs asked. "Hey, how about...." We looked at each other mischievously.

"APHRODITE BEACH!"

We rushed upstairs to change into our Lycra suits before grabbing our surfboards and heading down to Venus' private beach. The moon had risen over the lurching waves, casting a fantastical glow across the water. Libra lit a match, setting some wood on fire. We left our jewellery and watches by the fireplace, ready to hit the waves.

I remembered how much fun Libra and I had when we were learning how to surf in the seventh grade. We were always competing to see who could stand the longest. Sarge would always judge (because he was too chicken to try out surfing himself) and he always made Libra win. It would make me push myself that much harder. Leebs and I weren't competitive surfers-surfing was just a hobby.

"C'mon Aries, look at that beaut!" Libra pointed at a magnificent wave approaching. We paddled toward it, raising ourselves off the surfboards and gliding across the waves. It was a surreal feeling to be one with the moon and the water.

We hit a few more waves before heading toward our fireplace and opening up a s'more kit. Sarge had come with the idea to pack all the stuff for s'mores in one package when we were in the eighth grade. We'd made a shop (with Venus' help) and we sold s'more kits to the high school kids. We still made s'more kits for our own use. Libra skewered some marshmallows with one of the fireproof rods. I did the same and the two of us held our marshmallows over the fire.

"Did you hear about that party Gemini's throwing?" I asked Libra. Libra nodded. "We're all going together, right?" She smirked. "Unless you and Sarge would prefer some alone time..." I elbowed my best friend, blushing. "I think we're good. Unless you've got a date?" Libra shrugged. "I mean, I don't have my eye on anyone right now, but Ophiuchus will probably ask me." Libra shuddered. Ophiuchus was this creepy goth kid who had a massive crush on Libra.

But then again, almost every guy at Varsity High had a crush on Libra. We quickly assembled our s'mores, satisfied with the taste. "Well, let's head back. Dinner's probably ready." We grabbed our things, rushing back toward the mansion for our dinner.
