《My Life in Ruins ; Poetry》Collapsing Lungs

"Just breathe," they say. But I can't, my lungs contract with desperation but no matter how many gasps for air I take they don't feel full. There is a hole in my lungs and they're shriveling up like a week-old balloon. My head is fuzzy from the lack of oxygen, I'm positive I'm suffocating. My skull feels as if it's been fractured down the center and will split in half at any moment. My chest contracts and heaves as tears stream down my face. I sob and beg for someone to make it stop, but nothing relieves the pressure weighing so heavily on my heart. It feels as if a boulder is sitting on my chest, and I will be stuck here forever.
