《Besides Being Werewolves, They're Weird, Rude, Confusing, and Clingy》[14]

Even though the Group had decided on camping and the weather had seemingly frozen, we were now hiking up the cliff. Zoey wore a string bikini set and Jasmine wore swim shorts and a mid-stomach swim suit. I only wore some boys' gym shorts that I happened to have and a t-shirt over a sports bra that I used as water resistant underwear. Either way, I was freezing. Tori was smart and wore a surf shirt and long swim trunks that belonged to Mason. This wasn't her first time coming so maybe she just knew ahead of time about the weather. I didn't know how the boys went shirtless without being cold.

We reached the top of the cliffs and I looked down to see the dark water splash against the base.

"Are you sure this is safe?" Zoey asked as she was wrapped in a towel.

"I dunno. Let's see," Tori said. We all looked to her as she kissed Mason's lips before pushing him off. It took him five long seconds to reach the water. He floated to the surface and looked up.

"Oh, you're paying for that later!" he yelled at Tori.

She looked to us girls. "I'm sure that if he's okay, you should be fine."Before anything else was said, she hopped off the edge, holding onto her nose. She penciled into the water and immediately, she and Mason started a splash war as they swam to the shore.

"Who's next?" Eli asked with a smile. He immediately looked down to Jasmine and grabbed her hand. Jasmine pleaded not to go next. "I'll go with you—"

"No!" Jasmine yelled in protest. I looked over the edge once more.

"Boo," Wes muttered. I flinched and my foot slipped, but Wes caught me around the waist. I removed his hands and pushed him into the water. Everyone started to laugh.

"You did not!" he yelled at me from the water when he surfaced.

"I guess I did," I laughed.

"Come on, Zo," Chase said.

"No, no, no..." she declined.

"Aw, why not?" Chase asked, pressing his body into hers as he held her waist to his.

"I could die. Or freeze to death," she reasoned.

"You won't die," Chase assured, smiling slightly down to her. "When you're in the water, it's warm until you get out for long. And if you're cold after a while, I'll warm you up."

"Sure yeah right," Zoey scoffed.

"Stop being a wimp," I laughed to her.

"Then why don't you go?" she challenged. I cocked an eyebrow.

"Why don't you come with me?" I said with an evil grin before grabbing her wrist and leaning back to fall down. My hand slipped and I ended up bringing Chase down with me. Once the free air hit, Chase grabbed my arm and held me close to him before we hit the water. It wasn't cold until I surfaced. My teeth chattered as the wind and waves moved. I looked for Chase as I floated in the water and a wave hit me.

"I got you," he said as I felt him brush past me. He grabbed my left wrist and pulled me along as he swam.

"Haha. You got pulled in by a girl," Mason laughed as we all waded in the shallow water.

"Well you got pushed in by a girl," I reminded. Wes laughed as Mason glared. "Why are you laughing, Wes? You got pushed in too."

"Shut up," he commented before an ear-piercing scream broke out and Zoey hopped in. She splashed around as she surfaced.

"Can she even swim?" Mason asked me.

"Not very well," I laughed.

"I'll go get her," Chase sighed before swimming over to her. I looked up at the cliff and watched as Eli and Jasmine jumped in, holding hands.

Eventually, we jumped twice more and then just swam around. When it got dark, we all decided to set up camp. Jasmine, Zoey, and I would room in one tent as the guys roomed in the other. But right now we were sitting by the fire. Eli was sitting with his arm around Jasmine's shoulders and he gave her an extra large shirt to put on even though she had a towel. Zoey was sitting on Chase's lap as his arms strapped around her waist to keep her there as she still wore Chase's shirt. They kept kissing every two minutes and it was getting quite sickening. But not as much as Tori and Mason. They were sucking face as soon as we finished swimming so much that now they were in the extra tent "cuddling," but everyone knew what that meant.

I, on the other hand, was still chattering my teeth out of being frozen even though I had a towel around me. My clothes were still drenched and I was refusing to take them off in front of the guys. So I suffered the consequences of the cool fall night.

"You look frozen," Jasmine commented to me.

"I'm sorry I don't have a boy wrapped around me," I snapped back even though I didn't mean to.

"Or maybe because you're still in wet clothes," Zoey commented. "I bet a bikini would've dried off a whole lot faster."

"Yeah. Explain to me why you didn't just wear a legit bathing suit and change?" Wes said. I rolled my eyes to him and he didn't even deserve a response from me.

"Because she doesn't like her body," Zoey coughed. I felt a hand on the right side of my waist.

"Babe, you're hot. You should like your body...I certainly do," Wes muttered to me. I felt his warmth, but added a hand to his forearm and pushed him away, even though his hand's warmth was exactly what I needed.

"Seriously, you're gonna hit hypothermia at this rate," Zoey commented before getting up from Chase's lap and bending over right in front of him as she grabbed a bag of chips. She sat right back down.

"I'll warm up later when I'm in the sleeping bag," I hoped.

We all ate s'mores while Tori and Mason finally decided to join us, but hours after talking, we headed to our tents. Twenty minutes of tossing and turning, I couldn't fall asleep and even though I was sleeping with a towel and blanket over in sleeping bag, I was still cold. Then Jasmine touched my skin on my shoulder.

"Lili?" she whispered.

"What?"

"Go to the guys' tent and let Eli warm you up," she ordered.

"You sure?"

"Yeah. You're freezing, Lili," she mumbled. I sat up and prepared to leave the tent. She yawned a "Good night."

"Good night," I returned. I opened the door, but then turned back to her. "Oh and Jas?"

"Hmm?"

"Stop calling me Lili!" I demanded in a whisper. She giggled faintly and I headed to the guys' tent, maneuvering in the dark. When I reached their tent, I expected them to be asleep, but I heard them whispering in conversation.

"Who's there?" one of them asked.

I chattered out my name before I heard zipping and Wes was hunched over as he opened the door. I stepped through the door and zipped it back and noticed that they had a lantern on in their tent which was bigger than ours...maybe because they were all bigger than us and needed the space.

"What's wrong?" Eli asked after Wes climbed back to his sleeping space.

"I-I'm c-cold and J-Jas said y-you could warm m-me," I stammered as I got Goosebumps on my arms from being outside.

"Yeah sure. Come here," Eli invited. I crawled over to him and he put his warm arm around me and I snuggled into his chest. He was so warm. I felt another hand on my arm and I looked to see that it was Wes, who was sitting up and reached across to feel my temperature. Suddenly, two hands went to my waist and I was pulled over a laying-down Chase—who I think was asleep—and onto Wes' bedding. He was warm too...that was the only reason why I stayed there. I actually almost hugged into his body before I remembered my naturally searing anger towards him.

"What the hell?" Chase asked after being awoken. I watched as his brown eyes fluttered open. I guess the other boys failed to notice (or care) that he was the only one sleeping here.

"She got cold," Eli informed. Chase rubbed his eyes looked as though he would fall back to sleep. Wes' arms tightened around me and I turned to face him.

"You know, we can do this anytime..." Wes smirked. I would smack his head, but my hands were cradled between our chests. I heard a scoff though. I turned to Chase. He was unzipping his sleeping bag and he propped himself up with his left arm.

"Come here," he told me.

"Huh?"

"Come here," he repeated. I pushed Wes away with ease to oblige. I sat up between Chase and Wes, awkwardly. Chase sat up and looked at me before laughing once. He grabbed at my waist and pulled down my shorts. I stopped him though. His eyes flashed up to mine. "Chill. Less clothes you have, the warmer you'll be."

Only because I trusted him more than Wes, I figured. I pulled off my shorts and my shirt was still long enough to cover my bottoms that were basically compression shorts. And then Chase's expression changed as he slightly bit his bottom lip. His fingers played at the end of my shirt and I gulped. I don't like showing my body. Especially to guys.

I just wanted to get warm as soon as possible so I ended up stripping off the wet garment. His hands went back down to my shirt and he swiftly helped to pull it over my head. I instantly felt weird and self-conscious. Not because I was fat or anything, but because I just don't like people to see my body at all. I had a toned stomach and better-than-average cleavage, so as soon as that shirt was off, my knees were hugged into my chest and stomach to hide myself, no matter the shorts and sports bra I wore. Chase shifted to lay down and he glanced behind me—probably at Wes—before he unzipped his sleeping bag further and patted next to him while also holding out a blanket. I scooted over and laid down in the warm space, wrapped in a blanket I was given. Chase's arm reached over my small body and zipped us up in the sleeping bag.

It was weird, but he was warm so I laid my head down on his big pillow and stayed my distance from him in case it was weird for him too. It had to be. I was his girlfriend's sister, after all. But maybe that's the only reason he was trying to help me—my sister wouldn't be too happy if her boyfriend let me freeze. There was heat circulating around the tiny space though.

He scoffed or laughed once—I couldn't tell which—before an arm was wrapped around the front of my waist and I was pulled into him from behind. Our legs seemed to automatically intertwine. I was completely self-conscious. But Chase laughed lightly and soon enough, so did Eli and Wes.

"What's so funny?" I asked, confused.

"I can tell you're nervous," Chase's voice whispered right by my ear, making me shiver. "You haven't done this before, huh?"

"She innocent, Chase," Eli reminded. "She probably hasn't even slept in the same bed as a boy before, let alone be spooned by one."

I kept quiet, but I only heard a chuckle.

"Even Eli knew about you and I didn't?" Chase muttered to me. I shrugged.

"You never asked," I figured. Not to mention it was obvious.

"That would've been weird," he shrugged back, nudging his leg against mine. Wes chuckled.

"Dude. You can tell so easily," he said. If I didn't intentionally have my eyes covered by the sleeping bag, I would be glaring at him. "I figured it out by the first time I met her."

"We hated each other when you met me," I reminded. So why was he trying to evaluate my sexual nature? "So, I'm supposed to listen to your opinions—"

"Girls like you are the kind to have your walls up so you don't even have to worry about getting close enough to worry about all the physicality of it all," Wes explained. I didn't realize he was so insightful when it came to me. Who knew he could pull his head out of his ass long enough to notice things about me? And then that all went away when he added: "And it's not like you've had any boyfriends to deny it."

"You haven't even had a boyfriend?" Chase asked. It was so weird with him being this close but I shook my head. He tightened his grip on me enough so that he could turn me to face him. I looked up into his lightened eyes. "You really are innocent..."

"Thanks," I said in a sigh because even though it was more sarcastic than fatigued. I scrunched my nose up and snuggled it against Chase's chest in embarrassment. My face was warmed in an instant as I noticed that the guys were laughing.

"What?" I muttered, having a thought that they were laughing at my actions to warm my little nose.

"Most girls are ashamed that they're virgins and here you are in a tent with three guys proud as hell," Wes informed.

"Because I am proud of it," I announced. "It's the one thing in the world that I have complete control over."

"Well...until you met us," Eli joked—well I think he joked.

"Oh please," I scoffed.

"But seriously, watch out for Wes," Eli warned.

"Don't gotta tell me twice," I laughed.

"Or Chase for that matter!" Eli added within a laugh, but I heard something rumble in Chase's chest as if he wasn't talking it like a joke.

"What are you talking about?" I asked him, looking into his eyes that had already changed into a light hazel and green color. "Mr. I'm-Gonna-Wait-For-The-Love-Of-My-Life—"

"What's your point?" Chase suddenly asked. Yup. He was taking it like an insult; either Eli's end of things or my reminder of his vow.

"Whatever," I said as I turned in his arms and started to pull away, but not even a second later, he pulled me back into him. I wasn't gonna lie; I liked being here with him. I felt safe and wanted and...loved—like a best friend, not anything else. I always wanted a guy friend like him...but I didn't ever think it'd be my sister's boyfriend. That just made things worse with Eli's comment that he was taking seriously. Plus, if they broke up...I didn't know what would happen. I yawned and then sighed as I thought about it. Even though I didn't intend to fall asleep there—let alone with me and Chase being like this—I slept really peacefully with secure arms around me.
