i walked down the long cobblestone hallway, my feet dragging with me as time had felt 10 times slower than usual, and it seemed like it took forever to get to the end. after what had felt like hours, i had finally made it to the end of the hallway. i looked down the left, spotting a white haired man grinning evilly at me. my eyes widened, it sounded like i had said it out loud. but i knew it was only in my head. i looked down to my right, looking for any means of an escape.
unfortunately i did not find an empty hallway, instead, standing side by side were my parents, both bloody and holding knives. i shuddered and looked behind me hoping there was a way out- but was let down when all i saw was darkness. i shook my head and looked back down the left side, only to see it empty. i sighed softly and started walking that way, slowly once again, but was stopped by hand gripping my shoulder tightly.
a deep voice said. i didn't want to reply. i wanted to punch him in the face actually- but my body wouldn't let me. my parents suddenly said as they appeared in front of me. i squeezed my eyes shut as i could finally speak, i began saying, but was cut off by 6 knives being shoved through my abdomen. my parents had yelled. i looked down to see all three of them stabbing each of my hearts.
-
i shot up from the bed, panting slightly as a bead of sweat slowly slipped town my temple. once i finally realized where i was- arthur's castle, i took a deep breath and stood up, changing from my night outfit to my everyday outfit. i packed the rest of my things and tidied up my room, then made my way outside down the long hallway- thankfully unlike the one in my nightmare.
i had a nightmares quite commonly actually. about once a month, close to the time i like to change my location. almost as a reminder of why i am running. i may have only been on the run for 10 years, but i'm still running from my past. i do stay at the same locations multiple times, like camelot, dalmally, danafor, ravens, vaizel- you get the idea. i just switch it up so no one gets to know me.
as i made my way through the town i walked up to merlin's place. i already knew arthur was there, because those two always started the morning together. i knocked three times and walked in, the two standing there ready to greet me. i smiled softly, i said to them. arthur asked. i laughed slightly,
i left merlin's and began my journey to dalmally. it wasn't a long one, and before i knew it i had a room booked. i was feeling a bit hungry so i decided to go find some place to eat and possibly get food for my stay. as i was walking down the pathway i heard loud footsteps. everyone on the street noticed and turned to find the source of the sound. when a giant girl came into view, it made sense. i hid back in the alley so no one would see me, but stayed to see what would happen. she began asking a question, but the citizens screamed in fright. one yelled while running away.

a little boy said but was dragged away from her. she yelled after them. but soon, everyone was gone. she looked very sad and opened her hands speaking down to someone, she said sadly.
'captain'? no it couldn't be. i hadn't seen them in 10 years. although it would make sense as to why a random giant girl was walking around dalmally. my thoughts were confirmed when i noticed the symbol on her thigh. i was about to step out of the shadows when a pig came running behind her with a girl. the pig said- the pig said what!?
the girl began speaking but the giant cut her off. my eyes widened at the sight of the girl. i knew exactly who it was- i would have to be blind and deaf to not know. i had been best friends with the captain for as long as i could remember. i knew all about elizabeth.
the giant shouted.the girl began speaking, the pig questioned. well he definitely has no filter. before anything else happened, i stepped in front of them. the pig and girl noticed me right away and then the giant.
i said smiling slightly. the giant turned to look at me, but didn't say anything. she continued to stare at me until she realized, she yelled and kneeled down to grab me. she pulled me up towards her cheek and grinned.she explained to me. ban? all the sins? why was he looking for them? ...and he's in jail?
she then realized that i didn't know who the other two were, or should i say i didn't know who the pig was, and they didn't know me. diane told them. i blushed slightly at the compliments and waved to the two. she introduced herself.
the pig said. i smiled, i softly said.elizabeth said and ran off. diane sat down on the ground with me and meliodas in her hands. i kneeled down next to him and put a hand on in his forehead. it was warm. i softly said to him.
i looked up at diane and smiled softly. i quietly suggested. she smiled softly, she told me. i began making my way to baste prison.
it was gonna take about a day to get there, because it was a little distance away. i would just find somewhere to stay in the woods. i could make myself a shelter, clearly as i've been on the run for 10 years. i was sure it would be easy to get through the entrance. those guards weren't shit against me lets be honest. all i really had to do was silence myself and they'd be killed easily. plus, ban could get out whenever he wanted to. he was just bored. but now we wanted him to, so he had to.
i wonder what it'll be like when i see ban. him and i had a... complicated relationship. well lets just say i had a fat crush on him. i never wanted to make it known though, because we were so close. i knew about elaine. i knew about his feelings toward her, so i didn't want to interfere with that. he seemed so in love with her, i knew he would never feel the same about me. we did have a lot of fun times though. i remember the day i first realized i had feelings for him.

i rolled over and buried my head in the pillow. i almost went back to sleep before i realized we had to go into town with the sins today for the tavern to make some money. i looked at the time and realized i was AN HOUR LATE! i shot up and hurried to change into my clothes. i then ran downstairs- forgetting to put my hair up.
when i made it downstairs i noticed no one in the tavern- except for one red eyed boy. he was making breakfast. i sat down at the bar, i quietly asked him. he shrugged, he explained. i nodded, i told him. he looked up at me and smiled slightly, he told me. my eyes widened and he shook his head, he said. i blushed slightly, i softly said. he asked.
i smiled and nodded. he placed a plate in front of me and one next to me once he finished cooking. he then made his way around the bar so sit next to me. i said and began eating. it was so fucking good. i knew about ban's amazing cooking. he cooked for us sometimes when we didn't want to eat the captain's nasty ass food.
i cooked good as well sometimes, but it's not as good as ban's food. he suggested. ban wanted to do something with me? he didn't usually seem this nice. to me at least. we weren't as close as we were with some of the others. i shook my head. i told him. he looked at me shocked. i wasn't one to say much either, and i think he expected a short answer. he said. i thought about it for a second. it had been pretty hot out these past few days, and it was the other sins' fault for leaving us. i looked at him and nodded, standing up and grabbing our empty plates.
i brought them to the sink and washed them. i told him and quickly went upstairs. i put on a simple dark blue bathing suit and put on a sheer black dress over it. 'get it together (y/n). you can't get too comfortable- he'll get annoyed with you.' i told myself. i sighed, nodding. i was right, everyone always gets annoyed and tired of me. i can't let that happen. he'll never wanna talk to me again. 'and you care about that? why do you like him?' i asked myself again. i rolled my eyes at my thoughts and ignored them.
i walked downstairs and grabbed a mug pouring me some ale and gulping it down. i heard ban say. i looked up to see him standing in front of me with a large bottle of ale in his hand and an amused smile on his face. i grabbed another mug and filled them both up. i asked. he nodded and we grabbed our mugs and towels and headed out to the lake ban was talking about.
when we made it there i was in awe. it was beautiful. luscious grass and gorgeous flowers everywhere. a small lake sat in the middle of a clearing, guarded by many trees. the water was crystal clear and was glimmering in the sunlight. i grinned and looked at ban, i asked him. he shrugged, he smirked. i rolled my eyes but kept the smile on my face. i moved closer to the edge of the lake and placed my towel down, sitting on it.
ban did the same, and we both started drinking our ale. i didn't want to finish mine just yet, so i placed it on the corner of my towel and stood up. due to the alcohol already taking effect and the hot sun beating down on me, i seemed to have no problem just taking off my dress. i had wanted to feel the water to see how cold it was. i didn't want to be in the heat any longer.
i heard ban choke on his drink, but i paid no mind to it. i slowly dipped my toe in the water and it felt amazing. perfect for today. i turned around with a small smile on my face only to see ban in just a pair of jeans. 'only ban would wear jeans in a lake.' i laughed to myself. he was furiously drinking his ale as he looked at me.
i raised an eyebrow, i told him and turned back around slowly getting in. i dove under, so i could wet my face and hair. i turned back around to see ban filling our mugs and bringing them in the water. he made it in front of me and handed me one. he said as he knocked his mug against mine and we both took a drink.
around midday we decided to pack up and get to the tavern before the sins did. when we got there we both took showers and sat at the bar drinking more ale. i quietly said, sober from my shower. he nodded, he said. as he finished that sentence the 6 other sins bust through the door.
meliodas said as he noticed us. i said smiling to myself. ban looked at them and nodded, "yeah, where have ban asked them. he looked down at me and winked looking back up to the sins as they fully came in and started setting things up.
ever since that day, years ago, ban has had a special place in my heart. and little did i know, i had a special place in his too. as i started reminiscing on more memories of ban and i, and the sins, it started to become dark. i made my way over to an open area in the woods and started building a fire. i sat around the fire staring into the flames. i said quietly to myself.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe. You can read them here: Dark Fantasy Short Stories.

P.S #2: I am sure you noticed that the Cover Art is not mine. I simply chose from my collection of favorite Concept Arts. If whoever designed this art sees this, I thank you very much. Since I am doing everything myself and have to alternate between my work and writing, this is the best I could do. P.S#3: If there are any inconsistencies with what you know (for example, location’s names, recent world events and properties), please remember: This Story takes place in a fictional and alternate reality.
