《Unforgettable (Peter Parker x Reader)》Chitauri and Human technology?

Once I was in my room, I started to walked back and forth, mumbling to myself as I did.
The image of Spider-Man taking off his mask replayed over and over again in my head. Even though I didn't see his face, just from the back he looked so much like Peter.
"Miss (L/n), are you alright?"
I jumped at the sound of Friday's voice. I stopped pacing and fell backwards on my bed.
"I'm alright Friday. Just," I paused looking up at the grey concrete ceiling. "Just, over thinking something." I finally said after a moment.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Friday asked, sounding concerned.
"No, it's alright Friday. I should go to bed anyway." I said getting up off my bed and walked over to my still unpacked suitcase and grabbed a shirt and shorts and started to get changed.
"Friday, lights off." I said as I crawled under my covers.
The lights started to dim until they where completely off. I stared into the darkness until I finally was able to fall asleep.
~~~
What I saw on Friday night was still fresh in my mind. I hadn't left the tower since then, so I though it was about time I go outside a clear my mind, and hoping along the way I would bump into Spidey.
After walking for hours I was finally walking along the streets of Queens.
The streets where busy with life. I small smile made its way into my face. I turned off the street and climbed up onto one of the buildings.
I sat on the roof once again, hoping a curtain red and blue clad boy would be out and about so we could hang out like I promised.
As I waited my mind started to drift back to last night once again.
If Spider-Man was Peter it would explain how the second time we met, Spidey knew my name.
Why Peter acted so weirdly in PE when Ned yelled out how Peter knew Spider-Man.
Where Peter disappeared off to last night.
All the secretary and whispering.
That would also explain how he knew I lived at Avengers Tower and was able to keep up with the car.
But also most of the population has brown hair.
"My brain hurts." I said putting my head in my hands with a groan.
"Maybe you shouldn't think so much."
I jumped and turned around to see the person who I was waiting for. I smiled and patted the place next to me.
Spider-Man walked over and sat down, swinging his legs back and forth.
"Is something bothering you?" He asked looking at me and tilting his head to the side.
I felt my face start to heat up so I turned to look at the scenery in front of us. "Sort of. Two out of my three friends at school are keeping things from me and one knows one of my secrets. Plus on top of that one of the guys I sort of like has be keeping me out of things." I said with a sigh.
"Anyway, my problems aren't important. What's important is about what happened last night with those guys in the van. Did you stop them?" I asked, looking over at Spidey.
He seemed to snap out of what ever trance he was in and looked away from me.
"R-right. Well last night would probably would have to be the most terrifying thing that has ever happened in my life." He said and I frowned.
"What happened after you I told you to run after the Van?" I asked, wanting to know why Tony's suit was carrying him.
"Well when I was about jump onto the van when this scary guy with wings came out of nowhere and took me up into the sky." He said looked into my eyes.
"The parachute in my suit activated, pulling me out of the grip of, who ever he was and I fell into the river. Iron Man, well it was technically his suit, that saved me." He finished explaining and then turned around to get something out of his bag which I just noticed.
That bag also looked a lot liked Peter's but again, anyone could have the same bag as him.
"After I got thrown into the river, on my walk back I found this. I thought since you sorta know more about this stuff then me you could take a look at it." He said a pulled out a purple stone which was incased in metal.
My eyes widened and took it from his hands. "I'm guessing this splintered of one of their weapons?" I asked looking it over.
"Yeah. It's from the gun that he tried to shoot you with." He said as he looked down at his lap and started to fidget with his fingers.
"Hey I'm alright. I managed to drop to the ground before it hit me." I said putting my hand on his shoulder.
He turned to look at me and once again I felt my face start to heat up. I distracted myself by looking over the technology that was in my hands. "Peter and Ned would love to see this." I said, trying to see if I could get a reaction, even just a small one to see if it's Peter behind the mask.
All I saw was a nod.
"Can I hold onto this until Monday? I want to have some help from them." I said holding up the stone, in cased in metal.
I then looked up and saw how close me and Spider-Man was. My face now felt like it was on fire.
I looked at where his eyes would be, wishing I could see who was behind the red mask. Wishing I could kiss him.
At the though I immediately stood up, almost tripping over my own feet and backed away.
"H-hey, look at the time. I-I should go home before I g-get in trouble." I said stumbling over my words and walked quickly over to where the ladder was.
"I'll see you when ever! I-I'll look over this thingy with my friends, then give it back. Bye!" I said in one breath before I slid down the ladder, leaving Spider-Man on the roof.
I lent against the brick wall holding my shirt where my heart was. I could hear it pounding in my ears. I didn't want to leave him by himself on the roof but just that thought of wanting to kiss the man behind the mask made my heart raced.
I looked up at the sky with a sigh and then started my long walk back to Avengers Tower.
~~~
"Friday, can you scan this for me." I said walking into the Tony's lab on the main floor and pulling out the peace of metal from my jacket pocket and put it on one of the many tables.
"It seems to be Chitauri technology fused with human materials such as coper and steal." Friday said.
I sat down in one of the few chairs that Tony and Bruce has in the lab and lent on the table looking at the pease of metal. "Man, who ever they are know how to get alien tech to work with ours." I said watching a small pules of purple light.
"Is something still on your mind?" Friday asked after a few minuets of silence.
I sighed and sat up. "Its nothing I can't handle." I said putting the stone into one of the containers that sat around the lab. "Can you run a full scan of...what ever this is?" I asked
"Certainly, but I will not be able to tell you exactly what the components are until tomorrow." She said and I smiled.
"Take you're time." I said and walked out of the lab and pulled out my phone text Peter and Ned if at lunch we could meet up tomorrow and have their opinion on what this is.
~~~
Lunch time on Monday came around and the three of us made out way to the metal/woodworks lab. "So what do you want to show us?" Ned asked as we walking into the lab saying a small hello to the teacher and then walked over to one of the spare tables.
I put my bag on the table and opened it and pulled out the glowing peace of metal. "It's something that I've sorta been attacked with twice now." I said as I put it on the table.
"Where did you get this?" Ned asked as he looked at it in awe.
"I meet up with Spider-Man yesterday when I was walking about. He asked me to have a look over it, which I did. I don't much about what it is, so I want your guys input." I lied while shrugging my shoulders.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Peter raise his eyebrow in my direction but he didn't say anything. Instead he tried to pull off parts of the metal casing but it wouldn't budge.
He then grabbed the hammer that was sitting on the table and started to hit it, the the casing came off, it caused a small shock wave to pass though the room. The three of us looked at each other.
The teach who wasn't paying attention to anyone working in the room mumbled something but didn't look away from the magazine that he was reading.
"Lets not hit it with a hammer next time." I mumbled and looked back to the stone that was exposed.
We all crowed around the peace and looked over it. I did know some of the things that made it up.
"What is that?" Peter asked as he looked over my shoulder. I tried to ignore how close we where and tried to keep my focus on the Chitauri and human tech sitting in front of us.
"I don't know." I said as I looked at the wiring that connected to the stone.
"You know this looks looks like its home made." Ned said as he looked over it.
"What do you mean?" Peter said looking at Ned.
Ned then pointed to the wires. "See this, this is stuff that you would see in a tooth brush." He said pointing to the wiring connecting to the stone.
Me and Peter looked away from the stone and looked towards Ned.
Before we could say anything else the bell rung. I looked at the stone and then sighed. "Hey Ned, maybe you should have a look over this. You probably know more about how they put it together then me." I said as I handed it to him.
He looked at me and was about to say something but I put my finger over my lips telling him to be quiet.
He looked at me in confusion and then a look of realisation replaced it. He nodded his head and put it into his bag.
"Are you coming?" Peter said from the door and I looked over to him.
I smiled and walked over and the three of us started to make our way to class.
"Oh before I forget, we have a decathlon meeting after school today." Peter said once we stood outside the door to our classroom.
I smiled. "If you didn't tell me I wouldn't have known. Thanks Peter." I said as we walked into the class and sat down.
So I actually wrote the first part while half asleep but I didn't know what else to write when I was fully awake so I sorta kept it with that so that probably why it's sorta crap but eh. Also the metal/woodwork scene was probably one of their classes but I decided to make it at lunch cause why not, plus at the high school I went to, at lunch you could go in and work on stuff if you needed to so I based it off that.
Also I suck at naming chapters now XD
A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course. Where else is a kid from the gutters going to find that kind of freedom in the service of His Majesty? A [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] 2021.
