Gracie felt heartbroken after reading Linong's message. The boy pushed the girl away, just because she is in love with another guy.
Why couldn't Linong just accept it?
And when he said to go to Chengcheng's side 'for now', and he will come around 'later', what does he mean?
Did he ask Gracie to date Chengcheng and when they'll break up, only then he will show up?
"I never thought my life would become this complicated and... Interesting", Gracie muttered to herself.
It could be considered interesting, seeing that two boys are in love with her. She was in a cliche love triangle.
A lot of girls around the world would want to experience some drama like this, but trust me, you wouldn't want to.
Gracie got off of her comfortable bed and went into the kitchen. At first she was planning on not eating tonight as she was lazy to cook dinner, but she was craving for some instant noodles suddenly.
She opened the cabinet to take one cup of instant noodle from her pile of instant noodles stock. Believe me, her stock looks like she could feed herself with those for a year.
She took out the 2x spicy chicken fire noodle cup. She wanted something spicy, something to pain the tongue to forget about the pain in the heart. She didn't know why Linong's words could affect her so much.
"But Nongnong was being selfish too...", Gracie thought as she added hot water from the water dispenser into the cup.
She took out her handphone and played with it while waiting for the noodles to cook. After about 3 minutes, Gracie poured the water out and added the sauce on the noodles. She mixed the noodles with the sauce while making way to the dining table.
Gracie sat down and took a bite of the spicy noodle. She was really good at eating spicy food. To her, the noodles were kinda spicy but she could bear it.

She started to chow down her noodles while playing with her phone.
She scrolled through her Instagram feed, nothing much. Just some photos that her friends posted and some celebrities that she follows. After that she decided to message Chengcheng.

fter she had sent all those messages to Chengcheng, she ate the final bits of her noodles and finished it.
She got up and threw the cup into the trash bin. She then washed the chopsticks she used before going back into her bedroom, throwing, like literally, throwing herself onto her bed.
She had no chores and homework to do anymore, so the best thing to do now is to sleep and rest.
"Sleep at 9:30? No way", Gracie said to herself. The girl usually sleeps at 11:00 p.m. But, she only had English homework so she didn't need to procrastinate on doing her homework.
So now, she would just play with her handphone for a while.
She checked back her DMs with Chengcheng. He still hasn't replied. Gracie scrolled up, reading back their old chats.
She laughed and giggled while reading their old chats. Chengcheng sure did try to flirt with her, while she at first wanted to play hard-to-get, but miserably failed. It's not her fault she found Chengcheng charming.
After she finished scrolling to the bottom and reading their past conversations, she got back to the message she had sent him a while ago.

Gracie frowned when she saw that Chengcheng had only seen her message. It was unlikely of him to do so. He would reply every single one of her messages.
"Oh well... Maybe he's really busy. I wonder what he's up to...", Gracie thought.
After that, Gracie put her handphone on the nightstand, before drifting herself to sleep.

The next morning, Gracie went to school as usual. As she was walking towards the school gate, she almost collided with a guy with 2 more by his side because she kept looking on the ground. She looked up realized that she almost bumped into Linong.
She looked at the other two guys and saw Kaihao and...
"Wenjun? I thought Nongnong hated him?"
"Oh um... I'm sorry", Gracie bowed down, apolozing at the boys.
"It's fine", Linong told her.
The four of them just stood there in awkward silence, blocking other students. After Gracie realized that they were all just standing there looking at each other, she wanted to head to the classroom.
"I'll... get going. See you guys later...", she said and gave Wenjun a slight bow before running off.
She arrived at her classroom and hanged her bag on the chair and sat down. She put her head on the desk. She still felt tired and sleepy so she decided to take a nap until the teacher came into the classroom.
But before she could enter dreamland, someone tapped her back, causing her to pull her head back up. She looked to her side and saw Linong.
"What is it?", she asked him. She hoped he would say something that would make her feel better. She hoped that he would say that they can be best friends again, and he would just let her be with Chengcheng.
Linong gave her a small smile and said,
"Can I say something a bit? Just here"
"Sure. What is it?", the girl asked.
"Do me a favor", Linong said.
"Okay?", Gracie answered questionly.
"Gracie, please cut to chase. Stop making Chengcheng wait", he said.
"W-what?"
"Stop the game thingy and just date him. Stop making the poor boy wait for you. He's trying hard to earn your trust and love, can't you see it? And I know that you feel the same way as him. So stop playing hard-to-get, and just date him"
Gracie just looked at Linong judgingly.
"And who are you to interfere my relationship with Chengcheng? Last time I checked, we were only classmates", she said pressing the word 'classmate'.
"Oh shit Gracie what are you even saying?! What if he'll be friends with you again if you date Chengcheng?", Gracie mentally slapped herself.
Linong just let a sigh before continuing frustratedly.
"I swear to God Gracie! Just do it! Don't hold back anymore, please...", he let out.
"Okay, okay... I'll stop the stupid game. I'll message him later. Happy?", she said to be boy.
"Very", the boy said in a mocking manner and went out of the classroom, probably to see Kaihao.
Gracie just stood there and stared the boy's back until he went out and scoffed.
"I thought he would say something about our relationship but he talked about mine and Chengcheng", Gracie mumbled sadly as she sat down and ruffled her hair.
~~~
Linong let out a heavy sigh as he leaned on the wall beside the classroom.
"It's for your own happiness, Gracie..."
Shadow in the North
What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago.But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
