Gracie sighed as she put her phone inside her pocket. Linong had been acting distant towards her today at school.

But the boy still ate lunch with her as usual. But he didn't spoke a word to her at all, unlike his usual self.

Gracie got off of the bus when it reached her stop. As she was walking on her way back to her apartment, she stopped in front of Linong's house. She just stared at the house for a few good seconds, before finally letting out a sigh.

"What did I even do wrong?", she asked herself. Like, he couldn't be that mad at her?

She was debating whether to knock on his door, and sort out everything or just continue to walk back home.

Finally, she decided to just continue walking back home. She could just ask Linong what was his problem later.

"She stopped in front of Chen Linong's house for a while, before continuing walking back to her apartment"

"She's okay, right?",the guy on the phone asked.

"Yes, she arrived safely, don't worry", he rolled his eyes.

"Good, thanks bro"

"Anytime", he said and hung up.

"What am I even doing?", he facepalmed himself.

Gracie heaved in relief after she finally had finished all of her homework. She was practically drowning in a pile of books and worksheets.

"Damn teachers need to know students struggles", she grumbled as she tidied and kept her books.

Gracie recalled if she had left any house chores undone, which she finally realized that she had done everything. Living alone is kinda hard.

Her parents bought her an apartment to teach her on how to live independently. Lucky her she knew how to. Her parents still gives her allowance, so it was okay for her.

She sat down on her couch and opened her phone. There was suprisingly no message from Chengcheng. Looks like she was anticipating a message from the guy.

As she was replying to her classmates messages, someone called her.

It was Linong.

Gracie didn't hesitate to accept the call.

"Hello?"

"Why are y-you making it h-h-harder for me Gracie?", Linong said at the end of the line.

She was shocked to hear that his voice sounded like he was crying. She heard the boy sniffle through the phone.

"What do you mean?", she asked Linong. Why was he crying?

She heard him taking a deep breath before continuing.

"You never noticed my feelings? I like you. No, I probably love you. I tried my best Gracie. I tried to make you like me back. But you never did and would just think about Wenjun. And now that Fan Chengcheng", he said as he sobbed.

Gracie felt speechless at Linong's sudden confession.

"H-he likes me?"

"I-I'm sorry. I'm really sorry Nongnong", she said.

That was the only thing she could say.

That's why he was always overprotective over her. That's why he hated Wenjun, and would always glare at the guy. That's why he was angry when she gave Chengcheng a chance.

"Ah, it's okay, I'm used to it", Linong said.

She felt heartbroken as she heard him say that.

"I hurted him that much?"

"But we can still be friends", he said.

Gracie felt relieved when he said that. At least her friendship with him won't be broken.

"Thanks Nongnong... For letting me know. I'm sorry...", she let out.

"Just forget what I said, okay? I don't want us to be awkward", the boy told her.

"Mm, okay", she replied.

"Bye, I gotta go. See you tomorrow", Linong said and hung up, before Gracie could even say 'bye'.

Gracie let a long sigh. She never knew that Linong would like her. Yes, she's that oblivious.
