starting to think that wearing an overcoat during summer is a bad idea.
Of course. She is a model. She has to wear everything that was thrown at her. And that includes pretty much the most ironic line of clothing.
"Keep that smile on, Kassy. And pout your lips more!" Mr. Guerrero said, the chief of the shoot. She did so and a few some poses. Honestly the light was blinding and she wanted to go back to her apartment. Just sprawl across the couch with food banned by her fitness instructor and watch some foreign films. That wasn't hipster-like or anything. People just doesn't appreciate other things because they're scared.
"That's the last shot! Beautiful job, Kassy. Pleasure doin' business with you." Mr. Guerrero praised.
She forced a smile. "Yeah. Thanks." She felt someone tug her away and saw her agent, Loraine.
"Fast walk, Fujiwara. We have a photo shoot at Seattle's Best at San Francisco. Remember?" Kasumi would've retorted how she got another photo shoot, but shut her lips and nodded.
"Remove that hideous coat and change. Quickly! I've got an appointment with the manager there!" Loraine shoved her inside her trailer. Through the door, Kasumi could hear her fuming breaths. She chuckled to herself and changed to a regular blue shirt, denim shorts, and Reebok shoes. She didn't bother combing her hair. It was going to be styled anyway, so she went with a high pony tail. She went outside and saw Loraine impatiently tapping her foot. Her beehive blonde hair a bit messy. She took one look at Kasumi with those piercing grey eyes and then she exploded.
"Why are you wearing something so... casual!? And why didn't you fix your hair!?" She tugged at her hair, making Kasumi stumble.
"They'll just style it anyways. Can we go now please so we can finish?" She said in a monotone voice. Loraine wanted to argue back but pulled her to Loraine's orange Subaru Forester. She shoved Kasumi in the backseat while she sat in the front. She started the engine and they were off. Loraine turned on the radio where a traffic reporter's voice was talking,

"-tomorrow. Today's traffic status is very heavy. Cars and trucks are filled in every single highway. For those who are taking the downtown street, please take a different route due to construct-" Loraine turned off the radio and hit the steering wheel angrily.
"Sweet mother of-could this day get any worse?" Kasumi, instead of listening to her agent's complaints, looked outside the window. The first thing she saw was her reflection; pale skin, cornflower blue eyes, and long, pale blonde hair. Then the next were the cars, bumper to bumper. And then the people commuting. She wouldn't mind commuting to the coffee shop. Heck, she wanted to ditch Loraine and escape but she couldn't. She was bound by a contract.
"Just this one last shoot." Loraine mumbled but Kasumi heard it. "One last shoot and I'm done."
Kasumi wanted to believe her. She knew that Loraine wanted to take a break more than her. But just when they both thought that, a ring on the phone and they're off somewhere else. She saw Loraine take a different route where cars were double parked. She carefully maneuvered through the street and saw that they were in front of the said coffee shop. She and Kasumi went out of the car and the young model saw the outline of Ghirardelli Square. She heard that there was a famous chocolate shop there. Maybe after the shoot she could stop by.
"Hurry! Hurry!" Loraine pushed her inside the coffee shop. The smell of freshly brewed coffee awakened her senses. The cold air was refreshing from the hot temperature outside. Loraine briskly walked to a stout man in his thirties. They made some hand gestures, taking a few glances at Kasumi until he talked to a barista. She gave him an iced hazelnut coffee and he walked towards her.

"This shoot isn't gonna take too long. You just have to pose naturally while drinking our coffee."
"And my clothes?" Kasumi asked.
"They look fine. Plus it's pretty hot outside, so your hair looks ready. Just sit there and drink." He pointed at a table near the window. It had perfect lighting and the view was overlooking an antique shop. She thought this was going to be a good shot, since it was so hot and she wasn't forced to change. He handed her the iced beverage and she sat at the window, crossing her legs while taking a sip. The photographer took shots from different angles. Some customers took pictures of their own and posting them to their own accounts. She didn't even finish the drink when the photographer stood up and talked to Loraine. She nodded and took a glance at Kasumi that said; 'We're done.'.
She stretched from her position and took another sip of her iced coffee. She stood and could feel the stares of the patrons in the shop. Loraine finally said the closing words before ushering her outside. The cold air changed to the heat in San Francisco. Just when they let out a sigh of relief, Loraine's Samsung Note 5 rang. She let out a small shriek and took the call. She did the usual intro; her name, occupation, and what she could do. She nodded and hummed until she looked at the Ghirardelli Square. She muttered an 'okay' before she hung up. She pocketed her phone in her purse and shoved Kasumi inside her car.
"Where's the shoot this time?" Kasumi asked.
"Luckily it's near; Ghirardelli Square. You just have to pose at the chocolate shop."
Kasumi smiled for real. She never went to Ghirardelli Square and she heard that it was festive this time of year. And she gets to go to that chocolate shop she heard so much.

Redemption is a fickle thing. Nine detectives and nine serial killers find themselves playing a dangerous survival game of deductions, pretending, and - murder. With your life and alias on the line, what would you give up for a shot at redemption? ... They do not know each others' identities, and what's more - 9 of them are anonymous detectives, and 9 of them are serial killers. The cast is given a list of their names, and a list of the identities of the serial killers and detectives they are being held hostage with, and are forced to interact to guess the identities. The people who are able to connect all identities will get "a special advantage" in the killing game, but it isn't specified what. Alongside this, each cast member is given three secrets they are able to reveal at any point for an advantage in the killing game as well. However, one of these secrets is their name, and revealing that secret will result in a minor "punishment" as well. [COVER ART DONE BY RILIE @kisikils] [Illustrated]

The Spear and The Cross
The World of Marrh has been embroiled in a decades-long struggle between the eventually divided Zurul Horde and the ever-decaying Juman Empire. A war whose causes for carnage have long been forgotten. A half-orc and a human will eventually meet paths, their fates intertwined to save their dying world from their peoples' conflict and from an outsider's interference... Will they succeed, or will they succumb to failure? Only the Divine will truly know. NOTE: I upload chapters (about +2,500 words) on an irregular basis, so don't expect much from me. I write for fun only, and this book is an amateurish attempt at showcasing my world on The Spear and The Cross. If you still want to stick around, then go ahead. Maybe it'll be a fun ride. And also, a big thanks to my artist friend, Milkuii, for the wonderful cover art.

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
