《The Devil I Love | Jikook Smut |》Chapter 28: Trapped

Silence filled the young man's mind the moment Jimin hung up without Jungkook saying goodbye. After those words were exchanged, he wondered if he crossed the line in which they drew for this relationship. Jungkook worried a bit and couldn't help but to grow even more curious with questions filling his head.

"No... ah... I shouldn't butt into his life. Park Jimin is a famous idol, his life is way different from mine and I have no place in wanting to know why he behaves like this when I don't even know much about him... we've only fucked... that's all," Jungkook said to himself and let out a sigh. Not brushing off the many things he wondered but only set it to the side since his curiosity was bigger than any other thought.

Just as Jungkook continued to think of Jimin, the door to the printing and surveillance room opened wide and Taehyung stepped in with a camera strap hooked over his neck.

"THERE YOU ARE!" Taehyung called out to the young man and closed the door behind him. "I just finished another client while you were gone, I feel like you've been hiding the world from my photography skills! So now, I came to overthrow your position and claim myself as the king," Taehyung claimed.

"You wouldn't need to take over for the rest of the day, Taehyung. I'm here, you could take a brea-"

Suddenly, Taehyung hissed and held the camera in his hands, far from Jungkook's position and glared at him. "No, No, you have an interview to do with that delicious man out there!"

"Delicious?"

"You see that man out there? He needs this job, so if you won't go out there to interview him, I will take your position as boss, Jungkook!"

"He doesn't even need this job! I saw him working at the love hotel-" instantly, Jungkook covered his mouth and watched Taehyung grow disgusted once again.

"EXCUSE YOU!"

"I... I saw it on his resume and I- ah... who am I kidding? I saw him at the love hotel Saturday night after I dropped you off at your place."

"Jungkook, I never knew you were the type to pick up anyone from the club and take them to a love hotel! Who are you?!"

"Listen, it wasn't anyone... it was... ah, it was Jimin."

"PARK JIMIN?!" Taehyung shouted and tilted his head in disbelief. "What's he doing at the club? Isn't he scared of getting caught? What about his reputation?"

Jungkook rubbed his eyes carefully and let out a sigh. Hoping he didn't have to slip up on his own words so he wouldn't have to explain this to the older man that worked for him and his only friend. "He wore a disguise and he found me there... then we made plans to go to a love hotel and after we dropped you off, we went there and I ran into Hoseok.... Ugh, I hope he doesn't remember and brings it up. That's one of the many reasons as to why I don't want to interview him."

"Well you're going to have to do it whether you like it or not. You haven't been hiring people like we've asked you to do for the longest. Ever since Jimin came here and began his photoshoots, we were warned about this and it will only be busier than the day before. So, Hoseok is the one we need right now to help around here. He's such a sweet man! Hire him or die..."

"You and what army?"

"I'll let you think about that," Taehyung replied and walked over to Jungkook before standing behind his chair and dropping his hands onto his shoulders. "Jokes aside, put your immaturity away and go interview Hoseok. I can guarantee you he is just like Yoongi! They are both hard working men and in no way will that affect the business," Taehyung rambled on as Jungkook continued to stare at the two standing by the front desk and talking as they awaited Hoseok's interview. "Something tells me you don't want to see them that close..."

"I'm a confusing man, Taehyung... what I want is right there," Jungkook mentioned and looked at Yoongi through the surveillance camera. "My jealousy is right here where I stand... but my thoughts are in there..." Jungkook said and reached for a letter Jimin sent him with the roses. "At times I just feel like I force myself to like a few things to keep my life rolling, just so I wouldn't stop and suffer any longer with the confusion."

"Who hurt you?" Taehyung asked as Jungkook turned around and let out a laugh before shoving the older man against the wall playfully. "Ah, Jungkook, why don't you listen to me for once? I thought you were going to try and get to know the two of them more so you can see who your feelings reside with. Faking and saying it's Yoongi too soon isn't fair, the same thing goes for Jimin. Don't you think you deserve something true?"

Jungkook grew silent. He didn't want to mention how he and Jimin already established a sort of relationship, so he sat at the chair and nodded his head softly. Hearing Taehyung's words and wondering where he decided to jump ahead of the plan before. He jumped ahead because he couldn't sit back and wait for his thoughts to clear out. He wanted his life to be as simple as it was before when he liked Yoongi and was busy working all day. But now, it was confusing, he clung onto things that didn't seem to make sense to himself.

"You're right..." Jungkook said. Already knowing he jumped ahead to soothe his mind too soon instead of going the long and right way.

Once their conversation was cut short, Jungkook told Taehyung to call Hoseok in for an interview. Normally, he would be nervous and would try his best not to embarrass himself in front of Yoongi's close friend, however, Jungkook knew he was already seen differently by this man. Hoseok recalled him from the night at the love hotel and since the happy man was close to Yoongi, Jungkook had a mixture of envy and a hint of jealousy in him at the moment.

Hoseok wandered in and sat at the chair right in front of the computer. Carrying a big smile over his face while Jungkook sat across from him. Staring and sitting back against the chair, deepening his stare while Hoseok looked around like a joyous child; curious of the world around him.

"I never knew the surveillance footage was held together with the printing room! Good use of space there, Mr. Jeon," The man continued in awe as Jungkook let out a sigh and pulled up the resume over the monitor. "I'm so glad I'm having this interview, Mr. Jeon."

"You don't have to call me 'Mr. Jeon', Hoseok. Since everyone who works here is older than me, I tend to let them address me by my name. It's a way I allow them to work comfortably," Jungkook mentioned and watched the man nod his head. "You're very excited... Do you love working?"

"Yes, of course I do! I'm more than happy to be here. When my- when Yoongi... mentioned his workplace and said I would fit right in here, I couldn't help but to be excited to come over and apply! It's an amazing place, I hope to work very hard here!"

"Is that so?" Jungkook asked and let out a soft chuckle. "You and Yoongi are very much alike when it comes to hard work, I can see why he recommended this job to you..." Jungkook added on and saw the experience on his resume and it was the love hotel he went to with Jimin on that Saturday night. "So, you have another job..."

"Oh, that place... I'm going to quit. You know exactly, I remember seeing you there, but don't worry! I won't tell a soul~" Hoseok teased and watched Jungkook look down at the letter. "I didn't think you were in a relationship, Jungkook. You're very hard working... I'm shocked you make time for those sorts of things," Hoseok continued. Deepening the childish smile as Jungkook began to grow embarrassed.

"Let's... not talk about that here..." Jungkook added and watched the older man laugh. "Please don't mention it to anyone..."

"Of course not! I may be close with Yoongi, but I wouldn't tell him that. He talks a lot about you–all good things of course– and I wouldn't want to bring that up to him, I promise!" Hoseok, mentioned as Jungkook, let out a relieved sigh.

Jungkook couldn't recall any good information about Hoseok throughout the interview and all he could remember saying was towards the end, he hired him and gave him a start date. With that, Jungkook's mind that clung onto Yoongi was envious of how close the two were. He only hoped to get close to Yoongi in order to make something work– a friendship or anything–This left Jungkook to then step out of the office once Hoseok was already out the doors to see Yoongi sitting there, taking calls and adjusting the schedule due to many customers making appointments.

Normally Jungkook would be excited about this, but his mind was never in the right place. He approached Yoongi and began to fidget with the roses close by in order to work his way up to speak to the man. No matter what, he would always grow nervous around his employee when it came to starting conversations that had nothing to do with work.

"Yoongi..." Jungkook called out and leaned towards the desk with a smile he never knew he would give to the man like this.

"Yes?"

"We are going to have a mandatory night to drink, just the three of us! We still haven't had that... and I think we should celebrate!" Jungkook mentioned. Knowing well he didn't have plans since Jimin was too busy. "How about this Saturday?"

"Hm... how about next Saturday? I'm a little busy with my other job...I will also let Taehyung know. He's always available since he doesn't have a second job now," Yoongi mentioned with a chuckle and watched Jungkook nod his head happily. "We've held off on that for quite some time, right? Just the three of us... brothers bonding over drinks," Yoongi shot at Jungkook and made the young man nod his head once more. Not wanting to cringe at those words again.

"Yeah... brothers..." Jungkook finished off and looked over at the roses as soon as the conversation died out after Yoongi said that word Jungkook despised. However, he was happy he managed to get through to Yoongi for a night with him and Taehyung.

Meanwhile, Jimin laid at the center of his own bed silently. Not wanting to move after his break ended an hour ago. He had many things to do, but he just couldn't get out of bed. It was now that he realized that no amount of seconds spent with Jungkook for just one night would suffice. He sighed and turned his head to the windows off to the distance. Wondering when he could see the young man, but then his thought bubble popped when Namjoon stepped into the room.

"Jimin, we're late again, please don't make me apologize to the Director again.." Namjoon mentioned as Jimin sat up and looked at the older man standing by the doorway. "I hate going to his office... he's weird..."

"Namjoon, could you clear up some of my work on the schedule? This is too much... I barely have a day off!" Jimin whispered with a gloomy look to his face. Disregarding the comment about the Director. "Could you? You're my manager after all... you did it before."

"Oh, Jimin, you know I want to! Clearing up your schedule for Saturday brought an issue with the Director. You would think he has more things to focus on, but if you fall behind even more he will get upset. Seeing that you're his favorite, he doesn't want you to get lazy," Namjoon replied and stepped into the room to close the door behind him.

"Well... could you slow down with agreeing to these projects? I could only do so much."

"Jimin, I'm going to be honest with you. Even if I'm the manager, the Director somehow decides to take my work from me," Namjoon confessed and watched Jimin's gloomy stare shift into a fearful one. "He decides what projects to put you on and he agrees to do much... I have to fit them all in your schedule. I have no other choice, Jimin. He's the one putting so much on your plate... not me. Director Sung did say if you wanted to talk to him about it, to see him at his office, he doesn't want to take your calls anymore."

Those words; those honest and horrifying words scared Jimin and left him tearing up. No matter what he did, he couldn't escape the trap he was shoved into from the very beginning. Jimin found himself trapped under the hands of the Director, struggling and putting up a fight to be freed when he wasn't strong enough to escape this hell that somehow managed to pluck all the feathers to his wings from the very beginning. All while Namjoon stood there, watching the tears fall from his friend's face and feeling as if he himself was unhelpful in every situation when Jimin was helpless like this in the hands of the Director.
