CHAPTER 10
We checked everywhere in his room and nothing really seemed out of place.
Cassandra took pictures of the logos we had seen in the book before we left the room. We sat in my room for a while saying random rubbish and just wasting time. Cassey ordered pizza on the house while we talked. Something flashed to my mind briefly
"I feel like we are forgetting something" I said licking cheese off my lips
"me too I feel the same, what could it be?" she said sarcastically
"oh crap our geography project we were supposed to work on" I stood up in a rush dropping my last bit of pizza in the box.
I sat in front of the computer as we tried to search for answers to the assignment. At first everything was okay till the computer opened several tabs of different apps.
"looks like we mistakenly downloaded a virus" I relaxed in my chair a little then rubbed my forehead slightly
"good thing I brought an antivirus flash drive" she dug into her purse to bring out a very tiny silver flash
"you knew we were going to get sabotaged?" I collected the drive and plugged it into the computer
"it's good to be always prepared mate" she said beaming smiles at me
We weren't able to finish the project that day due to the fact that Cassandra kept eating and not making any contribution to the project. If that was all it'd have been fine but she had to play very loud music which just made my work much slower and stressful so much for a teammate
I walked her to the gate of the estate as usual then turned to go back to the house for further investigation. I couldn't seem to get over this detective thing and it was seeming to get the better part of me cos if I wasn't thinking food I was thinking murder and the first suspect right now; my dad.

Sunday was a bit unusual. My dad and I woke up really early, Ronny had cooked all the food needed for the day as early as six and put them in the fridge, we even went to church, hallelujah! Throughout my time with my dad I kept feeling the urge to just tell him everything I found out and confront him but I remembered Cassandra's seemingly wise words; don't give a hunch until you have full proof
So that was it, I was going to keep smiling and living with someone I could hardly trust, what if he tries something funny? No, not possible. I waved the idea away I mean I've been living with this man for seventeen years and I'm still doing fine.
Later that Sunday evening, I had to prepare for school and shop for some things. My dad gave me his credit card while Nick drove me to the store.
Nick was new as well, we met him here in America, or at least I met him here. He was about fifty or sixty years old I think, probably in his mid fifties. We talked about a lot of stuff as he drove to the mall, I learnt he was half Portuguese and half American and that his father fought in the world war.
He dropped me off at the entrance and was to pick me in the next half hour, I wasn't going to shop for long
I went from the shoes section, to the clothes section, to the hat section just few stuff into the shopping cart I was holding. I wasn't really in the mood for a spree. I picked up headphones and put in the shopping cart about to move on
"wow you just picked that without looking at the price, its pretty expensive" a male voice said

I was startled as I stood fixed in a spot. That voice sounded too familiar and it was something I had heard recently, probably from a movie or something. I paused and turned to see who was talking. Boom! It was Kyle, that super smart guy sitting right in front of me in class, always answering questions, so annoying
"I know you from somewhere, aren't you that new girl in my class. I work here I'm Kyle Hunter" he said as he arranged the items he brought on the shelf
"Amy, Amy west nice to meet you" I said not planning to spend more time there
Wow a whole week in the same class and he doesn't even know my name, he might not be as smart as I thought well looking at him up close he's not as good looking either. He tried to keep up the conversation but the straight, boring replies I gave meant was not the least interested. So he gave up and went back to his duty post, finally.
I already checked out at the counter when I saw Nick's missed calls, it wasn't even up to thirty minutes. I sent a message to him which he replied almost immediately
"I'm outside already be quick" the message read
I grabbed my shopping bags and sped towards the door to check for the car. The car wasn't even outside, was this man seriously playing pranks?

Celestial [A Progression Fantasy LitRPG]
Warning!Profanity, unconventional relationships, drug use, descriptive gore and intimacy. Celestial is a slow-paced and action-packed progression fantasy with elements from the LitRPG genre. The story focuses on the protagonist’s personal growth, violence, sex, exploration and adventure. Follow Zelaria as she embarks on her journey of exploration and adventure, seeking ever greater heights of power. With an affinity for the elusive and mysterious Arcane and a preference for the thrill of close combat she nonetheless chooses to walk the path of a mage. A mage may still use weapons but a warrior rarely casts spells as far as she knows. It’s a logical path for her even if others may call it insanity. What do they know? Most people who choose to specialize in wielding mana tend to pick a mage class aligned with their element. Why become a standard mage, average at everything, when you can use your affinity for fire to become a fire mage and cause destruction with ease? The only problem for Zelaria is that no one seems to know how to get a mage class aligned with the arcane. Approaching 17 years of age she’s still at level 0 while her peers have long left her behind, their classes selected at the age of 15 when they became available. Luck is on her side though as she manages to snag employment as a hauler with a party heading on an expedition to a dungeon abandoned centuries ago. They’re looking for riches and danger while she’s still looking for an answer, one she finds at their destination even if not in the way she expected. Nothing is going to stop her from enjoying all that the world has to offer, not the wish of her parents or even her death. I'll be aiming to upload 5 chapters in bulk every week.
