《Whodunnit 2》Chapter 17 - Breakaway

"Who would like to investigate the crime scene, my butlers quarters?" Giles's voice quivered slightly as he finished his sentence. The butler had no idea why the killer breached his own private room. The group of killers had never done it to Giles before, so why now? The butler started to worry, maybe he had broken some rule? Was his own life in danger?
In the end, it was Chantal & Grace who decided to go to the crime scene and they both followed May to the butlers quarters.
"Who would like to investigate the last known whereabouts?"
Mary, Brett & Kristina followed Sophie to the unknown area.
"Kendra, Troy & Cecilia, follow me to the morgue."
May lead both Grace & Chantal to the crime scene. After she reminded them of their time limit, she slowly closed the door behind her and left the two females in the room by themselves.
Chantal immediately noticed Grace's facial expression as they both looked through Giles' private room, the author looked extremely defeated, Chantal was curious.
"What's up?" The blonde asked, leaning on Giles' bedside table.
Grace looked up in frustration "Well, I thought for sure Jeremy was the killer. Since that's now not the case, I don't know who to trust."
Chantal shrugged "Luckily, my guess is still alive."
"Who do you think is the killer?" Grace asked back.
"Kristina," Chantal replied.
"I guess it's an understandable guess, she is the youngest one here and doesn't really react that much to the finding of the bodies." Grace finally opened up her options about other people being the killer, now that Jeremy was officially dead.
"The girl is so sketchy." Chantal put much emphasis on the word 'so'. Chantal didn't trust Kristina for anything, she was absolutely certain that the youngest guest was the killer.
After a few more minutes of speculating guesses for the killer, the two women finally starting investigating the crime scene to look for clues.
The first thing the two guests noticed was the massive red stain on the floor of Giles's suite. The red stain looked like blood and was splattered in the opposite direction in which Jeremy's body was facing when he was found hanging.
"That's a bit weird, isn't it?" Grace questioned Chantal as they both squatted by the massive red spot.
"It doesn't make sense. Why is there even blood here? And, why would it be in the opposite direction of his body?" Chantal was at a lost of words. She wasn't an expert on death, but she knew that when people are hung, there typically isn't a ton of blood surrounding the person. So why was there blood here?

Eventually, the two women started examining the rope noose which was tied to the ceiling fan of Giles' room. Chantal took a wooden stool which she noticed in the room and used it to take the noose off the fan. Upon inspection, she noticed it was tied very well, as well as having a few hairs on it which the singer obviously realised would have been Jeremy's hairs.
After a few more minutes of searching in silence, Grace & Chantal split up into two different directions. Grace decided to investigate Giles' bathroom, seeing how that gave some pretty vital clues for some of the past murders like Colton's. Whereas, Chantal decided to investigate under Giles' bed and by the doorway.
Ultimately, it was Chantal who was able to choose a wise area. Upon inspecting the door of Giles' suite she found several wood shavings on the floor. It was clear to her to see that the killer must have used a forced entry to get access to the butlers' private room. Upon even more inspection, she found a crowbar under Giles' bed. The singer was immediately elated once she found the relevant clues, she knew that Grace hadn't found the items. For all Chantal knew, she had the advantage. However, she was wrong.
In the bathroom, Grace found a small book on everything involving rope. It looked more like an encyclopedia of noose's however, as there were several examples of different types of ways people could use a simple rope to make a noose.
The bell rang soon after both the women found their clues, they both walked out in silence and eventually sat in the great room to wait for everyone else to finish investigating their areas. Both women hoped their alliance members would come back with some vital information.
Mary, Brett & Kristina quickly scattered into Jeremy's room and started to examine the potential evidence. After the five deaths so far, the three had learned a valuable lesson about time. They had begun to learn that time spent on chatting while in the areas produced for the murders, was the time which could result in their deaths, so they did not want to play around with talks this round.
The all searched in silence until Kristina found the first clue.
Under Jeremy's bed was a single needle, luckily the youngest guest was able to grab the plastic tube surrounding the needle without having to move the bed.
Once the gymnast grabbed the needle, Mary & Brett immediately scattered away from their areas in Jeremy's room and surrounded Kristina.
Upon flipping the tube over in her hand, Kristina was able to see that the needle was labeled 'General Anesthetic'.

"So I take it the killer knocked him out in his sleep," Kristina asked the small group around her.
"Yeah. Poor guy." Mary sounded apologetic to Jeremy as she glanced longer at the needle.
"Do you think the killer would have just done this though? Or would be more here?" Brett pondered to the group.
Brett's question went unanswered as both the females had already moved on from the needle and started examining different parts of the room.
Kristina examined the en-suite bathroom of the suite. The first thing that she noticed when she opened the door, was that the door couldn't actually open the full way. Something was blocking the door.
Using her flexible body, the gymnast was able to squeeze through an awkward position in the door and see what was blocking it.
It was a wheelchair. Like any normal model from normal hospitals. The model had looked like it had been seemingly thrown into the room, with little care for what mess it made in the room. Kristina noticed how the wheels had mud caked on them, with even a few pieces of grass attached. The twenty year old knew that she had to make a mental note of that. At this stage of the game, every clue was vital.
Brett then found another clue. The third clue was under Jeremy's bed side table, to the left of the door to the suite. The musician found a small key card, used to get into the rooms of the resort. However, this one was different. He noticed it was labelled 'Master Card'. He assumed this was the card which the killer relied on to get into the guests rooms. With the access to a master card, the killer could get anywhere in Brett's opinion.
Brett shared his findings with Mary & Kristina, feeling generous. He had learnt that sometimes sharing information could bring him benefits.
"Thats really scary to know the killer has a key card." Mary stated. "That means he or she can just enter whoever they want, no matter how much we prepare ourselves."
Kristina went to open her mouth, but she was quickly interrupted.
By the time the bell rang, Kristina had failed to mention anything about the wheelchair in Jeremy's bathroom. She knew that Jeremy didn't rely on a wheelchair, so it had to be something connecting to his murder. As far as she was concerned, she had the upper hand walking out of Jeremy's room. She felt bad for not sharing with Brett & Mary, however.
Kendra, Troy & Cecilia got to work immediately.
Although it sounded terrible in their minds, the three had gotten used to seeing dead bodies now. Nothing really fazed them. Especially seeing how each of them had been to the morgue several times (This was the third time for both Troy & Kendra, and Cecilia's fourth time.) They each knew they were gonna have to get used to even more bodies if they wanted to make it to the end.
Upon Troy lifting the white sheet, they noticed something strange about Jeremy's body. He was unusually orange. His whole body head to ankle was a weird shade of orange.
"That's not a tan. No way, feel how greasy his skin is." Kendra happened to run her fingers along Jeremy's left arm as she was inspecting the body, and found that the skin was extremely slippery and greasy.
"This is so...strange." Cecilia's voice trailed off as she tried to find the correct word to describe Jeremy's body.
The trio inspected the skin of Jeremy predominantly. It was unlike anything any of them had ever seen.
Troy dug into Jeremy's stomach. The athlete wanted to pull out some of the 'skin' to possibly get more clues. Upon peeling off a small section of skin from the directors stomach, the group saw his flesh. The small section of skin was the only thing separating Jeremy's body from being a fleshy, bloody mess.
Kendra was at a loss for words as she examined the bloody area.
"So this...mould? Is soft enough to peel off him like glue. How is that possible? What happened?" Cecilia asked. The single mother didn't even have any theories on what could of happened to Jeremy.
Troy moved on from the skin a few minutes later and started to examine two identical wounds on Jeremy's neck. The wounds looked very deep in the neck, Troy assumed they could have been fatal. But he would need more information from Kristina, hopefully it would give him more clues.
"I'm noticing his feet are normal though. His feet aren't this weird mould." Kendra was the first to notice that the only part of Jeremy's body which wasn't orange was his feet. The model assumed that must have been a clue.
Kendra decided to take a thermometer test on the body. After a few seconds, the machine flashed its temperature '70•C'
Cecilia noticed this by glance, but decided not to speak up.
The last minutes of the morgue investigation was filled with conversation of what the mould on Jeremy was. They each knew it was the clue to Jeremy's murder.
